Harrison escaped Plainfield at home while Whiteland went into Plainfield's senior night and kicked ass.

This is true, but Whiteland also lost to Martinsville. Martinsville lost to both Plainfield and Decatur Central, who are not good. I watched the Martinsville and Decatur Central game this year and honestly both teams were super underwhelming. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that Martinsville somehow beat Whiteland by multiple scores.

Though I must say Whiteland’s win over Lawrence North is more impressive than Harrison’s best win which was at Jeff.

    Yeah, he’s right.  You’re salty.

“Weird I had to spell that out to you”

I asked a normal question and you had to talk down to me in your response for some reason. That’s what made me upset. I simply matched your energy from there on out.

Lighten up old man, try to enjoy the remaining years you have instead of being rude to people on the internet.

So that's GS at 2-4 vs your 6A examples and down one score to the 4A example, 2-5 overall.  Maybe not a win over all of them every time, but I don't think GS would get shut down by all seven, if ever given the chance.  All losses within striking distance, especially for a GS offense.

I don't imagine GS would likely back down from getting a 2-year deal with any of them, other than maybe travel limitations.  Then again, GS met Calumet in Brownsburg to make up a covid game, so maybe not so unlikely.

    Until then, all hypothetical.

    image.jpeg

What site are these predictions from?

And come on man lol. Warsaw is not squeaking out a win over Terre Haute South… everyone knows that.

It was week 1 with 3 freshman starters and like 5 or so sophomores….against a team with a lot of seniors.  It’s the only loss THS has so far too

GS just got a win over the defending 5A state champs in KY….only a 4 point win.  Is that better for you lol

if people think Chatard can play with these teams….then West Lafayette and Gibson Southern can give them a run for their money too.

do they have to play a more perfect game? Commit fewer mistakes/turnovers?

    Absolutely.

But don’t just assume that mid level 6A teams will have a walk in the park against the top of 3A.  GS and WL might be 4A in a few years from enrollment and if they were 4A playing the same schedule this conversation wouldn’t happen lol

THS only has 1 loss because they play pretty bad teams. And they are coming off 1-9 and 2-8 seasons… they’re a bad program.

That is a great win and a game I didn’t think they’d win.

Chatard is better than both, 100%. I could see GS and Chatard having a somewhat competitive game. West Lafayette is worse than they were last year. But GS is not hanging around with Roncalli like Chatard did, I’m sorry.

I don’t assume anything based on class. I go by results and who people play. GS is great and punch above their weight easily. They’re no doubt one of the 5 best teams in 3a this year. But 3a is very watered down this year, similarly to how 5a is but not quite as much.

I’ll take Gibson Southern over all of them

Might have an opening next year on the schedule. Make it happen lol

You’re a Gibson Southern fan, of course you would. A 7 point win over Terre Haute South is not impressive at all. All 7 teams I listed would blow Terre Haute South out of the water

    Kokomo - HM (#36)

Power rankings by your definition I guess.  I mean Carmel, Warren and LC have two losses and are still near the top.

Weird I had to spell that out.

Alright dude lol. Don’t know why you have to be condescending.

I guess it’s weird you have Gibson Southern at 21 and West Lafayette at 25. Warsaw, Franklin Central, Lawrence North, Lafayette Jeff would all beat those 2. Noblesville, Mooresville and Zionsville all would also beat Gibson Southern.

    Weird.

  8. 3 minutes ago, temptation said:

Not sure what you mean.  It’s a week to week deal based on results.

Sort of throwing darts based on common opponents and box scores.

Essentially meaning that AP and Coaches polls pretty much always don’t have the 10 best teams.

Like when a 6a team who has an easy schedule goes 9-0 and is in the top 10 while an MIC team who everyone knows would beat said undefeated team is not in the top 10.

So I basically am asking is this more of a “poll” or power rankings (perceived best teams, regardless of record)?

C’mon naysayers… it was 63-0 at halftime and a running clock in the second half.  Jeff has a strong offense.

    Actually 70-0 at half

Richmond is really bad. Jeff has been great at exploiting bad defenses since Shanley got there.

Also, Jeff was up 63-0 or 70-0 at half against Richmond last year too. That game ended 70-0. So in the last 2 years, Jeff has beaten Richmond by a combined score of 150-0.

2 seasons ago, Jeff won 77-6. So the last 3 years Jeff has won by a combined score 227-6.

Avon @ Brownsburg:  It appears the changing of the guard on the west side is complete as these two programs are trending in complete opposite directions.  Brownsburg could make a case for best team in the state currently while Avon is in survival mode.  Dogs make it 5 in a row in this series in lopsided fashion.  45-13.

Fishers @ Hamilton Southeastern:  Two top 10 teams in my opinion.  Heated rivalry game and both have big goals for the remainder of the season.  This one could be a classic.  I’ll take HSE 24-23.

