Wabash River Conference Week 5
WRC123 replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
What more do you want from the Panthers? They've beat the brakes off of everyone they have played. They can't change who they play good or bad the Panthers are the real deal and I see them making a late playoff push this year. -
Wabash River Conference Week 5

Attica @ FC - Fountain Central has the potential to win out the rest of the season and with the weapons they have that's exactly what I think they will do. FC wins by as much as they want. RP @ NV - The number 1 Sagarin rated Panthers come into North Vermillion and win by as much as they want. This Panthers team might be the biggest and toughest team the WRC has seen since those Seeger teams in the early 2000. Some bad blood between these two teams.. could get ugly before halftime. Hats off to Sanders and all the work he and his staff have put into that program to turn it around. Games of the week Seeger @ PH - I don't know what to think about Seeger. The only team they've played was RP last week and they got thumped. Could be because RP is that good or that Seeger is not as good as what we thought. I think it's a mixture of both. Parke Heritage has played well this season but they have also played no competition. I'll take Parke Hertiage winning in a close one 28-20 SV @ Covington - Both teams aren't great but they have some good athletes to make up for it. Rumor is that the Covington qb went out last week. If that's the case that's a tough loss for them. He's a heck of an athlete. South Vermillion's qb is also one of the better athletes in the conference. I'll take the home team. Covington wins 35-20 -

Looks like I'm a little late to the party... Attica @ PH - It's amazing how much better and consistent you can be when your head coach is around. I'm not too surprised by their early success. Attica will play hard and make the Wovles struggle at times. PH 42-6 NV @ SV - Football is not looking good in Vermillion County for the first time in a long time. Both teams have struggled early on this year. I'll take the home team. SV wins 28-12 FC @ Covington - with all the hype in Fountain County this summer it might be time to ride off into the sunset... In all seriousness Herb does a good job with his teams......... Covington is going to stay undefeated and keep riding that high.. Covington 35-14 Seeger @ RP - Anyone who is discrediting RP doesn't know football. Sanders has done a great job flipping that program around. Ragan has also done a solid job at Seeger. I can see this being close for the first half. The second half will be all RP. They are too big, too fast and too physical. RP wins 38-20 -

Cloverdale @ RP - RP will go undefeated this season. They will win this one by as much as they want and set the tone for the whole season. 60-0 RP Culver @ Attica - The rumor is that Attica is much improved. I'm thinking they start the year off strong winning the first game in at least three years 20-6 FC @ Southmont - Southmont lost a lot of dude the past two year. I think this is the year FC gets their first week 1 win in a while. FC 35 - 21 NV @ North Central - Crabtree's return has Northern Vermillion County excited. They graduated too much talent last year. North Central is still building and I love what their head coach is doing there. Should be a good one. I'll take NV 21-14 PH @ Cville - I haven't heard much about PH this summer. Is their head coach back yet? Cville just isn't a football school. I'll take PH 26-14 Seeger @ LCC - LCC will be too much for a much improved Seeger team. LCC wins 42-20 SV @ West Vigo - SV will not be as bad as people think. SV wins 21-6 Tri County @ Covington - Covington will have low numbers but will play hard. Both of these teams lost a lot last year. Low scoring close game. Covington wins 14-7 -
Wabash River Conference 2025 Outlook
WRC123 replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I think its pretty simple this year 1. RP - Too much to handle and too physical. I believe they will dominate every WRC team this year. They may only pass the ball 20 times all season but that's all they will need to do. Smash mouth football in Panther County this year! 2. FC - Big gap between them and RP. @KAllen this will NOT be a "must see" game. RP will have running clock at halftime. Look for a similar score as last year. 3. Seeger - With everyone they have returning I could see them putting up a fight with FC and end up being #2 4. NV - Only because Crabtree is back. They lost a lot of talent but he'll have them ready to play 5. SV - Coach Miller will figure things out. He's a great guy and I'm hearing that SV is happy to have hired him 6. PH - If they could get some of the basketball athletes out they would be dangerous. 7. Covington - Sounds like a number issue in Covington. After losing a solid senior class it might be rough for a couple years 8. Attica - Hopefully they can keep some games closer this year but I think they are still one year away -

Could not agree with you more! They do not play a tough schedule at all. That doesn't mean they aren't tough because they are very good. I believe this game comes down to a couple things... can RP match SP's physicality and can RP control the clock like they did last week (minus the turnovers). Seeing the Panthers play in person twice now I think they will be able to do both of those things. -

I saw a post saying that SV is paying for the students if they go to the game and they are bringing multiple "fan buses." That can truly have an impact on the game. Both teams should have great crowds tonight and I'm excited for some round 2 match ups! -

South Put @ Covington - South Put wins by as much as they want. They are the real deal. Without Moore I don't think Covington will be able to move the ball much and South Put will do what they want. SV @ Linton - I was going to say Linton by a few scores but the Wildcats have proven me wrong. I wish I could be at this game! Playing at the Roy is different than playing anywhere SV has played. I'll take Linton in a close one 42-40 RP @ NV - NV has not been playing the best but they are still winning. RP has been dominating. I think RP will be looking to get that sour taste out of their mouth and come out swinging. RP wins this one 32 - 21 Will an RP win let them host the championship? -

