I live in Southeastern Indiana, I don't have a football team to follow. My local school doesn't have football.  In the area, I like seeing Switzerland County and North Decatur do well.  Switz just started football a few years ago, but are showing signs of growth. I like to see what Lawrenceburg is doing. Don't really care for Batesville and Greensburg in most sports.

I've enjoyed following Lawrenceburg from up North...went to a game down there a few years ago, and like the setting of their stadium/town.

Also STC's antics/riddles are always enjoyable to try and follow

The Millenials need to step up and take the baton from the aging veterans and provide some fresh new content to rejuvenate this site and bring it back to relevance.  Is there another young DT out there ready to stir things up?  Is there another Muda ready to challenge the status quo?  Is there a PP zealot ready to fill the void left by RebelDad, TW, Stryker and The Horde?

Many of, if not the most active posters in the NLC/NECC threads (and I'm sure many more) are guys around my age (under 40).

Us under 40 guys also seem to re-affirm our appreciation of the GID by voluntarily donating to the cause with our wallets and keyboards year in and year out.

I'm willing to bet that our support would significantly drop off if this place were to become less active due to a paywall. (seems to only be a viable in you/Muda's fantasy world)

I spend most of my free time on Reddit on the Colts sub (among others), and if there wasn't already a free place to openly discuss Indiana High School Football, Reddit would serve that purpose as one of our other posters mentioned.

They need an elite receiver and pass rusher...right now neither is on the roster.  Some may feel TY is that guy...he isn’t.  He is a great compliment...but he cannot carry a team.

I do not feel that the Colts will resign as many of the rfa/urfa’s as people think.  I agree that some will be signed.  IMO they are to close to say they are just going to wait on draft talent to develop around Luck.  He needs an elite WR now.  My 2 cents.

agreed they need another WR to take the pressure off of Hilton, is Cain gonna be that guy next year?  dunno, he's recovering off of an ACL tear, but free agent WR's aren't all that attractive either...maybe Golden Tate?

Did anyone else notice that Gehrig Dieter (the former standout player for the controversial SB Washington team a few years back) made the field on Sunday playing for the Chiefs and had an 11 yard catch?  SF did.  Congrats to Mr. Dieter for lasting through the college years and making it to the Pros.....

I saw that, when they called his name for making a catch I mentioned to the family that he was a Washington kid...glad to see him making it in the pros!

  5. Gonna use most of their money to re-sign their own/extend contracts.

Probably a few mid tier signings like Autry, Ebron, Inman, etc...but don't see him going crazy spending when he has said over and over you build championship teams through the draft.

Taxpayers dollars shouldn't be used to fund primarily extracurricular facilities.  This is another taxpayer funded boondoggle.

"MIDDLEBURY — The days of sharing athletic facilities will soon be over at Northridge High School. Following its second public meeting Tuesday, the Middlebury Community Schools Board of Education voted to move forward with the $15 million plan to build new outdoor facilities, which will include a new football and track stadium and a baseball and softball complex.

The vote for both the preliminary determination and project resolution passed unanimously 5-0.

“We’re very excited,” Superintendent Jane Allen said. “It’s a great opportunity for our students to use the facilities they deserve.”

Construction on the lot north of NHS is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2019 and will be complete in the fall of 2020.

Allen said the facilities will benefit more than 700 students, who will use the complex for physical education classes, athletics and marching band activities. Each of the new proposed facilities would have artificial turf, which board president Joanna King said is long overdue when comparing to other schools in the area.

“We’re one of the last school corporations to go in the direction of turf on our fields. We waited because we wanted to make sure we (could) do it financially,” she said at last Friday’s meeting.

Keeping below the 2014 school tax rate was important for the school board when considering the plan for the new facilities. That rate is $1.33 per $100 of assessed valuation.

“The thing I’m encouraged about is we’re not bumping up the tax rate,” King said. “That is very important to me. It shows we are being very fiscally conservative with the dollars that we are given … this board understands that.”

Now that the vote has passed, there will be a 30-day waiting period to give the community a chance to oppose the decision. If 500 signatures are gathered before Feb. 8, the board will reconvene, but as of Tuesday’s meeting there hasn’t been any voiced opposition, Allen said.

“So far, all we’ve heard from the community is ‘It’s about time.’”

    - Northridge will be getting a new turf football stadium (was well as turf baseball and softball fields) that should be ready for the 2020 school year. (https://www.goshennews.com/news/local_news/million-middlebury-athletics-proposal-passes/article_011d0da1-44c4-5494-9ead-a1a36fd9ccc6.html)

Finally getting some action to go along with years of hope and speculation on our field upgrades/additions.  Sounds like phase 2 down the road will be adding a game gym to the actual High School as well...but for now I have attached a few images of the proposed $15 million dollar project.  Also if everything goes as planned (passed both public hearings already), should be ready to go for the first year of the merger at our neighboring Elkhart school district, maybe a way to attract a few of those Bristol kids over to Northridge.  Biggest improvements on this proposal vs our current situation other than the obvious Field Turf vs mud pit/natural grass will be a real Press Box and the home bleachers/bench will no longer be looking directly into the sun on a late summer/early fall evening.
