Scrimmages mean nothing.   Nice to get work in but I'd never judge a teams value by just one scrimmage.   Could have had half team missing.

They didn't have half their team missing. They had 1 of their starters out in Jackson and if I remember right won't play against Knox either.

Rochester is supposed to be down and they certainly looked like it when i saw them

Caston at North Judson - Gotta admit the Jays surprised me with their offensive output last Friday!  In light of that I have to think they'll handle the Comets pretty easily even though Caston will put some points on the board.  North Judson 42-13
Culver at South Central - Ditmire got his 200 last week in the loss and he'll get another 200 this week.  But I don't  know if the Culver D will be good enough to stop the Satellites.  I'm going to guess the Cavs will shore up some things on the defensive side of the ball this week.  I'm taking them to make it another HNAC victory over our neighbors to the Northwest.  Culver 33-22
Knox at Rochester - The Zebras have been no pushover the last two years.  In fact, didn't they beat the Redskins last year?  Why yes, yes they did!  Won't happen this year.  Knox by a couple.  Knox 21-7
Pioneer at Winamac - Pioneer will get back to their dominating, shut out ways.  Pioneer 54-0
Triton at LaVille - I watched the LaVille / Bremen game on the Lancer YouTube Network and came away more disappointed with Bremen than sold on LaVille.  But I still think LaVille is going to be a solid contender for the HNAC title and the Sectional 34 crown.  Triton did some good things against South Central offensively, but allowed the Satellites 24 points in the last 8 minutes to let them back in it.  The Lancers will be too much for the Trojans.  LaVille 35-16

Id be really shocked if Rochester stayed within 2 tds of Knox.

Rochester looked bad against us. They didn't really stop us at any point in the scrimmage.

    LaVille @ Bremen

Bremens got a young n dumb team. Against an experienced team who finished the year last year on a disappointing note as the Jays handed it to them in sectionals. LaVille brings back a whole lotta talent, expect the Lancers to handle business: LaVille 28-7

    Cass @ Pioneer

Pioneer obviously lost a lot after last years class but still return a plethora of offensive weapons, expect the Lewellan boys to run wild and Von Tobel to show off the cannon and shock a lot of people at QB... The Panthers will keep the win streak alive: Panthers 21-7

    NJSP @ Culver

Jays return 3 and 2 starters respectively, as Culver lost hardly anything, while returning starting force Zack Ditmire. The HNACs new Dawson Patrick will give defenses  fits all year long. Expect to see some new offensive stuff from new coach Brett Lambert. The Jays do return all state linebacker Nolan Shidler though, but on the offensive side have moved him to tackle... That man needs the ball in his hands as it is his team... Rookie coach mistake??? Anyways this will be a battle but I see the Cavs taking this one: Culver 28-7

    SCUM @ Triton

Trojans, much like the Jays, lose a big class and SCUM loses a walking 50 yard bomb at QB. Should be a dog fight: SCUM 28-27

    West Central @ Caston

Respect to the Caston kids for sticking with it, but this will be a $*** show to say the least. Expect the Comets to get their first win in awhile: Caston 21-14

    Winamac @ Knox

Winamac loses some talent as does Knox but I see Knox with a lot more depth to cover the holes left by Patrick and Prater. Expect there to be a lot of passing in Pulaski County though this year as Compton will not be afraid to let it fly: Redskins 35-14

    Frogster..

At first I thought it was a mistake too but the more I thought about it. North Judson needed more help on the OLINE then they did in the back field. Nolan is a hard worker, a leader and a team player. Im sure he wasn't thrilled about it at first but hes doing what's best for the team offensively.

Easy steps my young padwan learner. Nowlin knows a thing or two about the OL/DL. The force is strong with that one.

    Poor old Joe.....

    https://nypost.com/2019/08/08/latest-biden-blunder-poor-kids-are-just-as-bright-as-white-kids/

Gaffe-prone presidential hopeful Joe Biden put his foot in his mouth during an Iowa campaign stop on Thursday when he told a group of predominately Asian and Hispanic voters that “poor kids are just as bright, just as talented, as white kids.”

