Wabash River Conference Week 8
BillyBettis replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Got a few texts already this morning from my friends down in the river bottoms. I didn’t know my presence on here was so well known. I’m going to try and get a coaching gig again next year so you Panthers better be nice incase Kevin gives me his quarterly bonus of $50k to teach Garmin the old Sheldon/Moore spread trickery. In all seriousness, I respect Bradley for sticking it out. They’ve been bad as long as I can remember. Their time has finally come. They need to put a Hazzard statue up instead of that little covered bridge. His ability to play when not surrounded by much the last few years is what I believe has the ball rolling for their youth and JH teams, special player. I think it would be a good idea for him to take the weekend off and get rested up for the sectional. Bradley agrees after talking to him last night, so that will level the playing field Saturday. Best of luck to all teams. Seeger wins their first WRC title since 2006 and the Moore era? -

I’m scared for players safety. I don’t want any of them getting trampled. -

RP moms think I was sincere about planning to sabotage the Riverton Parke jalopy wagon and now they are storming the field after the game! This is going to be a tough weekend for Wolves fans. The only bright side is I don’t have to watch @KAllen ‘s bald head streaking around the town square since he’s getting bottle service in Vegas surrounded by lingerie models. #rockstar -

You’re mean. 🥺 Coach Moore never let us run it up against anyone, we screamed at each other about it, trust me, I tried. -

Lots of new users this year, this is great for WRC football. -

Never heard me complain about losing, and I’ve done a lot of that. Would I rather go down a slide of razor blades into a pool of rubbing alcohol than lose in anything to Riverton, yes, but I won’t complain. They have the conferences best player since Johnson aborted ship and Kevin Allen has enough money to start getting them the best equipment on and off the field. Down year for the Wolves! I will say if Price tries pulling his Panther football wagon around the town square being followed by the Mecca fire trucks in a parade, I will bulldoze that monstrosity into a ditch on their way back down south! 😈 In all seriousness, I just pray they don’t storm the field and have parents crying when they finally beat us like Turkey Run did when they beat the Rox the final year before consolidation. (I considered jumping off their water tower after watching that pathetic display of emotion.) -

I disagree but that’s a conversation for another time. Only 2 of the transfers played the whole season. -

God no. Woulda loved to see him play with Wilkey though. His cousin Anthony Wood never got the respect he deserved playing under the Johnsons and AP. Would have been best player on any other team in conference last 3 years. (Besides Shew.) -

Coach King has been spread since 2007. Im not sure who the best team would be in the last 15 years, but I’d personally have to give not to Jacob Earl’s falcons, state champs and 1A player of the year I believe! Best player to play in the WRC since Smith. -

The youth programs seem to be very good actually. Very thankful JR Martin (RIP) and Marty Brown established the WRC league all those years ago. Our league consist of PH, Attica, NV, SV, Covington, and Seeger. Covington actually did not have the numbers this year and did not participate but glad to have Attica back even with their low numbers. We did play in Terre Haute for many years and competed well, then moved to the WRC league and it was widely mocked about on here how we got our @$$ kicked the first couple seasons. Competing well now, great numbers, enough numbers I get a dozen calls a week about playing time. Thankfully able to play some “A” and “B” games. Been a great experience. I’d take any WRC team to TH and play with confidence. Attica had 13 kids but their QB and RB can play! -

NV over Attica 42-0. Falcons take out their frustrations on the Ramblers. PH over CT 24-21. Wolves did some things differently last week offensively after some injuries, obviously were shutout by a good Seeger team but should be back at full strength and will get the ball moving. FC over Seeger 28-21. Huge game for coach King after the shady way the Patriots fired him, he will bring all the tricks out this week and have his kids fired up. GOTW SV wins by hook and ladder over RP with 8 seconds remaining. 35-34. Will Garman come out in spread or play smash mouth football? Can they stop the stud defensive lineman for SV? I just feel SV has too much speed across the board to let Hazzard run for 250+ Someone else will have to step up. This games turned into a pretty good rivalry. KA, I’d love to make you sit in the middle of Rox country but I will be in Virginia for a wedding unfortunately. 1-Most competitive week of the year, a user stated last week this is the worst the WRC has been in a very long time. Anyone agree? 2- If Lutheran makes a run will they be bumped up to 2A? Could SouthPut give them any trouble? -
Wabash River Conference Week 5
BillyBettis replied to Donnie Baker's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Yes I could learn a thing or two. My time working on the offensive side of the ball for the Wolves was a struggle, hints why coach rector wouldn’t reinstate me as a coach. Tried getting a job under Brad but KA had to come back home and take it (prob because he’s rich). His JH teams are scoring 70+, maybe he will buy me a tenderloin and really teach me how to get an offense rolling. I have family in Mecca, Brad wouldn’t hire me, and the Panthers are a powerhouse, please stop picking on me, I’ve gone through enough this year. -

Scratch that, Sanders in lining up at WR. All they have to do is snap it to Hazzard. -

Wasted my night by coming to take notes on double tight double wing but KA pulled a quick one on me and it looks like Riverton has completely gone away from having the best running game in the WRC to throwing it around like the vintage Wolves. Maybe with Sanders as the new QB they are wanting to become a spread team because he has a better arm. I would have saved this trickery for SV! -

Hopefully we can get that team from Michigan to come down and play us week one instead of Linton. Then I can put my Rox jacket up earlier than week 4! -

Hey Dick! I’ve been on a strict diet! I’m trying to get shredded like RP team owner Kevin Allen. This competition is for coaches only. I will put up Marshall/Secuskie vs anyone though. Once seen Secuskie eat 19 deli sandwiches at his bachelor party. I don’t appreciate your new account and first post from it making fun of my bad genetics. Shame on you. -

SV over CT 49-18 The visors are rolling. FC over Attica 60-6 King let’s his QB run wild. G.O.W.——NV over RP 35-34 OT Crabtree will be putting lots of pressure on the freshman QB, heard he may be better than previous starter, so could benefit the Panthers in post season. PH over Seeger 24-21 Wolves score 3 touchdowns on defense and a kickoff return to win in the 4th! -

3-4 on picks. - I listened to waxi (yikes!) which covered the nv/sv game. Sounded like after first quarter things were pretty even, few busted plays for the falcons that gave SV some early scores. #34 for SV can fly, and they have a d-lineman that gave the falcons fits. I think if they play 10 times it’s 5-5 on wins still. -Congrats Coach Rector on his first win for PH. Hopefully the confidence can carry and they continue to get better each week. Wolves beat Attica this week in all grades 3-12, and we stole Bruce Patton. -Seen on Facebook Coach King’s house was TP’ed, first win as a Mustang! Congrats Coach! -How did Seeger slow down Hazzard? Did he go down? -

Only because Barrett’s hair looks better coming out of his visor than mine does and because Bradley won’t let me come have dinner at the Tavern.
