I agree, Tech has a phenomenal facility. Not sure it is an option to Cathedral anymore.
Just thought it was ironic for a Roncalli fan of all people to chime in. Roncalli dropped Cathedral after a few drubbings awhile back and now wants to dictate where Cathedral hosts a game?
Ha. Now that if funny...and true!

Good game, agree give Columbus North credit more than was due, and realizing they have played a murderous schedule (#1 Gibson Southern in 3A, #1 Rocalli in 4A, and now #1 Cathedral in 5A) they obviously played with nothing to lose and everything to gain and good luck to them down the stretch as this will help them more than will hurt them.
Watching their band perform at halftime was in itself worth the trip down from Indy.
I can't believe we had two dropped punt returns by our returners that resulted in fumbles which North recovered. Top teams in the state DO NOT DO THAT. One was even called a fair catch and he still dropped it, which is very troubling as we are mid-season making mistakes that we should not be making.
Agreed on the dropped punts....not acceptable. Mistakes need to be cleaned up immediately.

First of all this was the darkest playing field I've seen in my 66 years of watching Cathedral football. It had to be tough to see on the field.
It was good to see the Irish running game get in gear. The Irish ran for more than 250 yards, and Seth Mencer must've had 150 of those yards. Also sophomore Hosia Smith gave the Irish a late boost running the ball and scoring his first varsity TD. Hats off to the OL for opening those holes.
I thought the same thing. I have never seen a field so dark. Don't forget about Junior #21 with 50 yards on 7 carries. He hits the hole faster than any back on Cathedra's team

It's time to warm up the team bus and head south. I hope to see a lot of Irish fans in the stands tonight.
I'll. be making the hour trip down south to support the IRISH.

Love Zwanzigs. Stumbled across this place when I went to a Roncalli vs Mater Dei girls basektball game years ago at a Columbus tournament.
Good pizza and the wife loves their mix of chocolate stout and blueberry ale. Need to go there again.
Zwanzigs in one of my favorite spots. Great beer and pizza!

Ha. No. Carmel only agrees to a 1 year contract every few years as a measuring stick game. They've never played us at home.
When they lose by 4 touchdowns like last year, they run for the hills and attribute the defeat to competitive imbalance though they have 2000 boys compared to Cathedral's 500. Roncalli and Carmel are the two programs that begged out of a great rivalry series so they didn't have to be butt hurt. Roncalli finally sacked up and re-engaged.Should be an awesome new beginning in 2023-24I couldnt have said that better myself!

Cathedral fans, how's the Arlington venue these days? I was there a few years ago last time this game was played there but wasn't sure if Cathedral had put some money/renovations now that this is Cathedral's home field?
The field is in decent shape. Cathedral has put some work in the field.

That's generous, I will be happy if it's not a running clock in the 2nd half. Chatard has shown they will fight until the end, but the Roncalli game showed just how outmatched they are physically this year. Cathedral has Roncalli's size plus great athletes at every position. Chatard will have to wait at least one more week to get their first win.
Have tremendous respect for Chatard. They are considerably better than their 0-3 record.

The boys are looking good this year.. only had 4 penalties for 25 yards this game, that’s a upward trend for this team.
Right....a positive step for the Irish!

If there's a better wide receiver in the state than Jaron Tibbs, I sure would like to see him!
AGREED! He is a beast

Seems the Irish called the dogs off at half.. not too far off on the CG-Carmel score either.
Definitely called the dogs off at halftime. Not many starters played in 2nd half

According to the Cathedral website, tickets will be sold at the gate. If, for some reason, this isn't correct someone please let us know.
I can share the link to purchase if need be. I do think you can buy at the gate though.

Last year against Cathedral?
This is true....that game was 52-7. I'd call that a mercy rule

Watch for the Irish offense to break out. Jr RB C. Johnson is super talented.....should have a monstrous game. The Offense is stack with talent, just need to pull it together and started off the season against 2 really solid defensive teams.
