  1. After week 1 of conference play I think that my rankings were off a little bit.....

Covington @ FC - This will be a close one if FC can slow down Covington offense. Watching FC last week I'm not sure they can score a ton of points. King gets his first FC win 26-20

    PH @ Attica - PH wins 35-12

RP @ Seeger - Before week one I would've thought this would be a good game... After watching RP last week I think they win this one by a couple scores. RP 32 Seeger 14

SV @ NV - Game of the week. I don't know if defensively NV can slow down SV, but NV can score a ton of points. I think this will be a high scoring game and a fun one to watch. NV 42 SV 38

The RP/FC game was hard fought between the two teams.  Both teams played hard and a late score by RP sealed the game.   I can confirm that up 6 with 3:00 to go and the ball, RP did have their starters in the game.

RP and FC was a great game. I think both teams played well and neither team has reached their true potential yet. Both will be much improved by the time playoffs start.

Looking at stats on MaxPreps, the RP kid did have a big game, but only on 14 carries. He must be starving to death if he only got 14 carries and ended up with 250+ yards and 5 TDs

He actually had 16 carries, according to MaxPreps. I wasn't referring to the amount of carries, but when he was getting those carries. I recall RP being up I think 35 points in the fourth quarter and they still kept giving him the ball. Put the young bucks in and let them get some playing time

  4. Best thing about this week is that at least more than one conference team will win!

FC @ RP - After watching RP play last week I hope FC pulls this on out. With that being said, the running back #24 for RP is pretty darn good. If any team can stop him they will have a chance to win. I'm going with FC 27 RP 20

NV @ Covington - After Covington's bad loss last week I think NV will beat them badly. NV will be better coached and prepared for this game. I'll take NV 35-14

Seeger @ Attica - Seeger looks to bounce back and win big after a horrible loss last week. Seeger wins 50-12

SV @ PH - After watching PH last week I don't think they'll have a chance against SV. SV will move the ball however that want. SV win 34-12

I went to two games last week. I went to PH vs West Vigo. Safe to say that PH will struggle the rest of the season. I also went to the RP game and the team they played was terrible. Most of the kids were home schooled and only practiced a couple times a week. RP was up big and left the starters in the whole game and kept feeding their stud running back..

    Pre-Conference play rankings

  5. Attica at Tri County - Tri County wins but I'm rooting for Attica

Fountain Central at Crawfordsville - Looks like it might be another long season for the mustangs. Crawfordsville wins 24-8

Linton at North Vermilion - Linton is too tough for any WRC team. Linton win 55-12

Seeger at Benton Central - I got Seeger winning this one 34-12. Heard BC is not very good this year.

South Newton at Covington - I noticed that the Keller kid did not play last week for Covington, is he playing this year? The kid was a stud last year! I'll take Covington 44-14. Heard that the young qb for Covington looked pretty good in week 1.

South Vermilion at Sullivan - I think this has potential to be the game of the week. SV seems to be much improved defensively and offensively they haven't lost a step. Sullivan will be too much for the wildcats.. Sullivan wins 28-20

West Vigo at PH - If SV and Sullivan isn't the game of the week then this one is. PH surprises some people in this game and walk away winners.. 27-21

Grand Valley Christians at RP - I don't know anything about GVC but I'm guessing they aren't worth a darn, seems like RP couldn't find much competition in the non-conference games. When will we know if they are legit or not??? RP wins 40-12

I reckon I’ll do this and see if there’s any WRC fans left

    Covington at Indy Washington

    Crawfordsville at Attica

    LCC at Seeger

    Linton at Parke Heritage

    North Central at North Vermilion

    Riverton Parke at Pike Central

    Soutmont at Fountain Central

    West Vigo at South Vermilion

Covington @ Indy Washington - I don't know anything about Indy Washington, but I've heard that Covington looked below average during their scrimmage. I'll take Covington in a low scoring game

Crawfordsville @ Attica - I'm just glad Attica had enough to make a team! I'd hate to lose them in the WRC. Crawfordsville wins this one

LCC @ Seeger - LCC wins in a blow out

Linton @ PH - I've also heard that the Wolves won't be as bad as some people are thinking they'll be. But Linton is Linton and they win this one by as many as they want

NC @ NV - NV is my pick to win the WRC this year. I think the kid they have at quarterback might be one of the best athletes in the conference this year. NC also lost a lot of really got skill players.. NV wins big

RP @ PC - Is it the Panthers year?? Rumor is that they had some move ins from the Terre Haute this year and they looked pretty good in their scrimmage. I think RP will be a top three team this year and their running back is a stud. RP wins

Southmont @ FC - I'd like to see how King has the Mustangs looking this year.. Heard they are low on numbers and Southmont is the real deal. They did not lose much last year. I hope the Hall of Famer can get FC back on track. Southmont wins this one

WV @ SV - SV lost a ton last year but I'm hearing that Garzolini's brother is playing qb as a sophomore and might even be better than is big brother.. If thats the case I'm taking SV in this one.

