Warsaw and Penn should be a great game.  If Warsaw plays like they did last Friday...watch out Penn.  I watched the Penn / Mishawaka game and after Mishawaka's first drive, Penn figured out how to stop said "Bart Ball" and controlled the remainder of the game.  I really like Warsaw in this game, but playing at Penn...Warsaw is a great place to watch a game and their fans always show up...but they don't travel as well as some of the other NLC teams.  With that said...I'm going to say Warsaw gets the offense rolling early and wins a close game. Mishawaka's fullback did all the damage.  Kid is a workhorse. Came away really impressed with him.

Penn, on the other hand, had no trouble with Elkhart.

What a game it should be!  Game will be at Penn.

Should be a good one, but unlike Carroll, Penn is very familiar with the flexbone and Coach Bart.

Fairfield's coach has been helped by Bart Curtis from Warsaw. 

We went to the Mishawaka/Warsaw game last night. Mishawaka's defense was pretty stout and played fast. Warsaw didn't look very impressive though.  They got beat up in the trenches pretty bad. Gotta think Mishawaka is gonna work over Northwood pretty good next week.

Hated to see him leave. Hate the new transfer rules even more. But I get why he left...

I think its a combo of both. He does love his conference championships. The athletic department is focused on the new field house their building. So maybe after that.

This has been talked about for a while. Some of the NIC AD's have pushed back not wanting to lose the gate revenue that Penn football fans bring. I think something will eventually happen but not until Coach Yeoman retires.

If Penn can control the time of possession, like they did in the first half of the Mishawaka game, I think they can make the game interesting. 

I agree.  Clean up the mental mistakes and it could be a good game.

They were running the ball at will. That's why the pass play was so perplexing. Also if you know Mishawaka, they use the full play clock to snap the ball regardless of being up or down. It would of been hard to get the ball back with much time even with 2 timeouts.

That's a tough call. So to "push the pile", you would need to push a defender that is in contact with the ball carrier in order to be legal, correct?

I didn't hear a whistle and it happened almost right in front of me. Also I was told this year that you are not allowed to push the ball carrier from behind anymore ie: Bush Push. Mishawaka constantly did it and it was not called. Are they allowed to or not?

Allow kickoffs to be returned out of the end zone and allow players to hurdle.

probably, but throwing the ball in that situation was dumb. Why leave a minute and half on the clock before halftime. They could've ran the clock down to almost zero by running.

HE said they got beat this week by Goshen by 3 touchdowns. Said Goshen had over 40 players and were really well coached.

Maybe the future is bright for coach Wogomon at Goshen.

 

I don't know what's going on at Schmucker, but everyone I talk to say the 8th grade coaches are horrible.
