No one would be, for instances like last week cancellation or whatever led to the cancellation in, what did you say, 08? Weren’t you still playing back l 08?

Yes I was the QB at Brownstown. I think we're on the same page. Happy for how well the Panthers played last night. Coach Humphrey is an incredible guy.

I take it you feel the rule is unnecessary now because of the ability to have organized workouts basically year round? It’s a hangover from the “old” days?

That would be a fair amount of it. I just think.. we are coaches, teachers, we have athletic trainers.. parents are involved... we dont need a blanket "10 practices" and you're boom ready to go. Idk I'm not a fan.

I dont think its the most egregious rule ever.. just not one I'm a fan of.

I'm not going to rush a kid bad, neither are athletic trainers. And yes, I do understand that not everyone will operate under the rules, but they don't always now, so we're punishing the ones who do.

Sorry for facts? Won't post those anymore.

The 10 practice rule is for safety purposes. Waiving it is out of the question.

    It should be

Could someone ask the IHSAA why they kept the 10 practice rule in effect this year?  It has really screwed some small schools.

All the practice rules should have been thrown out this year.  If you wanted teams to actually be able to play, that is.

good post.. absolutely should have been thrown out. IHSAA doesn't know our players.. we do.

I can understand not wanting to cancel Seymour.. again not that it would matter because the non conferences do not match up.

A team going 7-1 and one going 6-1 are not the same. It’s unfair to assume that one team would have won their “extra game” if it were played.  BC should request the Corydon game be considered a forfeit on CC end and BC be 1-0 currently.

No thats not fair to Corydon. I wasn't trying to argue that 6-1 vs 7-1 is fair or whatever. I'm telling you thats what the conference would do. It's been done before. 2008

Well how many do you think are going to get it?  The question is how many deaths are we willing to say is enough before people start to take this seriously.  The deaths aren't as concerning as the fact that we don't know the long term effects even if you are asymptomatic.  Plus how long do the antibodies last?  Can you catch it again?  I would much rather see us be overly cautious until we have a vaccine that works than the opposite.  As we learn more about the virus then we can maybe let go of some of the mitigation.  But I do agree we shouldn't live in fear but we need to live in respect.

Cool. Zero to do with football.

There is proof that asymptomatic carriers that go into large groups are the super spreaders that lead to outbreaks.  The CDC by not testing all individuals that have a close contact are going against what epidemiologists have been saying all along.  This is a political move because the federal government dropped the ball on testing and by rushing a reopening of the country when they didn't meet the requirements of re-opening.  We can beat this and have football but we have only played one week and if we pretend that this isn't real we will pay for our arrogance.

    I'm good with 99.4%.. thanks

Kids need to return to normal school. Especially IPS students. Parental guidance is their greatest weakness. Virtual classes will result in 30-40% not even logging in on any given day and running the streets instead.

The human immune system is the key to stopping the spread.  Our leaders have put their faith in sheltering in place and cheap non medical grade masks from China. Ridiculous!

Are schools up in Indy operating virtually or in-person?? I thought I remembered reading somewhere awhile back that all IPS schools were going to go virtual until like October?? Is that the case, and if so, does that include Warren and Ben Davis?? And aren't they playing football games?? Any other schools around the State operating as virtual, but still playing games?

I'm hoping with the new CDC guidelines that we will be brought back to normal here real soon...

Salem is virtual and playing games, and I believe Jeffersonville is, as well.

The Gov needs to take back the executive order that gave so many of these health depts all of this power.

West Washington is GOOD TO GO. Crawford will not play due to WW being virtual this week related to a positive Covid-19 case within the HS. No one on the team or coaching staff was affecting by the contact tracing and everyone is cleared to play. WW is NOT quarantined.

Now we search for an opponent....

Wow.  Hope to hell you find someone coach

Do you know if Pekin doesn't have a JV or couldn't play JV due to Covid quarantines?

    They don't have a JV.

Clarksville JV Lost 28-0 to Scottsburg JV.

First time in a long time Clarksville will attempt to play as many JV games as possible.

Still better to play and lose then not play at all! Pulling for Clarksville to be able to continue having a JV team!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that made this happen. BC has a great facility and staff. The Braves were hard-hitting and tough-nosed. Eventually, our ability to two platoon on a hot evening was the difference, but I was impressed by their fight. Best of luck this season!

added bonus: Got to meet the great IO last night, as well!

Thank you so much for coming down! Your kids hit, as well. And as you said I was thrilled both ADs, etc were able to make this happens. Our kids deserve to play.

  12. To go into a little more detail about our game..

Roncalli scored with about 4 mins to go in the 2nd q to make it 7-0. We started 3 of 4 drives of the first half inside our own 10 and Roncalli started all 4 of their drives on our side of the 50. They had a very talented RB who as soon as we weren't gap sound took advantage.

2nd half..  1st drive we had them 2nd and 10 and had the RB behind the line and he made 3 of our guys miss. They punched in another one earlier 4th q.

The story of the night was Roncallis defense though.  They were good sized but mostly long, strong and flat out understood how to play.

We under threw a TD on the 2nd drive and dropped a TD on our last drive of the half. We were basically stuffed the entire game, we did miss some assignments, but most of our struggles were because of Roncallis talent defensively.

Most importantly our guys didn't back down from a 4A power, we'll watch film and fix the rest.

Mad props for EH picking up this game. EH has not seen the athletes NA brings. The trip home will be a lot shorter than the trip up there.

For the NA fans making the trip.......right before you fall off the edge of the Earth, the school will be right there. Should be dining in Greenfield right off 70.