  7. PH @ RP - I don't think this game will be close at all.. PH finally gets that sectional championship they've been searching for.. Starters will be out before the 4th quarter starts and RP will score a late td... PH 48 RP 12

Still can't believe Covington lost last week... Did it rain that much to stop their throwing attack??

PH wins and will unfortunately have to play the winner of Lutheran and Covenant Christian... If Lutheran and PH both win would that give the Wolves a home regional game?

  8. SP @ PH - I think PH has got the ball rolling here to end the season.. I don't think SP will have enough power to keep up with the Wolves... but PH oline has struggled against big strong dlines.. PH just has to give Johnson enough time to get it out to one of their play makers... I can't wait to hear that wolves howl a million times on Friday night..... PH 36 SP 20

There's still a decent chance for rain on Friday.... Coach Moore better be praying to the rain gods that it doesn't...

Covington @ RP - I don't think RP has a chance in this one. They've only been able to beat really bad teams so far this year and Covington is far from a really bad team. This game will be a blow out like it was couple weeks ago.  Covington 45 RP 12

Covington against PH in the sectional championship. Should hopefully be a much better game then when they played in week 2. Should see lots of points up on the board.

  9. Pretty easy and laid back Sectional for week 1

PH @ Attica - PH will put it on Attica early and have the varsity in by the second half.. Looks like Johnson and co might have things rolling at the right time. PH 62 Attica 12

NV @ SP - Only game with any excitement to it this week.. I think NV has enough and will be coached well enough to keep this game close in the first half...  but SP pulls away late to win 35 - 20

FC @ Covington - Last time these two played Karrfalt threw for 485 yards and 5 touchdowns... The Keller has 345 and 5 touchdowns.... I don't see the Mustangs being able to stop the Trojans passing attack and there's no way FC can out score them.. Covington 44 FC 24

RP @ Cloverdale - Won't be as bad as the first time they played.. RP saves the legs for the matchup with Covington 42 - 12

    2 A games

Don't know much about the teams they are playing but both Speedway and Seeger are both ranked

    Speedway 35 Seeger 7

    LCC 46 SV 30

  10. Attica @ SV - The D1s finish the season 4-5 and win by as much as they want.

Covington @ RP - This one might be close for about a quarter but you can't stop Karrfalt and co. for a whole game. Trojans pass all over the Panthers and win 54 - 20. Looked at the stats and Karrfalt is 350 yards from 3000 passing yards this season and I see him going well over 350 this week. I said it last week and I'll say it again, Covington is the sleeper in the sectional. With the draw they got they might just win it all.

FC @ PH - FC showed us last week that they have improved but they aren't there yet... maybe next year.... PH wins this by as much as they want. If I'm a wolves fans I'm a little worried going into the sectional with all this drama surrounding them. PH 63 FC 12

Seeger @ NV - Only game this week with any excitement. NV will be well prepared but I think Seeger wins this one. Hopefully a good game. Seeger 30 NV 24

  11. Attica @ South Newton - Saw South Newton was 3-4 and I know Attica is down so I'm going to take the team with the better record.. SN 33 Attica 6

North Vermillion @ Fountain Central - I remember when this game was basically the conference championship.. now its the battle for the middle.. NV looks to be pretty tough offensively. The qb is decent and the Tryon kid has really stuck out this year. For FC they have to find a way to put points on the board.. They haven't been able to do it at all this year and I'm not sure it'll happen this week either. NV 42 FC 20

Riverton Parke @ Parke Heritage - Does this count as the Bridge Fest Bowl?? Parke Heritage will win this game by at least 4 scores. I see RP keeping it close in the first quarter but the Wolves are just too much to handle. Johnson will throw all over the defense and RP running back can't do it all. PH 63 RP 14

South Vermillion @ Seeger - The coaching struggles may continue in Seeger but they always play hard and come ready to play.. South Vermillion looks like they got their D1 qb rolling just in time for sectionals though. He threw for 3 tds and rushed for one last week. I see him to continue to play well into the post season. SV 35 Seeger 20

