Tennis has it's own Colin Kaepernick.......An "older" competitor on a severe losing streak has panic attack after her (much younger) opponent did something she didn't agree with and is calling her action racist..... https://nypost.com/2023/07/20/kiara-toth-zhang-shuai-controversy-takes-racism-twist/ It appears Hungarian Open tournament organizers have found a way to make a growing controversy worse. After video showed Kiara Toth erasing a ball mark on a questionable call and celebrating as her opponent, China’s Zhang Shuai, was forced to retire due to a panic attack, a post on the tournament’s Facebook page appeared to defend the 20-year-old Toth. “(Toth) did not decide if the ball was good or not. It was the decision of the linesman and then the chair umpire,” the post circulating on social media read. “The Hungarian tennis player in the first WTA match of her life may not have behaved in every situation, but she did nothing that could be described as a lack of integrity. And there is no deflection, no misunderstanding. The Chinese are manipulating the world with a manipulative video.”

So am I the only person in the entire United States that believes the Secret Service, the organization tasked with security of the most secure building in the world knows exactly who it was that inadvertently left their stash in one of the most secure locations within that building? Seriously? They knew within the first hour of discovery who had utilized that "cubby" for the past 12 months minimum. Worse yet - If they didn't - then someone destroyed the video recordings (complete with the latest facial recognition technology) before they could be viewed.

Does anyone actually think Unilever is going to just "give it back"? https://www.outkick.com/native-americans-ben-jerrys-land-back-abenaki-nation/ A Native American tribe in Vermont wants its land back from Ben & Jerry’s after the company’s 4th of July message. Instead of celebrating America like the rest of the country, the woke ice cream company decided to spend Independence Day attacking the USA and claiming the country exists on stolen land. Ben & Jerry’s demanded land be returned to Native American people. Well, it might be time for the ice cream company to put its money where its mouth is. Native American tribe demands Ben & Jerry’s returns its land. Nulhegan Band of The Coosuk Abenaki Nation Chief Don Stevens informed Newsweek he’s very interested in getting the land Ben & Jerry’s headquarters is on because it originally belonged to his tribe. He told the publicaltion the tribe was “always interested in reclaiming the stewardship of our lands.” However, Ben & Jerry’s doesn’t seem interested in playing ball. As of Friday, the company had not reached out to Stevens to broker a deal that would see the land return to the original owners. “If and when we are approached, many conversations and discussions will need to take place to determine the best path forward for all involved,” Stevens explained. Ben & Jerry’s headquarters “sits on a vast swathe of U.S. territory that was under the auspices of the Abenaki people before colonization,” according to the same Newsweek report. This was destined to happen. It was only a matter of time before people realized whether or not any Ben & Jerry’s locations or property existed on land previously occupied by Native Americans. Turns out, the company’s headquarters are on land formerly controlled by Native Americans. Yet, as of Saturday, Ben & Jerry’s hasn’t begun the process of demolishing its headquarters in Vermont. Why not? Doesn’t Ben & Jerry’s believe in returning all land in the United States to Native American tribes? That’s what the company declared on the 4th of July. Or was it just woke virtue signaling? Because if the ice cream brand is serious, it should have vacated its headquarters days ago. We’ve reached out to Ben & Jerry’s to see if the land will be returned and what the timeline is to get it done. Stay tuned for any developments.

ISF just heard that MLK JR just rolled over in his grave. https://nypost.com/2023/07/09/liberal-supreme-court-justice-comes-out-in-favor-of-segregation/ Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is trying to put one over on America. In her dissent from the high court’s long-overdue ruling against racial preferences in college admissions, she cited an utterly bogus statistic. “For high-risk Black newborns, having a Black physician more than doubles the likelihood that the baby will live,” she wrote in rationalizing Harvard’s bigotry against Asian-American applicants. Yet that black-infant mortality number is obvious bunk. If it were true, it would mean thousands of black infants dying every year thanks to white doctors’ secret racism. And other issues (such as the awful racial disparity in very-low-birthweight babies) dwarf any MD factor. Brown Jackson herself is no dummy. She’s a lifelong academic overachiever, a grad of both Harvard and Harvard Law. Did she really not recognize a garbage stat simply because it confirms her worldview? She basically just quoted a brief filed in support of Harvard, but didn’t look back at the study the brief cited, which doesn’t make the absurd claim: It found a minuscule difference, and also a hair of a higher mortality rate for black doctors treating white newborns. Follow the the justice’s “logic” to its ugly conclusion, and she’s calling for racially segregated medical care. Happily, the Supremes kiboshed the “separate but equal” farce decades ago. In the clear light of day, Brown Jackson’s dissent on affirmative action just reaffirms the majority’s wisdom in at long last striking it down.