Biden committed the stunning blunder while speaking about education at a town hall with the Asian and Latino Coalition in Des Moines, where he’s campaigning and fundraising for the 2020 Democratic primary.

“We should challenge students in these schools and have advanced placement programs in these schools. We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it,” Biden said at the event, according to video of his remarks.

“Poor kids are just as bright, just as talented, as white kids,” he added.

Biden almost immediately went into damage control mode, quickly adding: “wealthy kids, black kids, Asian kids, no I really mean it, but think how we think about it.”

But President Trump’s campaign quickly seized on the tongue slip, with his “rapid response director” Andrew Clark tweeting out a video clip of the remark.

“Yikes…have fun mitigating that one,” he tweeted.

Biden walked out of the Democratic primary debates last week red-faced after he accidentally told donors to “go to Joe 30330” when he meant to tell them to “text JOE to 30330″ to donate.

On Monday, the befuddled 76-year-old bungled the locations of the El Paso and Dayton mass shootings when he expressed sympathy for the “tragic events in Houston today and also in Michigan the day before.”

So... The gaffes Biden makes bad..but silence when trump said there was air ports in the 1700s.

Games involving Hoosier North Athletic Conference this Friday?

Have any thoughts, picks, or rants . . .  now's your chance!

    Friday, Aug. 30
Caston at North Judson ©, 7:30 pm
Culver at South Central, 7:30 pm
    Knox at Rochester, 7:30 pm
Pioneer at Winamac ©, 7 pm
Triton at LaVille ©, 7 pm

    This week will be interesting.

Id say Caston is more improved this year then last but still have a long way to go. Ill say NJ 38.. Caston 12.

Culver had quite a few turnovers last week against the Jays. South Central made a nice comeback against Triton but missed a field goal? To win it. Culver should fix the turnover issues and ride King, Stevens and Dittmire. I think Culver wins 33-14.

Knox is big, pretty athletic and has some good playmakers. In the scrimmage Rochester didn't look very good and had a tough time stopping the pass. Short, McIntire and #37 are gonna eat. Rochester still doesn't have Jackson yet. Knox 48. Rochester 6.

Triton almost blew their decent size lead against SC. LaVille has tons of playmakers. Watts, Doyle, Dill, Pope, battchelor? And Czarnecki. Triton had some guys back but had to replace a lot. I really like the McIntyre kid and the other Shumphert. Im still taking the Lancers. LaVille 34. Triton 13.

    Pioneer and Winamac.

They lost Jack Kiser, Danny Gregorich and Connor Walker. Three studs. They lost some other quality kids too. Im sure Ezra and Addai will continue to carry some of the load and im sure as the season goes along Von Toble will look better and better at QB. Wireman is another nice weapon in the backfield. Mersch at WR and James at TE will do fine in expanded roles. The offensive line took some major blows with Schnuraple and Gaumer going down then lost Beckley last game. Heard Schurnaple is done for the year, hope Gaumer and Beckley can be ok for this week. They'll still work the kinks out as will Winamac but the Panthers backfield is too explosive. Ill say 35-6..

I saw the Knox game score, did Winimac play bad or did Knox play that well?

Knox is bigger, stronger, more physical and Faster up front. Knox is also a lot quicker at the skilled positions.

Winamac had some trouble on punt. Their long snapper and Punter coming into the year are both hurt. Kiefer is out for the season and Murray broke his hand in Soccer... That gave some good field positioning.

Russell Compton also struggled some. Hes a great kid and is gonna be a stud but hes gotta trust his other receivers. Jared Huetten is gonna see a lot of double coverage.. And that means hes gotta hit Keith Dell, Brayden Lynch and Hayden Clark. He had some time but he was really just looking at Huetten. I think hell be fine though.

Knox lost Prater, Patrick, McCarty and Pfost and some subs but most of those guys played last year as starters.
