If our offense plays like they did last night, we aren't beating Zionsville. 3 more stalled red zone drives resulting in 3 field goal attempts.

When our D completely shuts down the other team like they did last night (-38 total rushing yards!!), we have to capitalize. New Pal has an excellent young NT, but we needed to spread the ball better. 1 catch for our tight ends is not gonna get it done.

100% true....offense was not very good last night.  Defense was excellent.

    That was mean for StatQueen

  3. Kyle Neddenriep from the Indy Star predicts Zionsville 30, Fort Wayne Dwenger 23.

I have not seen Dwenger play so I have no idea honestly.....other than Dwenger has a solid tradition.  I agree, this will be a great game, potentially decided by a TD.  Once you get to the playoffs anything can happen.

To any Trojans making the drive to Evansville, here is some places to eat before the game nearby, either the night before or tailgating:

    Kipplees on N Boeke RD

    Turoni’s on N Weinbach Ave

Pizza by the Slice on Lincoln Ave

Steve’s Una Pizza on Washington Ave

There’s also a Little Ceaser’s on Washington too, for the tailgaters

Some options on Green River Road (intersects Washington):

    Hoosier Burger

    G D Ritzy’s

    Azzip Pizza

    Rafferty’s

    Cheddars

    Pangea off of Green River

On Burkhardt, one of my favorites for wings is Mister B’s and Drakes has great food too. And other options too

Turoni's, great pizza and beer!  Love that place.

You are forgetting that our red-neck south side second cousins are running through 4A. Someone needs to make sure the Rebels/Royals don't get any more state titles than they deserve. But, generally, I agree with you.

As for success factor gerrymandering, we never know what the IHSAA will do with us. It's why we don't go out of our way to petition anything.

Well, since last year never counted, the new 2 year cycle will begin in Summer 2022 supposedly. I need to look more into this, since not counting last year screwed up a lot of things

    Here on the SF details
    https://www.ihsaa.org/Portals/0/ihsaa/documents/Tournament Success Factor/Tournament Success Factor Provisions.pdf

I am confused also....since last year didn't count, Cathedral wont move up next year unless they lobby to move up.  Is that accurate?  That was my understanding since last year didn't count.  Again, I am confused and could be easily be wrong.  Thanks.

Westfield (10-1) at Carroll (Fort Wayne) (10-1)
GAME TIME: 8 pm ET, Gorsuch Complex.
COACHES: Jake Gilbert, 82-47 in 11th year at Westfield, 112-83 in 17th year overall. Doug Dinan, 90-44 in 12th year at Carroll.
    SAGARIN RATINGS: Westfield, 101.76, 3rd overall, 2nd in 6A. Carroll, 85.1, 20th overall, 11th in 6A.
LAST OUTING: Westfield defeated Hamilton Southeastern, 24-22. Carroll defeated Warsaw, 36-0.
OPPONENTS' RECORDS: Westfield 66-51. Carroll 56-57.
SERIES LAST 35 YEARS: No meetings.
    jh PREDICTION: Westfield, 35-24.

It's that time of the year again where we get to see what 6A in Fort Wayne can do against an Indy school.

Two very good QBs, but Westfield's O-Line looked MASSIVE. This will be Carroll's biggest challenge of the year, and they are playing their best football.

Could you please point me to John Harrell's website that shows predictions?  I dont seem to be able to locate it.  Thank you.

Okay,  first, I'll put it out there.  This is "kind" of a legit game....despite Chatard being a huge underdog (and I think the only distant threat to Roncalli...outside of East Central).  I was reluctant to post it because I generally refuse to call attention to my team of favor (Sorry, Chatard folks are just not like Cathedral fans....we have some modicum of self-awareness and humility...looking forward to the upcoming contretemp that "We are the MOST humble" from Cathedral folks....thinking the subtlety will escape their ego...it's why I love them).

Still, this, if it goes down like the first game, it's between the number 1 and 3 teams in 4A (per Sags and CalPreps...although I think it's actually between #1 and #2 in 4A).

I consider this the 4A Game of the Week although I also consider Chatard the HUGE underdog in this game.....kind of like last year against Merrillville with their 10+ D1 players.   That said, Roncalli isn't Merrillville.  Roncalli isn't soft (like Merrillville last year) and they know how dangerous Chatard can be.  Roncalli is well coached and simply a BEAST of a team.

Chatard was the last team to beat Roncalli which was last year (28-7....which really didn't reflect the closeness of the game in my opinion).  This year they played Roncalli closer than anyone else has so far.  For anyone who has seen game film, Chatard looks like a Freshman team lining up against the varsity in that game vs. Roncalli (which says a lot more about the HUGE size of Roncalli than the size of Chatard).

I'm hoping this game is as good as it can be but it is clearly Roncalli's game to lose.  In my opinion, they are literally a Top 5 team All Classes this year.  I would have loved to have seen them play some of the teams Chatard did this year like Warren Central and Cathedral.  I think it would have secured their spot in the Top 5 if they had.

Also, as an aside, to address some of the recent posts I have seen on other threads.  The 2019 Chatard team was a Top 5 team All Classes (CalPreps had them as #3 All Classes/Sagarin Predictor had them as #5 All Classes).  The 2020 team wasn't a Top 5 team in my opinion but certainly Top 10 All Classes  (CalPreps had them as #6 All Classes/#9 Sagarin Predictor/#6 Sagarin Golden Mean).

I’m hoping it is as good a game as it can be.  Honestly, I think it’s the State Championship…outside of East Central.  We’ll see.

    Go Trojans.

This is going to be a hell of a game.....I am pulling for the Trojans in an upset but I kind of agree, its Roncalli's game to lose.

Please point to where I said the 2019 Cathedral team was the greatest of all time.  I'll wait.

You want us to say that the 2019 New Pal team beat a 2019 Cathedral team team that is better than the 2020 team (and the 2021 team) that beat LaSalle and Elder by a lot and St. X by a score all in the same year.  Not to mention a lopsided state title victory....Not a watered down Covid year buddy beating those Ohio teams last year.  The 2019 team that New Pal beat was solid, but not near as good as the 2020 or 2021 team.  Does that spell it out for you?