BR is right though, (IMHO) the B&J Ice Cream itself is mediocre, but the concoctions and different flavorings of built-in toppings is almost divine. So the level of left-wing craziness you need to come up with some of that stuff is to be expected and tolerated.

SF normally keeps the Edy's single serving size tubs from the Dollar General by the house handy in the freezer, and on occasion they get in the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ben & Jerry's that I like as well. This story won't change SF's penchant for good B & J ice cream, but I have to wonder why, if you are a company that makes great ice cream, don't you just stick to that instead of letting some idiot marketing person pop off a personal attitude tweet about your resident country and alienate (probably more than half) your market? Seriously, you just cost your Corporate ownership a load of money and some goodwill that is tough to come by and tough to hold onto...... https://nypost.com/2023/07/06/ben-jerrys-boycott-calls-unilever-stock-falls/ Ben & Jerry’s parent company has lost roughly $2.5 billion in market cap amid calls to boycott the Vermont-based ice cream maker over a July 4 tweet condemning the US for existing on “stolen Indigenous land.” Shares of Unilever, the Anglo-Dutch multinational firm, slid as much as 1% at Thursday’s opening bell after closing down .5% the previous day. The company’s stock price has fallen to roughly $51 after closing at $52.28 during Monday’s shortened trading — and the day before Ben & Jerry’s posted its unpatriotic tweet. The result has seen its market cap drop to $131 billion from the roughly $133.5 billion on Monday. Ben & Jerry’s, which was acquired by Unilever but whose board remains independent in voicing its views on political issues, said the July 4 celebrations can “distract from an essential truth about this nation’s birth.” “This 4th of July, it’s high time we recognize that the US exists on stolen Indigenous land and commit to returning it,” the brand’s official Twitter account and a statement on Ben & Jerry’s website trumpeted. “The faces on Mount Rushmore are the faces of men who actively worked to destroy Indigenous cultures and ways of life, to deny Indigenous people their basic rights.” The tweet and the statement prompted social media users to call for a boycott of the ice cream maker — echoing the reaction to Bud Light’s recent partnership with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney. “Make @benndjerrys Bud Light again,” one Twitter user commented. “Just when you think @benandjerrys couldn’t go any lower – they pull this stunt. Boycott Ben and Jerry’s,” another Twitter user wrote. On Wednesday, Unilever was called out for its hypocrisy over continuing to sell its Cornetto ice cream and other products in Russia in defiance of calls to exit the country over its invasion of Ukraine — while criticizing the US. Last year, Unilever’s subsidiaries paid $331 million in taxes to the Kremlin, according to reports. Unilever has defended its decision to continue operations in Russia, saying that leaving the country is “not straightforward.” If the company pulled up stakes and left Russia, its 3,000 employees and its brands “would be appropriated — and then operated — by the Russian state,” according to the statement. “In addition, we do not think it is right to abandon our people in Russia,” the firm said. The Post has sought comment from Unilever and Ben & Jerry’s. Ben & Jerry’s has been the subject of prior boycott calls over its refusal to sell its ice cream in the Israeli settlements built on the West Bank. The company ended up suing its corporate parent after it sold the famous brand to a local Israeli licensee who resumed selling ice cream under the Ben & Jerry’s name.

Justice Jackson's comment "Colorblindness for all" is/was the mantra of the black community that ISF was brought up believing in the 70's. Skin color didn't matter, and that was the basis of MLK - equality for all. "Deeming race irrelevant in law does not make it so in life" - Sorry, but skin color (among countless other identity traits) truly shouldn't matter. The past 2 decades of government efforts to divide the population in as many identity groups as possible needs to be called out every chance we can by the population reuniting. Finally SCOTUS is (IMHO) on the right track.