Tri - County @ Covington - Mr. Karrfalt and the Trojans add to those passing statistics this week.. He'll throw for 350+ yards, rush for 100 and score 6+ total touchdowns.. Covington is my sleeper for the sectional.. I don't want to draw Covington if I'm in this sectional.. Covington 64 TC 21

I think Woody is doing a great disservice to a lot of other great pizza joints in the WRC.  To name a few:  Palucci’s in Cayuga, Overpass in Covington, Up the Creek across from TR state park, Paradise Pizza/Bowling in Clinton, Arnis in Pine Village, Blue and Gold Pizza in Veederburg.  The WRC may be the SEC of Indiana High School football, but it’s the ACC of pizza places.

Let's not forget our local gas station pizzas.... Casey's and Hunt's Brothers

Is he being recruited by any D1 programs? The qb of South Vermilions has been since his sophomore year. If you’re a D1 recruit you’re probably the best player in your conference. State law.

Who is he being recruited by? I had no clue he was being recruited by D1 schools

  14. Covington @ Attica - Covington by as much as they want... Karrfalt continues to show why he's the best player in the conference.

FC @ SV - This game is kind of interesting just because of how close FC played Seeger on Friday. If FC doesn't let the qb throw all over them they might have a chance in this one. The running back from FC is second in the conference in rushing yards as of now.. Two different style of football being played in this game. One wants to throw and play no defense and the other wants to run and try to play defense... I'll take SV 28 - 12

PH @ NV - Potential to be the game of the week but I believe PH has too many athletes and is overall just a better team then the Falcons. The qb for PH will play this week and he will throw all over the Falcons. NV will put up some points but will sadly lose the game.. PH 56 NV 28

RP @ North Central - I'll take the Panthers in a tough game this week. RP's running back will run wild against the T-Birds and RP wins 24 - 12

Sheridan @ Seeger - Good game here. I know nothing about Sheridan but they are usually pretty good and they put up 66 points last week.. considering Seeger played FC that close last week I'll take Sheridan to win 34 - 20

Is FC actually getting better, or did Seeger have a bad game? Maybe Hall has finally got that program back on track after all...

Will Crabtree be able to hold the Wolves offense enough to keep the game close?

If Karrfalt is the best player in the conference... who is the second best?

Nobody not named Adams Central can stop the juggernaut Wolfs offense.  D1’s have given up 60 twice and 36 to Falconmart.  The century mark is a legitimate outcome tonight for the Wolfs.

From what I've heard, Christian Johnson will not be playing tonight... I think with him off the field SV might have a chance to win tonight...

I guess I just don't understand... What is RP prentending to be? A good team? No one would accuse them of being a championship caliber team. A term that has been thrown around a lot when mentioning the team from Rockville, but we've yet to see them carry around ANY hardware. No conference championships, no sectionals. I think the only pretenders this year are the Wolfs. They may finally get their WRC championship that has eluded them in what you call the "weaskest WRC football season in history." And if the talent discrepancy is so great, why are the Wolfs a last minute drive away from having the same record as the Falcons? NV might just be peaking at the right time. You act like those guys coaching on the Falcon sideline have never won big games before.

By the way, I would hate to tell my grandkids that I won a conference championship by default because all the other teams were mediocre.

I could NOT agree with you any more!!! I'll take the NV coaching staff over the Wolves coaching staff everyday of the week.

I have a serious question. Should we change the mercy rule to 30 points instead of 35? Maybe 28 points? What is an acceptable number to make the losing team feel better about the running clock?

The JV was probably throwing the ball all over the varsity lol. Let’s be honest here. Crabtree could have put 100 on any team he wanted to a few years back. Don’t think he’s starting that trend this year.

Don't shoot the messenger here... I'm just saying what I was told.. I know NV has never kicked it deep and I have been a fan of it. I remember the days when NV would score 50 on teams in a quarter and the JV would be playing the second quarter. Never would accuse Crabtree and co of running the score up on anyone.

  18. 17 hours ago, Marshall Mathers said:

Aren’t the Falcons known for never kicking it deep? Makes sense to not kick it deep, don’t give the other team a chance to run it back, and get a chance of getting the ball every time. Win win. I saw the panthers kicked it deep the first possession and it got returned. I can’t speak about the passing game as I wasn’t there, and the Falcons haven’t put stats on max preps as of yet. I’m sure there’s a reason for everything

I was not at this game but heard that the Falcons were throwing the ball all over the place late in the game up 30 plus points and then were kicking onsiders after that.. Not sure how true that is but that doesn't sit well with people when you're up 30 plus...

