Hoosier Heritage Conference Week 7

After a convincing win over Greenfield-Central last week, New Palestine is in the driver's seat in the HHC, but the conference standings will get sorted out a lot this week with the 3-1 teams taking on the 2-2 teams. No hurricanes in the forecast this week - three of last week's four games were played on Friday night in the monsoon.

This week

Delta (3-3/1-3) at Pendleton Heights (3-3/1-3): Both teams are coming off losses in the monsoon last week - Delta to New Castle and Pendleton Heights at home to Mt. Vernon. The Arabians feature the HHC's leading passer in Colton Frank, but have dropped back-to-back games, while Delta is looking to get untracked after three straight losses. 

New Castle (4-2/3-1) at Mt. Vernon (2-4/2-2): The Marauders have won back-to-back games over Delta and Pendleton Heights and are back on home turf this weekend, while New Castle has gotten off to a surprising start, beating Yorktown and Delta in back-to-back weeks. NC's Caleb Clapp and MV's Joliba Brogan are two of the top rushers in the area. 

New Palestine (5-0/4-0) at Shelbyville (1-5/0-4): The Dragons are rolling, having gone to a running clock in every conference game so far. Their defense was outstanding last week, holding Greenfield-Central to 45 total yards. Shelbyville's very young team is dealing with some growing pains right now. 

Yorktown (4-2/2-2) at Greenfield-Central (5-1/3-1): The Cougars will look for a bounce-back after a shutout loss to New Palestine. Their defense was solid but the Dragons eventually took command in the second half. Yorktown is building off a shutout win over Shelbyville and will look to establish its passing game against the Cougars.