Hmmm - So, when did Russia get into a war with Iraq? Was ISF sleeping? https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/biden-putin-losing-war-iraq-ukraine-latest-gaffe/story?id=100451751 Twice in 24 hours President Joe Biden misspoke when discussing the Russian invasion of Ukraine, referring to it instead as the war "in Iraq." The first apparent gaffe occurred Tuesday when Biden was courting Democratic donors at a fundraiser in Chevy Chase, Maryland. "Think about this: If anybody told you -- and my staff wasn't so sure, either -- that we'd be able to bring all of Europe together in the onslaught on Iraq and get NATO to be completely united, I think they would have told you it's not likely," Biden said. "The one thing Putin counted on was being able to split NATO." The second mistake happened Wednesday as Biden departed Washington for Chicago, where he delivered a major speech on his economic philosophy. On the South Lawn, Biden was asked about whether Russia's Vladimir Putin is weakened after a short-lived mutiny by Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin. The rebellion, in which Prigozhin's armed forces marched toward Moscow, represented the most significant risk to Putin's authority in his decades in power. "It's hard to tell, but [Putin's] clearly losing the war in Iraq, losing the war at home. And he has become a bit of a pariah around the world," Biden told reporters. The White House has not addressed Biden's slips. President Joe Biden arrives at O'Hare International Airport, June 28, 2023, in Chicago. Evan Vucci/AP Biden's long been prone to such gaffes verbal blunders, even predating his presidency. Biden's critics and Republicans have often seized on the miscues as an opening to criticize his age and question his fitness for office. At 80, Biden is the oldest sitting president in history and would be 82 if reelected and sworn in for a second term. Former President Donald Trump, the early Republican front-runner, just turned 77 and would be 79 at the time of his swearing-in were he to win the general election. As he's faced scrutiny about his health and age after announcing his reelection campaign, Biden's often responded with a common refrain: "Watch me." Biden previously told ABC News he took a "hard look" at his age himself when weighing whether to run for reelection and respects Americans doing the same. "I took a hard look at it before I decided to run, and I feel good," Biden told ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce in April. "I feel excited about the prospects, and I think we're on the verge of really turning the corner in a way we haven't in a long time."

Trans Totalitarianism: Time For Moral Panic

Be gay if you want - The overwhelming majority of the US population really don't care a person's sexual preference/orientation until it's waved in their faces non-stop by the fringes. ISF has 2 very good friends whose wonderful kids have grown into adulthood and are gay. One is trans (born female - but is identifying male) the other is just a gay guy. Both are wonderful people who just want to live their lives with their significant others. Both mainstream, well educated and have enviable careers, but neither want to be affiliated with this fringe left-wing assumption that they are marginalized because of who they are. Neither has been back to a "Pride" event for years because of the "debauchery" they both described as being very uncomfortable. My only issue is remembering to call the cute little girl Mrs. ISF & I remember all the years growing up - "He" instead of "She". Admittedly it is easier now that "He" has a full beard. (Which is more than ISF can grow - mine is very scraggly and not at all attractive) https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/anti-lgbtq-backlash-puts-a-chill-on-corporate-america-s-rhetoric/ar-AA1dcHEG (Bloomberg) -- Anti-LGBTQ protests targeting brands like Target Corp. and Bud Light have cast a broader chill across corporate America. For the first time in years, company mentions of “Pride Month” and other LGBTQ terms were on the decline in regulatory filings and earnings calls, a Bloomberg News analysis found. References to “Pride Month” in filings, presentations and transcripts from April to June at more than 900 of the largest US companies dropped almost 40% from this time last year, the first decline in five years. Other LGBTQ terms showed similar declines, the analysis found. “We’re in a toxic stew of a backlash against LGBTQ people, primarily trans people,” said Bob Witeck, a consultant who helps companies such as Walmart Inc. and Marriott International Inc. craft LGBTQ-friendly policies. Protests against brands with LGBTQ-themed merchandise or marketing campaigns escalated ahead of this year’s June Pride Month. Target reported violent attacks against employees and beer drinkers boycotted Bud Light for its work with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Witeck referred to this rise in violence and anger directed at the community as the “Spring of Ugly.” While some companies, like Target and the Danish food ingredients maker Chr. Hansen Holding A/S, capitulated to the threats, many others went ahead with unchanged Pride Month plans. But, Witeck said, “they were less vocal about it.” -

So So at what point does ISF's position (backed by decades of scientific proof) that there are only 2 genders make me an "enemy" (ie - a prejudiced, ignorant bigot) to the LGBTQ + - constituencies? Good to know. -

The ISF (Ignorant SwordFish) doesn't object to anyone's sexual preference. However, I was brought up under the scientific rule that there are 2 biological genders. Just because an individual CHOOSES to dress a certain (flamboyant) way, identify their character in a certain way or is attracted to someone else outside of the ordinary male/female coupling doesn't mean they get to redefine genders - BTW, Sorry if the term "homosexual" offends you. -
