I would definitely agree with this.  I also know that know that getting passed Decatur Central isn't going to be a cake walk.  I know it will take a great game to beat New Pal.  New Pal's schedule is a joke, they even know it, but all they can do is line up and play who is on there.  I would hate to be in a position where you try to better your schedule by dropping an 0-5 football team and adding a 2-3 team, but I give them credit for at least attempting to improve it.  Kyle Ralph, a Saint X Bomber himself, is an outstanding coach and I am sure does the best he can with the struggle that is managing playing a weak schedule.

Congrats to Charlie Spegal on his accomplishments and I wish nothing but the best for that young man and all the great athletes at New Pal.    Charlie doesn't fit the mold of what college programs are looking for in a running back, but he is a great football player and that's why he is getting the preferred walk-on options at Power 5 schools.  Not fitting the mold is not Charlie's fault, there is just certain criteria that immediately make them uncheck your box, height would be my guess in Charlie's case.  I could be wrong but I know other great running backs that took visits and the first thing they do is measure the height and then say thanks for coming and enjoy the game, and they heard nothing else from that school.  Yes it is unfortunate, but that's just the way things are. Like I already said, no hate here, and I know plenty of other Cathedral parents that share the same opinion as myself.

I look forward to my son and his teammates having the chance to knock off a great team with a historic player.  To beat them would allow my son to say, yeah Charlie Spegal was a tremendous player, but we stopped him from winning state the year he broke the record.  That's not disrespect, but an honor.  You play the game to win and beat the best.  I look forward to that game if both teams are fortunate enough to get there.  Hopefully both teams stay healthy and we see what I would call the most anticipated Regional match up in quit a few years.

Will history repeat? Brett Law and Co recorded his last TD in the tourney his Sr yr..... Lcc old timers... remember it well... 😌

Cass has had a great defense all year long (last week was definitely their biggest challenge). I feel like if they play 4 quarters of defense the way they played in the 3rd vs Western they could keep it competitive.

I luv great D.... and I became a fan of the Kings when I watched that Andrean game yrs ago .... what was it...6-OTs ?  Impressive!....no one thout they had a prayer.... mayb they can do it again???

What’s the thoughts about Friday’s match up of #1s with West Lafayette coming to Walton to take on Cass? Does anybody think Cass keeps it close or is it over before the start?

It's interesting from a sag  accuracy standpoint... sag has WL by 13.5 .... call it 2 tds..... SA and Cass r neck and neck in sag.....  WL 50 - Lcc 0........ WL 44 - RC 6 ...... Lcc 20- RC 17 ...... I think it would b impressive if the Kings can meet or beat the spread.... or even....keep it at 3 tds or less......

Not much confidence in the best team South Adam's has ever fielded? I've seen lot's of football, no need to educate me on the difference between a big school and a small one. I understand that West Lafayette hung with a good 6a team. Kudos to them. South Adams is playing at a quality 3a level. In fact they would probably be a top ten 3a team this year. My opinion stands............WL over SA by

Could b ur correct.... sag backs u up... Lcc has alot catching up to do fo shore.. been sayin they ain't ther yet....

I thought about picking LCC, but figured I'd wait until later to strike.  Made that mistake of trying to pick up ground too early a couple of seasons ago and dug the hole too deep.

I only caught the 1st half... but was encouraged by the improvement on the D ... BendNotBreaking ..... they need to buck up again for TL... it baffles me why u and alum dont practice what u preach about Lcc sched strength... I get that they r fairly young.... inexperienced in areas.... but not devoid of talent....

Better than 50-0. Much better actually. South Adams is the team to beat up north.

SA ...IS... the team to beat in the north.... an WL would beat them like a red headed step child!  I hav only said LCC has to keep improving to knock them out... I believe RC is wo their starting. Qb today.... the back up is pretty good... but still taking it with a grain of salt.....

