  1. If your argument is "the school's haven't given us the opportunity" you lose the debate before it starts. CYO is just an organization....like any community. It's involved parents that make the difference and it takes years. You're crying "poor me" because whatever community you're from hasn't done the same. CYO doesn't provide anything except scheduling and organization. It's not a government problem at all. Yoi don't need government to have an involved community or youth sports program. Like I said...just a convenient excuse. What Chatard has was built over 50 years. It doesn't happen overnight and ultimately, you can be jealous and blame the government if you want to, but that's just a smoke screen. Chatard has done it right for a long time.
  2. Question. What prevents any school system from having a solid, consistent youth program, from having intense and accountable off season weight and conditioning programs, from hiring great coaches, and establishing a tradition? That's what has built Chatard. Yes...it's now 40+ years old, but there is no advantage any community can't establish over time. Granted, it's built in to the CYO program, but there is also CYO basketball, and Catholics don't dominate that sport at all. Same w volleyball. Chatard oppresses nobody. They just have the best program in the state, but started (and lasted 30 years) it with facilities worse than the Junction Boys. Only recently have they moved into the 21st century.
  3. Moving up next year following regional win last week. COVID reset put them in 3A following a season in 4A 2021. They should definitely BE in 4A or even 5A, but it's not Chatard's fault they aren't. The IHSAA dictates where teams play. (For the record, Chatard does not recruit, does not pay tuition for athletes, and does nothing but use CYO as a youth program and uses fantastic coaches and off season work to be what they are)
  4. Were up 40-0 on Tippy Valley (similar enough) and will adjust to whatever Knox does. Coaching staff is terrific, lots of seniors, lots of speed, lots of depth. Knox's style won't be what gives them a shot if they have one. They'll have to bully a better team for 4 quarters and do it without making mistakes or giving up points on defense. Knox will have to score 3-4 touchdowns to have a shot and Chatard's "1's" on defense have given up 2 touchdowns since Labor Day.
  5. Danville was really good those years. No question. They were kinda' the first of those western suburbs to get good...now Avon and Brownsburg have both become even better than Danville.
  6. History says you're wrong. Chatard has heard all of this before. Knox has played nobody. Happens every year with these rural teams and Sagarin - as it relates to Chatard and generally speaking - hasn't been wrong. You can be condescending and hard headed all you want, but this is par for the course. Heritage Hills in 2019 couldn't have talked more trash or been more naive. Just like you. Final? 34-3 Chatard. Lawrenceburg a year ago. Final? 34-14 Chatard and the defense this year is far better. Tippy Valley talked. 40-7. Delta was going to "run through Chatard's faces." 35-0 before Delta scored. This movie is in syndicate....it's not new. It's a rerun. Chatard hasn't played Lakeview or Maconaquah. You're right. But if you think Knox beating up on those teams (again, zero games against top 64 rated schools) gives them a shot, I'd love a drink of your Kool Aid. Chatard would name the score against every team Knox has played. You can deny it all you want or discount anything you want. Doesn't change anything. Knox may keep it close for a while just because of the way they play, but they're. Ot bullying Chatard for 4 quarters. Just not happening.
  7. Knox is 0-0 against Sagarin top 64. Chatard is 7-0. Knox may think they'll dictate things and that "Chatard hasn't seen anyone like us" yet. But they have. Unless Knox thinks they're better than Cathedral, Cincinnati Elder, etc. Knox is used to playing with a lead against weaker teams. Little different this week. Game won't be close. Knox has literally played nobody. They are 0-0 against Sagarin top 64. Chatard is #13 and 7-0 against that list.
  8. That and Guerin came out with a game plan to stop the run, brought a safety down, never adjusted, and #11 threw for 350 with relative ease.
  9. I'd ask what you think the difference was a year ago? 31-30 regular season, 49-13 in the sectional and it wasn't that close. Chatard's leading tackler was out the first time, and their QB got hurt in the first quarter. Guerin's banged up and struggled with Peru. Chatard would name the score against Peru the same way they did against TV. I think this one gets ugly early and Chatard wins 35-7.
  10. Chatard played that one without its overall best player. All due respect to #10, but #65 plays both ways and is a dominant DL which allowed Guerin to run it a little. Will be different this time. Chatard also lost its QB in the first quarter of the first matchup, and played the rest of the game with a sophomore who had never played a snap. With Guerin's receiver situation, I don't know how Guerin scores a point. Guerin's unfortunately not as healthy as they were the first time, and Chatard's pretty close to full strength.