  19. Seeger @ FC - I was at the Seeger Covington game last week and Seeger was up 28 - 8 at the end of the first quarter. The running back from Seeger #41 looked like the real deal against that horrible Covington defense. The winner of this game would take second place in the WRC... as of now... I'm taking the Patriots and I don't think it will even be close. Seeger 48 FC 13

Cloverdale @ RP - All I know is that Cloverdale is 0-4 and RP is 1-3 with the only win against a bad Attica team. RP wins 36 - 12

NV @ Attica - NV will be .500 after this week.. If the Ramblers don't get covid again.. NV 45 Attica 6

Covington @ South Newton - Yes, South Newton is 3-2 but they have played some bad teams.. Covington takes their anger from last weeks loss out on the rebels and they may pass for 500 plus yards this week. Karrfalt is still the best player in the conference and he leads the Trojans past the Rebels 63 - 20

    Game of the Week

PH @ SV - Does Johnson play this week? I've heard that he is not playing this week.. If he doesn't play could be another long night for the Wolves. Who plays qb if he can't play? Do they maybe try and run the ball if he's out? I'd say probably not.... SV 54 PH 50...... unless Johnson plays then I'll take the Wolves 63 - 54

  20. Covington @ Seeger - Passing attack will be too much for the Patriots to handle. Rumor has it that Karrfalt is leading the nation in passing yards. The Trojan offense is a tough one to stop.. Covington 42 Seeger 21

RP @ NV - Look for both teams to bounce back after tough games last week. NV has shown us that they can score a lot of points but they have not shown us that they can stop any team from scoring.  NV 40 RP 24

Attica @ FC - Tough times up in Attica right now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. FC continues to only beat bad teams.. FC wins this one 32 - 12

PH @ GC - If the Wolfs can't get things rolling here soon I'm not to confident in their odds to win a sectional. Bad news for PH is that it looks like GC is much more of a running team than a passing team. The Wolfs could be in for another long game Friday night. PH 30 GC 21.

SV @ Sullivan - Don't know much about Sullivan but they are always a solid team. With them keeping it decently close against Linton I'll take Sullivan to win this one. 40 - 22

  21. First time ever starting the thread so let's see how it goes... Hope no one else has started one already..

FC @ Covington - I think the Karrfalt kid might be the best player in the conference this year. He's throwing for a little over 400 yards a game this year and I see the same thing happening this Friday against FC. FC defense is only giving up 18 points a game but that may be because of the lack of competition they have faced. I think Covington 54 FC 30.

Linton @ NV - Linton is much improved from last year and NV has been down the past two years. Linton wins this one by 3 or 4 scores.

Seeger @ RP - I like RP in this one. Not sure why but I think they are hunger and will come out ready to play after having two weeks off. Excited to see their running back 24 get to play against some better competition. RP 28 Seeger 14

    Non conference games

Marshall ILL @ SV - I don't know much about the Illinois schools but saw that Marshall is 0-2 and being that SV lost last week I look for them to bounce back this week and win this one. The D 1 qb will throw all over the yard and SV wins 54 - 12.

PH @ Tuscola ILL -  After a terrible performance last week against Adams Central PH will look to also bounce back and win this week. PH will throw it all over Tuscola and score a lot of points. On the other hand the defense of PH might give up some points so PH 63 Tuscola 26

  22. A lot of good games this Fridays

Covington @ NV - I've heard the Falcons have made some improvements from last year but I'm not sure if it'll be enough to stop the passing attack from the Trojans. Only questions is how many yards does the Covington qb throw for? My guess at least 350. Covington wins a close one 35-30

Frontier @ FC - Frontier hasn't been very good as of lately. I agree that this might be a pillow fight but FC has made some improvements.. FC wins this one 26 - 14

Seeger @ Southmont - Was not very impressed with Seeger in week 1 against PH.  Southmont 30 Seeger 20

SV @ RP - I guess RP's running back 24 did not play last week against FC... Could be why FC won that one.. He looked like the best player on the field against Attica in week 1. Excited to see how he will do against a better team such as SV.     SV 56 RP 24

Game of the week PH vs AC - I do not know much of anything about Adams Central but that they like to run the ball. Considering that PH has struggled in the past to stop the run I don't see this game being any different. Both teams put up a lot of points in this one. I'm excited to see how the PH qb and WR will do. They have all the weapons necessary to win this game..   PH 45 AC 40
