The IHSAA does number the regionals, but it's not really used as popularly since there are only four in each class. You'll notice the regionals numbered if you go to the IHSAA website. I believe the accepted style the AP (and thus print and broadcast) media use is to use the sectional number for that round, but to just refer to the following rounds as the "regional" and "semistate" without attaching a number.

In basketball, the sectionals are also numbered, but I always only use the host school in naming the sectional ... e.g., "3A at New Castle" instead of "3A sectional 27."

I think using the host school name in later rounds comes from the pre-class era basketball tournament when you knew where all of the sectionals, regionals etc would be played. Every year.

Man hope that kid is okay. Yeah it sucks when kids are hurt or can’t play, Tipton is going to be one hell of a team next year.

Kobe Stephens Mom reported that he broke his fibula.
Sad to see a senior that has been pretty much bullet proof his entire HS career suffer a serious injury with 3 minutes and change left to play.

Not sure of other winter sports yet but the Hoosier Conference mandated $6.00 tickets for football this fall.  I'll ask about other sports.

Asked our AD about ticket prices, football is the only sport the Hoosier Conference has mandated to be $6.00 and Kory was the lone vote against it.

The CIC is increasing game tickets to $6 starting with the upcoming winter sports seasons.  Where does that extra dollar go?  Do other conferences do this too?

I'm waiting on a picture of the horrible damage left to my school's bleachers last year by a visiting school. Since the GID files from last year are gone, I'm going to have to rely on Facebook 'memories' to save the picture. Unless @Maynard111 still has it stored? Those rocks were hard to sit on................

I'll have to search to see if I saved those photos later tonight.

Tipton has enjoyed some early success, but they will get throttled this weekend.  I believe Cass is the real deal this season.

So do we, I saw Cass almost beat Eastbrook in sectional last year and I believe that Cass should have and could have won that game if not for a couple of critical mistakes..

What the hell is an Argyll anyway?

Congratulations on learning the proper spelling instead of the incorrect Argyle you were using.

Here's the cut and paste, with a little more information, from my previous response to your inquiry.

The mascot and symbolism came from a Gent named J. Scott Campbell, a proud Scotsman who resided near the Madison County village of Leisure. (Lay-zure not Lee-zure)
Based on the history of  the Scottish county of Argyll and surrounding area.
