  1. Watched Mississinewa last week, they cannot win throwing the ball like they have the last two weeks, they just aren't that kind of team. They have to be able to run the football, if they throw over 10 times a game i cant see them winning many games trying to throw 38 against MG and 15 against OH. They just dont have the QB and RB/WR they had 5-6 years ago when they were pretty good.

Appreciate the insight, my ex mother in law is buried at Marion National Cemetery and we went through Gas City/ ate at Cracker Barrel usually when we came from 69 to visit.  Usually Sirloin Stockade if we came down through Marion.

You're right on the long drive, and 5-7pm on a Friday night at Essenhaus is likely to be a long wait time. If anyone gets out of work and heads up early it's still a cool place to check out for those that haven't been, even if you just walk through the shops and bakery.

Northridge runs the ball decently and can pass as well, but we lost a lot of the passing production after our starting qb was injured for the season.   One of our top rbs/a top sprinter in the state is also out for the season along with a few other key guys.

That being said, we struggled at the end of the regular season to figure things out with all the guys dropping like flies, but seem to have figured things out now with moving a guy from rb to qb now, he has given us a more mobile qb that seems to find a way to win.

I watched Mississenewa paly Friday night for the first time this year. They ran the ball incredibly well and the line did a great job. I came away really impressed at how well than ran the ball and blocked.

Blackford at Eastbrook--Just a couple weeks ago these two teams played each other.  Unfortunately for the Bruins the outcome will be the same.  Panthers advance to play next week.

Tipton at Elwood--The short bus drive to Elwood will be quiet as the Blue Devils focus on how to take care of business. Elwood improved every week this year and broke the loosing streak but they haven't improved enough to beat Tipton.  Tipton advances and plays the second half with a running clock.

Lapel at Frankton--The final game at the current field for Frankton.  Lapel make another short drive to play the final game at the current field.  Lapel wins the final game at the field as Frankton can't wait to be on the turf next year by the high school.

Alexandria at Eastern--Alexandria has had a roller coaster year.  Start out strong in games but by the end of the first half they are done.  This week will be no different as Eastern rolls to a win with a running clock the second half.

Oak Hill at Bellmont--Oak Hill makes their debut back in 3A against a winless Bellmont that played 1 3A and the rest were 4A schools.  This game will be closer than it should be.  In the end Oak Hill advances to the semi-finals.

Marion at Mississinewa--Both teams have new coach's.  They have met the last 3 years with 2 of those games for the sectional title.  Mississinewa won 2 out of the 3 with both winning the sectional title.  Both teams lost key offensive players.  This game will come down to who commits the fewest penalties and turnovers.  If this game was at Marion they would have the edge.  In the end Mississinewa wins on a field goal in the closing seconds of the game.

Don't see this game being close. I have seen Ole Miss 3 times this year and they are bad.

  4. I have watched CIC football for a few years,  most of you on here have probably watched more than I, but does anyone remember or think the CIC has been worse than it is right now? It is almost unbearable to watch. It has been fun watching Eastbrook and Mississinewa the last few years with their talented kids, but Mississinewa looks way down this year and Eastbrook is doing what they always do. I would just like to see some competitive games. Although I went to Marion game last week hoping to see one and it was the same way.

I know I didn't just read a short comment on the first Thursday in October.  The Mississinewa 5'5 kids almost single handedly scored 650 points against Frankton.  Short players football career matters too.  C'Mon man!

    That is great man!!!

  6. CIC is absolutely terrible this year outside of Eastbrook, and after watching them Friday night i am not really sure how good they are.

Mississinewa has one guy to stop, if you can stop him you shut them down. I would never kick to him.

2nd place in the conference will be determined this Friday at Mississinewa.

This conference does nothing to prepare anyone for the tournament.

I am a CIC guy, just really disappointed by what i have seen so far this year.

  7. I went and watched the Eastbrook vs Ole Miss game last Friday. Couple things stood out.

Line play is terrible for the Indians. QB has no time to do anything.

Someone at the game told me they though Ole Miss was the second best team in CIC? If this is the case then the CIC is horrible. There is no way the team i seen Friday is a second place team. Is the talent that far down, or did the coaching change hurt them that bad?

Eastbrooks QB is a big strong kid and throws the ball decent which will help them in the tournament.

The refs couldnt stop Webo’s passing game?  And the refs allowed Webo to score 34?

    @Bobref how are officials determined?

I have no dog in this fight, but i will tell you that one call last year killed Eastbrook. Normally one call does not change a game, but it did here. I really believe after seeing film that Eastbrook wins this game by at least 10 points.

I think it would be a great thing for the conference if Mississinewa won!  I just don’t think they will this week!  As far as having something against them, I don’t like Mississinewa, never have!  I said earlier on another thread, because I was asked and I said coach Funk should’ve had better success in this little school conference than he has.  How about you just don’t worry about what I think or say!

Are you mad? You seem mad.

How bout that Coach Funk crew huh!!!

Yes, how about them. I went to this game, one of the best HS games i have seen. Mississinewa just pounds the ball. O Line and D line look fantastic. Ole Miss might have something special here. I think Coach Funk has proved just how good he is. This should end that ridiculous discussion from an earlier post.

Let me get this straight.  Mississinewa won in the first round of the sectional and you already have them playing in the state championship game??  C’mon man!!

Whatever you say!  South Adams in my opinion will be representing the north in 1A at the state finals.  But you just hold on to your stats and theories.  Maybe if Mississinewa had all their players healthy against Eastbrook then MG would win this week and Epstein would not have killed himself!

Or if they had a good coach ???? Isn't that right captionobvious? In my sarcastic voice. In all seriousness , If Mississinewa controls the ball and time of possession they win this game.

Big fan of Coach Funk, great guy, who runs a great program !!    I'm a Fan!!   Go Indians!!!

I am as well. Great guy who runs a great program. Look where Mississinewa was before he got there. Funk has changed he culture of the Football program. I have to believe that CaptionObvious has a personal issue with Funk/Mississinewa.

Arent you the same guy that said Funk is holding Mississinewa back? If so i would consider anything you have to say as irrelevant. One of the dumbest comments i have ever seen on here.

  14. Is Funk still holding Mississinewa back? Dumbest comment i have ever seen on here. Went to game Friday, great adjustment made at halftime to win that game. I am a Marion graduate, but at some point we have to start giving Mississinewa and there coaching staff credit for what the have done for that program the last few years.

I think that coach Funk is holding Mississinewa back.  He is just not that good of a coach and has failed to inspire and discipline a larger team and be able to use the talent there to the best of their ability.  I think that the same applies to Alexandria!  This group of athletes that the Tigers have, should be way more competitive!  It seems the basketball and baseball coaches have figured out what they have and how to translate that talent into success.

Please tell me this is a joke?? If not this is one of the craziest things i have seen on here. Funk has Mississinewa from one of the weakest CIC teams to one who competes every year. How has he not used the talent? He had a great duo in Skeens and McCoin a few years ago and used them pretty well.
