  1. Well since I didn't get a response in the VL/GS thread...

I will AGAIN give my congratulations to the Titans on advancing to regional play!  I know for some, a sectional championship is considered a birth right (not GS). But the Titans played their butts off for a hard fought victory and that deserves a hand shake at mid field!

As for this Saturday..I think Tri West was going to be a tall order for whomever came out of Sectional 30. And that's just my honest assessment after watching their film against Danville.  Wouldn't be surprised if GS could pull this off, but I'm gonna go with Tri West at home.

This one's for all the lug nuts!

  2. Congrats to the Titans on the sectional title

This one still stings just as much even after sleeping on it.  I'm not gonna get into much detail as far as my thoughts on the game, as there were many moments...

These were two evenly matched teams that came to play. Both were stout defensively and pretty effective offensively.  Mistakes were made on both sides...the real difference was who capitalized on the miscues. Lincoln had 2 TO's, the final one being the most critical that GS was able score the dagger.

GS had 4 TO's but Lincoln could only cash in on one of them. If the Alices go 50% off those then I'm probably in a totally different mood tonight. But they didn't and the GS defense was a big reason for that. They were at their best when their offense needed picked up.

  3. Somewhere there’s moms spaghetti on @Titan32’s sweater…

No way I can predict a score after last year’s wild contest. I still think both teams will put up some points, but on the o/u 105 I’m definitely taking the under haha.

I expect this game to live up to the hype. We couldn’t have asked for better weather in November. Couldn’t have asked for a much better draw so that these two could meet in the final, which is where they both belong.

If it’s the guys that do VL home games it would be the local radio station WZDM.

I doubt that it would be streamed for free on the WZDM site. Wouldn’t hurt to try I guess. But if Indiana SRN is being forced to charge for the Reitz/Memorial game via the Champions Network, then VL probably falls under that same umbrella.

And as of now, I don’t see VL/GS listed as an upcoming game on the app. Have to check again tomorrow..

I think what he's really getting at is you'll lose this Friday so Coach Salters won't have any more radio shows...

That’s as good a guess as any..I thought we were being scouted via radio haha

Actually it looks like they only do their radio show for the regular season...or at least that is all they archive.

I don’t usually catch the coach’s show since I’m on the clock at that time. Honestly couldn’t tell you for sure.

Not to stray too far away from my SIAC/Sectional 24 thread but thought I'd offer my opinion on this.

Yes, they beat Memorial 6-0 without him. However, their offense struggled to do anything (0 offensive points) and had Memorial played with a healthy roster as well, they likely would've been able to beat VL.

They lost to Jasper 13-0 the following week. Again, they struggled to do anything offensively (0 offensive points) without their QB1. However, they were able to hold Jasper to 13 points when they had come in on a good roll, if I remember correctly.

I will be the first to admit I do not know as much about either team as some obviously will be able to talk more about each of them, but, from my unofficial view, this game is absolutely a toss up. They didn't need to demonstrate if QB1 was fully healthy but my guess is he is or they wouldn't have risked it against inferior opponents in their previous sectional games.

I know even less about the teams GS has played all season in (and out) of the PAC but I would bet this VL D is one of the best they will see, besides maybe those KY teams?

The Memorial and Jasper games were pretty much identical for Lincoln offensively. They were able to move it between the 20’s but struggled in the red zone. They did convert the 2 field goals against memorial but against Jasper elected to go on 4th down the few times they were close due to the situation (the cats scored all 13 of their points in the 1st q I believe).

Something to consider…QB2 is also slot receiver so the Lincoln passing game was hindered x 2.

    This is the year!

A really solid group from north posey will prove that mater dei playing a "tough" SIAC schedule means nothing when they have inferior talent at every level.

North posey has a big o line who can push almost anyone around. Their rushing attack is so dominant on every level- I would bet mater dei has not seen anyone run as hard as Galvin and Stone.

Defensively, held 1 loss Heritage hills who averages 40+ points per game to 10 points. Strong at every level, pass defense is much improved from last season.

mater dei looks soft on the games I have seen on the news. The Vikings will hit every play.

Been looking forward to seeing this team beat mater dei since they started coming together 2 year ago, and really been looking forward to a Poseyville win since 2012!

    This is the year!

Oh boy...so the excitement for your guys is definitely warranted. NP has proven themselves for sure and are very much a threat to MD. They've got the talent and experience capable of winning.

But I don't get your assessment of MD coming off as soft, when in fact they are very battle tested. This was one of the more well rounded seasons for the SIAC with 8 really good teams. The Wildcats were put through the meat grinder.  So if the 3-7 record seems "soft" I suggest you reconsider your stance.

Don't get me wrong, I won't be shocked if NP wins. But it sure isn't going to be a picnic. The Bowl tends to favor the home team come postseason.
