I agree, it's a four quarter game. No matter how you slice it, Center Grove took Carroll to the woodshed. Again, I wouldn't want to play Center Grove after they came off of a loss. You know you're going to get 100% without fail. I'm sure the Trojans were also hearing how good Carroll was and how the Chargers were going to come down to Indy and beat them by double digits. Lots of motivation for Center Grove that game. Maybe Carroll was a little over confident? I can't imagine in a game like that, but who knows. At the end of the day, I still like Carroll as a contender. I'm not going to let one game change my mind on that. Crown Point and Penn are both looking pretty good as well. The gap between those three and Carmel/Westfield is very slim in my opinion. It'll be fun to see how it all plays out. Good luck to your Kingsmen moving forward, I always like to see them do well.

Well, they had the three that went for defensive touchdowns. I feel like there may have been one other one. I'm not sure how many penalties Snider had, but there were some iffy calls that affected both teams. East Noble had a pass interference that was clearly wrong in favor of Snider. They also punted the football three seconds after the play clock expired that the refs missed. The real big one for Snider was the 30 yard touchdown taken away due to a block in the back that had no bearing on the play, being that the infraction occurred several yards behind the runner. That would have closed the gap to 19-14. Instead, they throw an interception in the endzone and come away with nothing. That was the play of the game.

Memorial over Reitz? Would that be a pick-em if played on Friday? Only two weeks away.

Concordia at Carroll - This is the kind of game the Cadets are trying to avoid. Over by halftime Luers at Snider - Gave away last week's game. These Knights won't be so fortunate. Panthers by 14 Northrop at North Side - The Legends have new life under Smith's direction. North by 7 South Side at Homestead - Archers getting close, but not quite there. Spartans by 28 Wayne at Dwenger - Saints continue marching. Running clock late 3rd, early 4th.

It's still hard to ignore what Carroll did to Hamilton Southeastern. But traveling down to a Center Grove team coming off a close loss is a different monster. Carroll held their own, only down 14-11 at the half. Then the wheels fell off. Maybe the 3 hour road trip? Not sure, never been in that situation. It didn't seem to affect Center Grove last year when they came up here. Maybe an excuse, maybe not. A coach who's been through it would have to chime in.

Northrop has a lot to prove themselves. A one point loss to Warsaw tells me nothing about their program. I still haven't decided if Warsaw is good or not.

Carroll will more than likely crush everyone outside of Dwenger. The Saints will make it interesting.

Defense wins championships, so Dwenger for sure. Snider may have dropped 50 on East Noble if it weren't for some self inflicted miscues. I need to see more from East Noble to place them as a legitimate threat in 4A.

I like your Homestead positioning. North Side gets a bad rap, but I like their upside. If these kids amp it up for Jaylon Smith and play for Ben Johnson's honor, they could be a tough out...........even in the sectional they are in. Jaylon Smith has that likability, similar to Marcus Freeman. Could be interesting.

I enjoy the content Blitz provides, but I agree, Homestead not in the Top Ten is beyond bizarre. Honestly, I think they would be East Noble. Carroll and Dwenger are a different animal though. Normally they're in a sectional with a couple of HCC teams. Before that, they were in the same sectional as Snider when the Panthers were brutalizing the entire northern part of the state. Homestead's always been good, just not good enough.

Which I was surprised several posters had Noblesville in a blowout. No love for Homestead up here in NE Indiana. Even the media up here have little faith.

Overall, a very nice campus with great sports facilities. Football stadium is aging though, but still a good venue. Homestead does sports as well as anyone in the state. Good balance across the board.

Homestead's stadium is crazy? Normal 6A stadium in my opinion. Elaborate on that one if you would.

Let's not forget that it was just 14-11 at halftime. There's not a team in Indiana that would want to face Center Grove at home coming off of a loss, especially when you have to drive 3 hours to get there. Carroll is good, but my "pump the brakes" comment last week was warranted.

1. Dwenger - Wins matter, and Dwenger got a big one last night. They destroyed St. Francis DeSales in the Glass Bowl in Toledo. The Saints keep marching on. 2. Carroll - Carroll took the three hour trip and went toe to toe with the Trojans in a game that was closer than the score indicated. At the end of the day, they still lost by 25 points. And........they're 0-1 vs Dwenger dating back to last season. So here they sit.............for now. 3. East Noble - They beat Snider on their opening night at Russ Isaacs Stadium. Sure, they were the recipients of several Snider miscues, but good teams are good at taking what's given to them. And the Knights are a good team. 4. Homestead - Easy choice here. Good looking win against Noblesville last night. Don't sleep on them Spartans. That was the easy part. This is where it gets messy. Wins matter at this point. 5. Eastside - Massive Jump in the rankings with a quality win over Adams Central. 6. Huntington North - Wins matter, and the Vikings wrapped up another one over Garrett. 7. Adams Central - Not going to pull the plug on them just yet. They lost to a really good team last night. 8. Columbia City - Lost by one point to a very good Northridge team last night. Not dropping this team from the Top 10. 9. Dekalb - 2-0 teams in NE Indiana are scarce, but the Barons are one of them. And both quality wins. 10. Bluffton - Outscored first two opponents 42-6. 10. Snider - After a sloppy first half, their domination of East Noble in the second half was eye opening last night. 11. North Side - Need to see more. Blowout win over New Haven isn't enough. 12. Northrop - Only lost by one to Warsaw. But really, how good is Warsaw? 13. Bishop Luers - Lost to two quality opponents. They're still dangerous. 14. Angola - Need to see more. Decent looking team so far. 15. Leo - Lots of football left. Chatard is a nightmare for anyone. First team out: South Side
