  1. I just went back and watched that (I was flipping back and forth at that point between games and missed it live)…..that’s a ridiculous no call. I don’t understand why these crews cannot come together and have a conversation to get the call right. The officiating has been generally subpar throughout this tournament. It’s the blatant disregard to throw a flag for something obvious right in front of their faces that gets me riled up…..WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING!?!?
  2. Pioneer never in danger…..Very Impressive
  3. LaVille last week was the closest thing offensively…..they dropped back to pass almost 30 times. Pioneer played a soft 4 deep zone early on not wanting to give up any big plays, and switched to man later in the game. I think Pioneer’s speed will serve them well in the secondary and the D-line. They’ll be able to bring some pressure. One thing that hurt Pioneer last week was LaVille’s no huddle which they ran from the first drive through the majority of the game. It really gave the Panthers problems at times. Not sure if SA has that in their bag, but it would be a good strategy if they can do it from time to time. I also think the Panthers will look to limit SA possessions by controlling the clock with their methodical running game. It definitely hurts them not having their QB healthy…..he’s a big time weapon that isn’t available unfortunately.
  4. They each have played Knox, Judson, and Triton so I would image that keeps their SoS somewhat close. Looking at their 6 non-common Regular Season opponents, each team’s Top 3 Sagarin Rated opponents are: Pioneer - North Miami (114), Lewis Cass (141), and Caston (215) LaVille - Tippy Valley (80), Bremen (164), and Jimtown (172) Looks like LaVille has played bigger more physical teams than Pioneer. That certainly doesn’t mean that if Pioneer had the same schedule they would not have done as well or even better, but LaVille has been more battle tested to date I think. Should be an interesting one….. I’m looking forward to watching it!
  5. Pioneer has weapons……FAST weapons, but they’re going to have a difficult time if their main weapon Rans cannot contribute. He’s clearly dealing with an injury. He could barely move last Friday but they didn’t need him to.
  6. Looks like LaVille throws it quite a bit. That could be a matchup problem for anyone they face going forward in the North as most teams do not see offenses like that in their regular season play.
  7. Too many people sleeping on LaVille….they have not been paying attention to what that team has been doing for the last month. They’re battle tested after the grind they faced in the physical INSC week in and week out. That’s a really good team. Judson did a great job getting back into that game, but going down 24-0 was too much to overcome.
  8. The biggest surprise of the week could be Knox losing and Myles falling 10-20 yards short of the record. I don’t see it happening though. He’ll get the ball 40 times and break out a few very long runs. This season it seems you cannot stop him for an entire game.
  9. You’re not alone cornfed….I’m reading your spot on analysis 💪🏻
  10. Will Judson remain 1A? With 4 straight SS runs and a State Finals appearance, how does the success factor impact them? Still not sure how that works….are there dedicated cycles or can teams move up/down each year??
