I forgot to account for 5A not being capped at 32 teams. I thought BNL would head to 4A with Cathedral moving up.

Not bumping them down created the least amount of change possible to 5A sectionals.

Same here. Seems odd to have a 5 team 5A Sectional while at the same time there are two 7 team 4A Sectionals. I was expecting BNL to drop to 4A with Seymour taking their place in Sectional 16 then Cathedral being slotted into the Sectional 14 opening. Potential Cathedral-New Pal Sectional game.

  2. Nick Zachery was starting quarterback and played safety for Sheridan from 2005 to 2008; state champion the first three years, runner-up to Ritter in 2008.

I pulled the following information from the 2010 IU Football roster:

Four-year (high school) varsity starter played quarterback, safety, returned punts and kicks and served as the team's place-kicker and punter in his career ... 2008 Indiana Mr. Football runner-up and Mr. Football at defensive back.

Why isn't Penn's schedule listed as missing a game? just curious

If I were CE I would look at playing a home and home with a team from Cinci or Louisville. I highly doubt they'd be able to get a neutral site game arranged.

Penn has not turned in its schedule to John Harrell's site (only five games listed so far) but according to Max Preps the Kingsmen are scheduled to play Homewood-Flossmoor out of Flossmoor, IL that weekend.

I will disagree with you on camels fanbase have you ever seen the turn on they have for the football state finals.  I really do believe that springs break hurts attendance I am sure their is a lot of families that would go to the game but are out of town

Carmel's spring break does not start until March 29.

  5. So in 2019-20 there are 32 teams in 6A with Valparaiso as the smallest. 5A has 33 teams including the two Elkhart teams.

Then for 2020-21 there are 32 teams in 6A including the consolidated Elkhart school and 32 in 5A with Valpo being the largest school.

This certainly is a first for IHSAA realignment.

At least with Elkhart and Valpo being reasonably close together they could just slot Elkhart into Valpo's position for 6A. 5A will be a little trickier.
