For a school with a  great winning tradition in football, Luers has the worst facilities of any successful programs in the state.  Talking about playing field, press box, concession stand, restrooms. dressing rooms  etc.  Most schools with multiple state championship have just outstanding facilities, except Luers.  I don't blame them for moving to Dwenger.  Any place is better than  Luers.

You need to visit The Pit at Pioneer to compare!  Two of Coach Nowlin favorite facilities.

Here's the problem with that south-man.

If you start a freshman QB, he wasnt even on the team last year, right? But you had a backup QB on the varsity and junior varsity QB and a freshman team QB.

You have to tell them all, they arent good enough. And if its the JV or the backup, then you have to tell them that even though they may have waited their entire life to play QB for the hometown team,  that they got beat out by a kid who isnt even in high school yet.

You have to tell the entire senior class that their final shot at their football goals will be led by a kid who cant even drive. And if they dont like that, they can learn a new position or they can go run cross country.

    See what I mean?

That is why you pay the coach to make that call.  He knows better than any one his job is to win....just win baby. And if that call is wrong and they don't win he will be held accountable.  In our community we let our coach make that call not the family members or arm chair QB's on the sideline.  The coaches spend more time in the season with these kids that  those fence line coaches.

and he know that if this decision is incorrect and they don't win he will be held accountable.

  5. What a nice night of football at Logansport.  Two schools that had never played one another before, but got together due to their scheduled opponents not being able to play due to Covid protocol. The AD's, Roman Smith and Brian Strong, as well as the coaches, Nate Andrews and Mike Johnson, did what was best for their players and got this game scheduled in just a coupler of hours on Thursday afternoon.  The game was not pretty by any coaches standards with way to many time the ball being on the ground.  But in the end the game was played and the players got to have their "Friday Night Lights.

Thanks to these AD's and their staff as well as the coaches and their staff.

Ditto toward Plymouth. I still despise them to this day. Probably had a lot to due with the fact that I do not think we ever beat them from 7th grade through high school when I played them, and ever since before then, whenever going to a game at Plymouth - 1) we ALWAYS had to fight the Blueberry Festival traffic/parking and 2) that darn PA announcer yelling out "First Down... RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROCKIES!"

As far as admire, being from a bigger school, I think I always admired the smaller school programs that have historically been successful. Same thing comes to mind with Jimtown and NorthWood. I will also add East Noble to that list.

That PA announcer at Plymouth is my kind of guy.
