Agree. Everyone else falls in line from here. Not because what Marion County was correct. But because everyone else will look bad if there does happen to be a Covid outbreak within their football programs.
I fully expect a case or 2 to happen my son's team this fall. That kid or mine will quarantine for 2 weeks and be absolutely fine after that. I would rather my kid go to school, socialize, participate in extracurricular activities then sit home learning to be scared of the world. His team has been but cautious through whole process. You can't keep hiding kids away from the world.

Let's see if people start praising the IHSA for moving football to the middle of flu season.
Mind boggling and irrational.
Well said!!!!!

Marion County vs. the IHSAA.
Sounds like we might get to see the biggest whizzing contest since open trough stadium urinals went away.
I'll put my money on IHSAA.

If we as a nation, could have taken this more serious. We wouldnt be in this spot. We as adults in this nation failed our kids.
More schools to follow.. Just a hunch.
Just read it is nowhere near a final deal. They are having a conference about what decision to make tonight.

Keep in mind, current IHSAA bylaws require a minimum of 4 regular season games to be eligible to participate in the tournament.
Well sucks to be them. Watch everyone else play then.

Ridiculous political move by marion county. To take this away from all those kids is nothing short of selfish bs. I hope all those schools see a ton of transfers leaving!!!! Everyone says think of the kids safety. THE KIDS WILL BE FINE!!!!!!! You want to be political then do it in a voting booth! Feel absolutely horrible for all those kids in all fall sports that live in that county.

Here is thing that irritates me the most. If you do not feel safe then don't go to your job!!!!! Problem solved!!!!! There are other job opportunities in this country. If I was head coach and didn't feel comfortable I'd talk to AD about situation and have interim coach for year. I wouldn't make fun or down someone who didn't feel comfortable. Everyone has choice.

I can’t wait for the first shot in that battle on the GID.
Well it is a forum lol. I would expect people to agree and people to disagree. Everyone has a opinion.

I'm telling ya...the show will go on even with a chunk of schools not participating. Which is better than a condensed spring schedule any day of the week. Because one thing is certain, having to manage "cases" and preventative measures won't be gone in the spring either. Vaccine or not.
Thank you. This is something that will be not going away next year either. People will choose not to get vaccinated. If 75% of schools play I'm fine with that. I really do think the schools that choose not to play will have major parent issues and transfers.

I would start with immediate family of players (including grandparents if the player so choses) only plus media. Then move to a 50% capacity model whereby the number of players is divided into 50% capacity and tickets are given out by the players depending on the local COVID-19 situation as determined by the school corporation.
I agree with this completely. I can't see schools just allowing everyone.

Who do you listen to then? Idiot!
Not a single word he wrote was wrong was it? Look at death rates per million in New York then compare them to other states. To say New York did such a good job is a joke. Wasn't the expert on tv at baseball game other night not wearing a mask? Then calling someone a idiot because they don't share your view is a real mature move. There is going to be football whether you like it or not.

LaVille has a lot of 3-4 year players and experience on this team will benefit them throughout the year. Should be favorite in the conference and Andrew Dill should be a breakout player for them. He should be the featured back and get a huge number of carries. Czarnecki has really developed into a great safety, plus is a weapon with his leg. Doyle will be a seasoned QB and OLB and with Bettcher playing a bigger role for them, it should be a big year.
No way. Will come down to pioneer or Knox. Laville hasn't played physical enough to hang with them last few years and won't change this year.

It truly doesn't matter what other states do
Only matters what state surround us do in my opinion
Texas California Florida have no connections to Indiana in anyway.
Thank you. Our situation here is completely different than south or west.

Pneumonia is very contagious! And is deadly for older people and younger people! It’s time to open the schools up and let the kids play!

I agree - I wouldn't either. As Lysander says, Marian lost quite a bit to graduation - especially on the defensive side. The Knights return a lot of talent at the skill positions on O, but will have a very green group on the other side of the ball.
That qb whose name I can't remember is pretty damn good though.
No Football in Marion County til October.

I didn't want to say anything but since you brought it up. You shorted my kid two offensive rebounds in game last season. I'm kidding. It is a good thing what you do. Also like reading your mom is doing better. I disagree with you on covid/kids though. Feel like the ones with children should be deciding what's best for them. Not people who don't have kids.