NP @ SV - Time to see what SV is made of. Who knows, maybe beating up on the 1A schools will be beneficial for them.... I'm taking the undefeated WRC champs to pull off the upset at home. SV wins 35 - 30 Seeger @ Lewis Cass - Don't know anything about Lewis Cass so I'll take Seeger winning by a score Covington @ Attica - What happened with the Moore kid? Ejected for what? Either way Covington wins this one with a running clock. PH @ RP - Different week, same outcome. Panthers are rolling and I can't wait for a RP NV rematch next week. I'll take RP by a running clock and starter out at halftime. FC @ SP - The Mustangs got the only team in the sectional they can't compete with. Not sure any team in the sectional can compete with South Put... Herbie might be able to scheme it to keep them close for about a quarter but that's it. South Put wins it 48 - 12 NV @ NC - I think this one will be closer than the first game of the year. NV hasn't been playing super well and North Central has their qb back. I still think NV wins but it'll be a bit closer. NV wins 42 - 20 -
Wabash River Conference Week 9

Boring week to end the regular season. All the favored teams should win easily. NV @ Seeger - NV wins PH @ FC - FC wins RP @ Covington - RP wins. I am interested to see if the Panthers can contain Moore. SV @ Attica - SV wins -

Cayenne Pepper (Cian Moore) is the best back in the conference and I'll say it right to your face!! Did I do that right @Donnie Baker?? -
Wabash River Conference Week 8
WRC123 replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Only one game with any potential this week. The rest will be running clocks Attica @ Covington - Saw the Moore kid had 390 rushing yards last week... Look for the same stats this week. I've said it once and I'll say it again. Nobody's going to want to play Covington when the sectional rolls around. Covington by as much as they want. FC @ NV - Game of the week. Will Herb be able to get the job done this week or will Arod continue to win? I'm taking the home team. I think the Falcons are playing good football right now and I simply just think they are the better team. I think it'll be close but NV will pull away late. NV wins 35 - 21 PH @ RP - Panthers are rolling. PH did put up a better fight against NV than I thought they would. I know this has been a rival for a while now and I don't see RP being nice when the scoreboard hits zero. I'll take RP 63 - 12 Seeger @ SV - The champs by as much as they want. I believe the sectional draw is this Sunday? Correct me if I'm wrong! I'm excited to see how the draw goes for our WRC teams! -

Speaking of Botner being the best offensive player in the conference. Does the WRC give out post season awards like this? For example coach of the year, offensive/ defensive player of the year. -
Wabash River Conference Week 7
WRC123 replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Nothing crazy this week. In the wise words of @Marshall Mathers this week is boring. NV @ PH - Coach Arod has done a great job taking over the Falcons after the departure of Crabtree. Huge shoes to fill and he exceeded the expectations. NV wins this one 42 -7 RP @ Attica - RP proved me wrong last week. They are much better than anyone thinks. A true contender to win their sectional! Yes. even with South Put in there. No one player is the superstar on their team. Just a bunch of kids knowing their rules and doing their job. Kuddos to Coach Sanders! RP by as much as they want Seeger @ Covington - Covington's RB back in the mix for best RB in the conference? I was told he had close to 400 yards last week! I don't think Seeger will be able to stop him this week. I'll take Covington winning 35 - 21 SV @ FC - From what I'm hearing SV is lucky they didn't play on Friday... Unfortunately for Coach King the weather won't be a factor this Friday. (I do remember a few years back King was supposed to lose to an SV team but he was able to pull off a big upset...) I think FC will be able to keep it close for the first half but the power house Visors are too much. SV wins 42 - 20 -

Chill out there mom's spaghetti. I think the run for third place is something to keep an eye on. I think RP, Seeger, Covington and FC are still are playing for something and can keep things interesting -
Wabash River Conference Week 6

Attica @ NV - NV pulled off a huge win last week. Last I heard they were down 13-0 at halftime I believe. Great win for Arod and the Falcons. I also think the Botner kid is the best back in the conference and one of the best we've seen in a while. NV by as much as they want Covington @ PH - Battle of the dark horses. I think Covington is just better. Better athletes, better lineman but I think PH will want to win more. This one will come down to the last couple of play. Covington 34 PH 30 FC @ Seeger - I want so badly to pick the Herbies on this one.... I know he wants this win BAD. He has yet to beat Seeger since he left them. I think he's going to pull out all the tricks on this one. Sadly, I just don't think it'll be enough. The winning streaks ends for the Mustangs on Friday. (If it was at FC I'd take them) Seeger wins this one 28 - 21 RP @ SV - I think we all hope this game will be closer than what it actually will be. SV will have a running clock in the second half. -
Wabash River Conference Week 5
WRC123 replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Covington @ SV - SV by as much as they want. I agree, running clock the rest of the regular season (maybe RP will hold their own) FC @ Attica - The legend Herb King got his 200th career win last week and he'll be getting win 201 this week. FC wins by as much as they want but I see Herbie taking the starters out early to get rested up for the big one next week. PH @ Seeger - If this was at PH I'd take them but with it being at Seeger I'm taking the home team. Seeger wins 28 - 20 NV @ RP - Game of the week! I was surprised NV did not put up more points last week and I was surprised by how much RP beat Seeger. I think RP's defense will be too much for the NV offense. RP will ground and pound this one out for the win. RP 30 NV 21 -

Covington @ FC - FC took another beating last Friday. Does anyone know if the Foxworthy kid is back playing qb yet? Covington looked decent against NV at times and I think they are just the better team overall. Covington wins this one 28 - 7 PH @ Attica - PH gets their first win of the season. 32 - 6 RP @ Seeger - RP keeps surprising me. Is FC that bad or is RP legit? I'm thinking a little bit of both. I'll take RP winning this one 30 - 12 SV @ NV - Game of the week. I think NV will keep it close for about a quarter or two but the Wildcats are too much. SV runs away with this one 42 - 21
