  1. Marion @ Mississinewa Will be a close game. I think Mississinewa wins on a late score. Oak Hill @ Bellmont Oak Hill is playing good football. They win pretty convincingly. Maybe win by 3-4 TD's Alexandria @ Eastern This game all depends on the weather. If it's raining and windy, Eastern in a rout! If Alexandria can throw the ball, it's a closer game, but Eastern still wins. Lapel @ Frankton A runaway for Lapel. Running clock in second half. Tipton @ Elwood A runaway for Tipton. Running clock in second half. Blackford @ Eastbrook Eastbrook wins with ease. Again, a running clock in second half.
  2. Also, as a side note for Frankton, I would not kick to Naselroad. He has not had a good year running, but has done well in KO returns. In a close game, that could make a difference since most teams are lax in that area.
  3. I don't think there will be any close games. Alexandria may score on Eastern, but if Eastern throws the ball, Alexandria will be doomed. Also, Alexandria can't run the ball against anyone, so if it's a bad weather night, they're in trouble. Weather will hurt both teams, since they like to pass. I also believe Alexandria will beat Frankton in a high scoring game.
  4. Eastbrook @ Madison Grant -- Eastbrook takes the next 2 weeks to prepare for Tipton in round 2 of sectionals. Adamson will fine tune their game. Wins with a running clock in second half. MG will not give up. They play with heart! Frankton @ Alexandria -- Alexandria wins in a high scoring game - 46-30. Alexandria will control the game. Sadly neither team is playing with any heart from what I've seen on video. Saw Alexandria the past 2 weeks on youtube and there was no heart on defense. Even the upper classman gave up. That was sad. Both schools need changes! Mississinewa @ Elwood -- Ole Miss wins with a running clock. They are getting better, but are a year away from being a good team. Elwood is playing with heart as well. But they will not be able to hang with a bigger and faster team. Oak Hill @ Blackford -- this may be a closer game. Oak Hill is playing well, but beating the bottom feeders of the CIC. They want to claim outright second place in the CIC. Have a great weekend!
  5. Alexandria @ Oak Hill - I think Alexandria will battle Oak Hill, since I'm not overly impressed with Oak Hill's offense. Even though Oak Hill has a better defense, most teams don't face passing offenses. Alexandria will make it close, but I say Oak Hill wins 30-22. Blackford @ Mississinewa - Ole Miss is strating to play better. Of course, the competition has not been very good. But I think Campbell has a big day and they beat Blackford 35-21 Elwood @ Eastbrook - Congrats to Elwood! Great comeback and victory. They are improving! Great to see! Sadly, they get Eastbrook, then Mississinewa as their rewards. Eastbrook wins 62-16 Madison Grant @ Frankton - Should be a close game. I think MG will pull it out with a late score and hold Frankton for the win. 34-29. HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND STAY HEALTHY
  6. Long time lurker and first time contributor . . . Been in the area for over 15 years and sadly I've seen the quality of many sports decrease. The CIC is very weak in football. My thoughts on games and schools is below. I've seen every team play this year. Alexandria @ Mississinewa - Mississinewa is not great but in a weak conference they should win out. Alexandria does not have much heart, which was evident last week. Campbell should have a career day, since they are really bad on defense. Mississinewa BIG! Blackford @ Eastbrook - Blackford may keep it close for a quarter. But Eastbrook will take over and control the game. Eastbrook easily wins by 28. Frankton @ Oak Hill - Oak Hill is not very good offensively, but their defense plays well. Frankton will challenge them for a quarter, but Oak Hill will run over them. Oak Hill passing game does not impress me. Madison Grant @ Elwood - This should be the only game without a running clock. It should be competitive. Both are improving teams. But I think MG will win this by about 10 points. Thoughts on schools (alphabetically) - Alexandria - they have been constantly underachieving. They've had really good athletes, but it does not happen in football. They should have won a sectional or two, but there are reasons they have not. I don't see that changing. They have some decent younger kids coming up, but don't know if that will mean more wins. Blackford - I was thrilled they were winning games the past few years. It was a terrible program in most sports. They're back to struggling again. Low numbers and maybe some apathy. I'm hoping they can regain the momentum they had from 2 years ago. Eastbrook - They are the class of the CIC. They have been for many years. They have a great system. They don't care about winning at JH level, just teach the boys technique and develop them into football players. Other coaches should learn from what they are doing. Elwood - They had decent players in the past, and too many coaching changes in a system with no money. That doesn't help their cause. I'm glad they have a new coach who has a vision for the future. They are getting better, but not sure they will win this year. If they don't beat MG this week, they end with Eastbrook and Ole Miss . . . Ouch! Frankton - what boggles my mind is that they have a lot of heart in other sports. Reminds me a bit of Alexandria. Some of their other teams are really competitive, but football has been suffering the past few years. I hope their JH can perform in high school, but that's a few years away. Again, coaching is an issue at most of these schools. Madison Grant - I'm glad they are playing hard. They seem to always play with heart. Coaching seems to be helping them, as with Elwood. They should beat Elwood, then Frankton. They are improving, which is good for the CIC. Mississinewa - They have usually struggled in sectionals. The CIC is not the right place for them if they want to prepare for a sectional run. It's usually watered down competition for them. Change in coaches seems to have hurt them a bit, but they should win out in conference, although Blackford may give them a battle next week. Oak Hill - I'm generally impressed with their program. I think they have a coach who gets it. Coach Bud seems to rally the boys and they come on stronger as the season progresses. They have a chance to win out in the CIC. Just some random thoughts on a kool Friday!