Oh, they’d get the hell beat out them for sure. What I’m asking is how that makes you better? Strength of schedule only matters if you can compete and get something out of it.

I agree.... I believe the sched has advanced this team's play much quicker than if they played a weak one.... sag has them 3 td dogs to the highly ranked bombers... at the half LCC 13. RC 10.... a lotta fb left ... but very encouraging if u a knight fan......

I think LCC fans believe they have a legit chance to make it to Lucas Oil. South Adams would probably be the 5th best team theyd face behind West Laf, Guerin, Rensselaer and potentially western.

Heck. If Pioneer was 1a before the season started youd be shipping the title to RC.

    1a is very wide open.

Clearly ...the road to the can in the north...... is thru SA.

LCC is not quite ready ... yet... they r on the outside... looking in...... jmho

Kind of disappointed the Kings and Bombers won't get to matchup in the regular season. The two have had some great games come down to the wire the last couple of years. Both are playing great football right now. I think it was mentioned LCC was the 2-3 best team in small class football right now. These might be the two teams in front of them right now. Fingers crossed for a regional matchup. Both have some really good contenders in their sectional also.

I know anything can happen come playoff time, but I think there's a pretty good chance we might see 1A, 2A, and 3A north represented by a hoosier conference team. Hats off to the programs and coaches for a great season so far. Very competitive every week (minus maybe WL games).

I think this conference is proof that the everyone making the tournament style of playoffs is beautiful. Test yourself with some really good programs from all different classes so your ready for anything come playoff time. Always gives you a chance to compete with very skilled teams. I know Cass wouldn't have played Eastbrook as well as they did in the sectional championship had it not been for the schedule they played last year.

Nowlins is betting the Kings and Bombers will play week 9 .... ther a certain symmetry to that me thinks......

    maybe LCC wins 2-0?  :classic_biggrin:

I promise you this, LCC has the Bombers attention, this is absolutely fact.

Our players are well schooled to know the teams they are playing and competing with.  They saw TW score, We have Guerin tape and breakdown from boxscore.   Everyone gets the WL medicine these days, and Tipton is a valid program and they won without much doubt, score being 21-0 at one point that game last week.

I would expect u would Nolins.. 🤭    expect a good game... like foxy says. .. its a pivitol one... for many reasons ... not sure if the knights will b ready when they hit ss.... but am sure with this 3rd stint in the HC...they r much less likly to b upset in sec regional this yr....

LCC's a tough one to figure out using some of the transitive kinds of comparisons that are often done.  Since the move to the Hoosier Conference, LCC has ended up being in a situation where very few direct or even transitive comparisons can be made given their playlist.  LCC will not play a 1A team until the tourney and that tends to be the way it has been.  There are also very few transitive comparisons too as most of the teams that LCC plays in the HC won't play 1A teams during their seasons ... the exception typically being Cass out of the HC East, who typically has played Pioneer as part of their regular schedule, but even then it's only every few years that LCC will play Cass as part of the crossover side of the conference.  LCC's standard West competition is West Lafayette, currently ranked top 5 in 3A, RCHS, currently ranked top 10 in 2A, Twin Lakes and Benton Central in 3A.  Their add-on schedule was Guerin, ranked top 10 3A,  and TriWest in 3A.  They also had a nice showing against Tipton who lost to 2A #1, Cass, 28-7.  This week's game at RCHS will probably tell a lot more about how seriously coming out of north 1A would be for the Knights.

LCC's been in a building phase for the past three seasons, with two coaches and an interim coach in that time, but there's a gel that's starting to form under Nay's leadership that's getting the Knights back to increased competitiveness.  With Pioneer now up in 2A, potentially LCC has a realistic shot at getting to semi-state and, should they get to that level, the odds increase more of getting back to LOS.  Again, I think a lot rides on how LCC plays RCHS this Friday.

No one in the pick em gives em a prayer of grounding the bombers this week.... including Alum.... lol
