  1. He won't be heading to any school anytime soon after the 5-year contract extension that he just signed making him the highest paid coach in the WRC. And he didn't apply for the AD job. I saw the interview list and he wasn't on it. He doesn't want that headache of being at the school every single night all year round.
  2. Boy, Donnie…you’ve mentioned that a few times now. I must have hit a nerve. It wasn’t directed solely at you.
  3. In order prepare for the season, we had preseason scrimmages against 4A Southport, 4A Terre Haute North (twice), 4A Terre Haute South, and 3A Northview (twice). In regular season, we played 3A West Vigo. We don't solely play smaller schools. Against differing opinions on here, we parents don't get to choose who is on the schedule. We play the team that is on the schedule. We were beat last week by a good Cascade team. There is no shame in that.
  4. Well Donnie, I applaud you for going to the parade. No judgement here.
  5. Proud of our sons and their accomplishments does not mean we "think we're badass." We are, however, very proud...Proud of Coach Barrett and his staff and the program they have built. Proud of the character development/community service aspect that is built into the program. Proud of our "12th man" for packing the stands at both home and away games. Proud that they have turned around a program that was struggling. Proud of the 2 youth football super bowl wins this season and proud of the Banks of the Wabash tournament win for our middle school program. Proud of Coach Barrett's 100th career win as a head coach. And yes, we are proud of winning the WRC conference championship. It's a shame that some of you take that pride as arrogance. I wish you all could see what I (we) see. Week after week, we read on here that we are "1A dominant" like it is a negative thing. We read that we should be winning those games and because we were 2A...and that we should be in a different conference. I never once read the same thing about Seeger, which is also 2A. And I don't ever remember reading that we should be in a different conference several years ago when we were getting beat by your 1A teams...then it was OK that we were in the conference when your teams were beating us handily and running up the score on the big, evil 2A Wildcats. This season is over and next season started Saturday morning, Wildcats. Visor up, baby!
  6. Hey y’all! A new t-shirt just came out in the SV team online store. If anyone wants one, let me know and I can probably help arrange it!
  7. Why so bitter about SV, Donnie? Seems like you have a real chip on your shoulder. Were you not hugged as a child?
  8. No spaghetti this week Chumps. It is Grandma Garzolini's week to make the pregame meal and everyone knows that her spaghetti sauce is not that great. But her Alfredo sauce! That Alfredo is so good it would make Tony Soprano cry! Mama mia!
  9. Like I said, we play the next game on the schedule. Southmont is tough. There are a lot of tough teams in our sectional…and we are one of them. That’s why you play the game, right? If we believed everything we read, we would put down an “L” on our bracket and go home to cook some Fettuccine Alfredo instead of playing the game. Nah, that doesn’t sound fun. I believe we are going out to make some noise every night we are blessed to be able to play! By the way, you may want to stop by this Friday and lurk in our student section. You might just get lucky enough to score a sweet visor!
  10. What’s your proposal, Donnie? Roll up in a ball and cry? You play the game that is next on the schedule, man… one game at a time! Would Linton be tough if we get the opportunity to play them? Absolutely! Will I be on the track in my short skirt cheering on the team? Absolutely! You know that phrase “Any Given Sunday”? Let’s change that to Friday…Any team has the chance to beat another team…Any Given Friday. If we get to Linton, I’ll take my chances with these boys! Go Cats!
  11. Easy there, buddy! Don’t you worry your sweet little Humps over old Willy! A little vino and a little antipasto will keep us warm in the stands. Manjiare!
  12. SV wins by 33…you were pretty close Chumps. But the haters will say will say that we should win against 1A Fountain Central. Oh well! We’re still proud of our boys and will continue to party in Clinton tonight! Chumps, by the way, black and gold looks good on you!
  13. North Vermillion +35 Covington +21 Fountain Central +10 South Vermillion starts with a running clock in the third quarter. Garzolini will have 6 passing TDs. We’ll be eating spaghetti in the stands and Coach B may even get crazy and wear his visor backwards in the second half just to spice things up. Gimme them Cats, baby!
