    Interesting theory.  I had this same conversation earlier this week with a Purdue basketball fan after it was learned that Mason Gillis was only getting a 4 game suspension to start this upcoming college basketball season for a drunk driving incident this summer.  4 games (6 if you count 2 exhibition games which I don't) seemed light to me given the severity of his actions but they argued that we don't know what Coach Painter required of him off the court.  Personally, I think nothing hammers home the point to a player like missing games.  To his credit, Painter did suspend Gillis long enough that he would at least miss one real game on their schedule (North Carolina) but I'd have liked to have seen it be more in the 8-10 games range.  At least it was a bit better than going through the charade of suspending him right up until you have to play a meaningful game.  But when a player does something like Gillis did that shows a blatant disregard for other people, I believe serious consequences are justified.  

    Seems to me like you’re a little more invested in this incident than you’re letting on.  First you were innocently inquiring about the availability of a few players, as if the game would be more competitive.  Now you’re holding public court on these boys and the coach.  Seems a little trollish to me.  Go find another sandbox to play in.

    Ole Miss by a lot.  Panthers shut them down this week, but another week of practice with a new QB will help them get their first win of the season.

    Alex hungry to hopefully get to play this week, were they able to practice at all during the virtual learning period?  Still get the win either way.

    Frankton with an easy win, Elwood still trying to find an offense.

    Game of the night.  Battle of the Undefeated!!!  Can Eastbrook shut down Turanchick, Can Oak Hill slow down the entire Eastbrook offense?

    The Panthers were able to subdue the RB's of Ole Miss last week and I see it happening again this week.  OH may run for a touchdown, but I don't see several from the same person.  Eastbrook takes this by a few touchdowns.

    I agree with your assessment, except for the Eastbrook vs Oak Hill game.  I believe this will be a pretty close game.  It all depends on Oak Hill’s defense.  I think they can slow the Panthers down a little and I think the Golden Eagles will score a couple of times.  In the end it’s Eastbrook by 21 points.  I’m hoping for some good games on Saturday.  It’s always a fun day at Ball State.

    You do realize that I didn’t say anything about how good or bad Eastbrook, Oak Hill, or any CIC team was.  I only said that Rensselaer wasn’t as good as I thought they were.

    I tend to worry about my personal relationship with Jeff more so than what a "Fan/Dad" thinks.  That's why they play 9 regular season games, then EVERYONE gets a playoff game.  

    Your concern about a 3A school at a scrimmage is (in your opinion) as skewed as ME posting that I was at a HCC contest last Friday night.  

    I would worry more about, Tipton, Bishop Luers and Oak Hill than I would about a scrimmage vs. Hamilton Heights.  NO ONE shows their 'arsenal; at a scrimmage.  If they would or do...that's not a program that's very smart.  

    Just my $.02   (That's a 10 year+ response that THIS guy has had....also known as GID cache) 

    Thanks for the advice!  I’ll keep it in mind.  I don’t need to worry about any team.  I don’t play or coach.  I just have an opinion, like you.  Is that alright with you, boss?

    Nope, just telling it like it is.  Eastbrook played their scrimmage against Hamilton Heights and they weren’t very good.  HH beat the Bombers, so that tells me that they aren’t as good as I thought.  You’ll get over it.

    I hope you have a great meal, because I’ve got a feeling that will be the only thing about this evening that you’ll enjoy.  Hamilton Heights doesn’t look like a very tough ball club this year.  It might be a long night against the Bombers.

    Well Mississinewa didn't even play last week due to Covid.  From what I heard, neither them nor Marion could play so the issue was on both sides.  I've heard that not all Grant County schools have handled covid cases appropriately when it comes to athletic teams and events though.  Hopefully all teams are able to play going forward.

    Care to elaborate.  I was referring to injuries not COVID-19.  I would actually like to hear from someone that might have some insight into Eastbrook or Mississinewa.  Thanks.
