I mean, it’s pretty good. Probably top 5 this season. One of the best coaches in the State. One of the biggest teams in the state starting with their 7 foot Center and their 2 6”6 Forwards. Going to be a really good year for those guys.

A top tier team this year….OK.    A top tier program?  C’mon, man

That’s basically what I said. 😆. I didn’t say FC had the better team. I just felt they had a lot of talent. They should’ve played better vs East and Elder. Not even saying they should’ve won. But they should’ve been in those games. That’s just my own opinion.

Come to a Floyd Central game. It’s a great crowd and a great environment. Untill after Halftime. Half the crowd leaves after the Marching Band and Dazzlers have performed. They’re more worried about shooting off fireworks and selling T-Shirts then they are winning Football games. Thank Goodness we have a top tier basketball program. It’ll be a sad day when Todd Sturgeon decides to retire.

    Top tier basketball program???

For some reason my “Quote” feature isn’t working.😠 But @oldtimeqb, I have not heard that specific scenario. But I’ve penalized a school because the band wasn’t off the field. And I’ve also seen a few spirited conversations between band directors, coaches and ADs. 🤣

As an aside, if the team is ready to take the field timely, but the field isn’t clear because of the band, it’s a 5 yd. penalty for delay, not 15 yds. for unsportsmanlike conduct. Rule 3-6-4. However, we have specifically been instructed by the IHSAA to treat a “talcum powder delay” as unsportsmanlike conduct.

As a crew chief, I can say I have never been instructed by the IHSAA or any agent of Meridian St how to treat a talcum powder delay.  Have other officials been instructed on the TPD penalty?   IO, has association discussed this?

That would be one heck of a drive if true. It is nearly 3 hours, according to Google maps, so probably at least 3 on a bus!

It is no longer directly HHC related, but Madison's schedule is interesting. I'd have to think the double up on September 10th is an error and one of those games is a week 3. Carroll County definitely makes sense, as they are nearly across the river from one another. Mercer County is a solid 3A school. And Boone County is a 5A program that has struggled for some time now. They keep JC, BNL and Seymour from their HHC days.

DATE OPPONENT EASTERN TIME OA 0.0, DA 0.0
Aug. 21   Mercer County (Ky.) 5:00 pm
Aug. 27 at South Dearborn 4A 7:00 pm
Sep. 10   Carroll County (Ky.) 7:00 pm
    Sep. 10   Milan 1A 7:00 pm
Sep. 17 at Jennings County 4A 7:00 pm
    Sep. 24 at Mitchell 2A 7:00 pm
Oct. 1   Boone County (Ky.) 7:00 pm
Oct. 8 at Bedford North Lawrence 5A 7:00 pm
    Oct. 15   Seymour 5A 7:00 pm

I heard the Norwell game was at an Indy site.

Recap- Just a great overall night at FC. It’s worth it to freeze my butt off to witness a Sectional Championship. First off, I’ll give some credit to Jeffersonville. Coach Isaac Parker brought the most disciplined Jeffersonville team that I’ve seen in a while. Even though they made some mistakes, they played very clean, and they played hard. I think he did a good job this year. I think they’ll improve. It was really a closer game for 3 qtrs than what you think. We had a 10-0 halftime lead despite having great field position the whole game. The officiating was horrible. Floyd Central had some ridiculous penalties called on them that helped stall some opportunities. Wenkers had a few nice runs in the first half and we threw it pretty well. But he went down with an Ankle injury, early in the 3rd and he did not return. The latest that I’ve heard is that he should be fine and should play against BSHS but I imagine that’s a gametime decision. Colin Cummins came in and ran the ball extremely well and Coach Bragg had a couple really good play calls to kind of get the momentum back after Jeff blocked a FG and ran it back to make it 10-7. All in all, just a great Victory, that was well earned by all the players and staff. This is probably the best I’ve felt about their football program in a long time because I think they have one heck of a coaching staff. Looking forward to seeing how they match up with Bloomington South. We have never won a Regional Championship.

What were the calls that troubled you?  The one in the 1st quarter or coming out oh halftime?

Stink Town = Lawrenceburg - A mixture of Seagrams, Concept, Sewer plant....Lovely....

Spin City = Brownstown - They run a version of the spin offense

Casket Nation = Batesville - Batesville Casket Company

Hondaburg = Greensburg - Honda Plant

Chicken Jo Joes = Franklin County - They have cement chicken all through town, plus the Cottage has great chicken and Jo Joes (potatoes)

Days of the New = Charlestown - Rock Band from that city.

Like the reference to Days of the New......it’s been a little bit since they were large.

As someone from a few miles up the road from Jeff.....no, don't think there will be any drama to this,

His $$ spends like anyone else's     School board already took it, the school is already spending it.

Just an alumnus taking care of his school and the team he played for.   He just gave a couple of million

to a HBCU in Louisville a couple of months ago, who gratefully said "thanks".

    That is incredibly petty/dumb.

When the various school corporations were formed, there were areas that Clarksville did not want included in the Clarksville Community School corp, such as the Veterans Blvd area, where Walmart/Sams, Target, Lowes are at,  was a wasteland of swamp.  Long before Green Tree Mall sprang up.....Hwy 131 was a narrow country road.  The town limits have nothing to do with the school area.   If you think the school systems are crazy, you should see all the various annexations/land grabs of the various cities and towns of Clark County.