Franklin Central @ Zionsville:  Another  chance for the Flashes to prove they belong as this was their first big win last season.  Zionsville seeking revenge on their home field.  They get it 24-17.

Westfield @ Noblesville:  Mentioned in the other thread that Westfield has not been super impressive this season but their dominance of this conference gives me hesitancy in predicting them to lose.  Noblesville, on the other hand he is picking up the pieces in a situation that looks eerily similar to last fall.  The Rocks championship pedigree wins out as they begin to hit their stride en route to another conference title.  Rocks win 34-20.

    What say you?

    Brownsburg 48-6

    HSE 30-27

    Zionsville 36-14

    Westfield 30-10

Carmel @ Pike:  Hounds coming off a big out of state victory and easily the best two loss team in Indiana.  Pike, searching for answers after getting throttled by west side rival BD last week.  Hounds roll 37-13.

Center Grove @ Ben Davis:  Game of the night as CG coming off a loss for the first time in 2+ years.  Ben Davis looking poised after rolling Avon/Pike in consecutive weeks.  Think CG’s mindset and leadership gets it done in a close one.  28-23 Trojans

Lawrence Central @ Warren Central:  Predicting a low scoring affair here as the gauntlet for both teams continues.  I could really see this one going either way.  Big rivalry win last week for the Bears, while Warren won a sloppy one over a poor NC team.  Warren eeks one out here 20-14.

North Central @ Lawrence North:  The good news?  NC scored some points last week.  The bad news?  Their D has been a screen door.  LN will be hungry after a rivalry loss and NC will provide enough medicine for the Cats to feel good Friday night.  LN wins 23-7.

    Carmel 45-14

    CG 31-17

    Warren 34-20

    LN 28-10

    Damn.  Be nice, lol.

Yeah could have been nicer, just tough to show respect to people who either A. Can’t remove their bias when judging how good teams are outside of their area, or B. Just ignore how dominant Indy powerhouses like Westfield have been over non-Indy schools in the postseason.

I really doubt anyone on here with half a brain outside of Fort Wayne would pick Carroll to beat Westfield this year.

Can't speak of the south, but after last night, here is where I see the north:.

    Tier 1: Carmel, HSE

Tier 2: Penn, Fishers, and Carroll

Tier 3: Westfield, Elkhart, Crown Point

Tier 4: Jefferson, Warsaw, Noblesville, Zionsville, Homestead

Incredibly ignorant to have Westfield a tier below Penn and Carroll. Your bias is showing sir.

Here we go.  Time to look silly on Saturday morning once again.

Hamilton Southeastern @ Avon:  Two programs heading in opposite directions.  HSE has its sights set on dethroning Westfield en route to the conference title, while Avon is looking to get out of the conference cellar.  This one may stay close early but HSE pulls away late.  Royals win 34-21.

Brownsburg @ Franklin Central:  It would be just like Brownsburg to be the story heard round the state after a big win and lay an egg the next week.  FC's offense never got off the bus last week against Roncalli.  A letdown for the Bulldogs?  Nah, but closer than most think.  Brownsburg wins 27-17.

Noblesville @ Fishers:  The Millers gained some legitimacy last week with an out of state win, while Fishers improved to 2-0 and wants to join its rival in the conference title talk.  Two teams with lots of promise and fighting for the upper tier of the conference.  I will take the home team in a nail biter, 23-20.

Zionsville @ Westfield:  An easy win for the Eagles and a bounce back win for Westfield.  That New Pal loss is and will continue to look better week by week and the Shamrocks have owned this conference for the last two falls.  I expect that to continue with a win over Zionsville, 27-14.

    What say you?

    HSE 36-10

    Brownsburg 35-14

    Fishers 27-16

    Westfield 20-13

Sorry a little late.  Struggling getting a read on some teams through the first couple of weeks, lol.  Third time is a charm?  (Still including Carmel/CG.)

Lawrence North @ Lawrence Central:  Two teams obviously better than their record indicates and the case could be made that LC (along with Carmel) is the best 0-2 team in the state.  Is this a changing of the guard on the northeast side?  LN is not "rebuilding" per se but is definitely feeling the losses of a couple of blue chippers over the last couple of falls.  LC, on the other hand, might have the talent advantage here and will undoubtedly have the best player on the field in Mickens.  Both teams very well coached, but I am going with the Bears, 28-24.

Warren Central @ North Central:  The Warriors proved they are among the state's (and possibly midwest's) elite last week with a thumping of a talented King squad.  The Panthers, on the other hand, laid an egg for the second consecutive week.  These are programs heading in opposite directions at the current moment.  It gets worse for NC this week.  Mercy rule could come into play.  Warren wins 41-6.

Ben Davis @ Pike:  BD woke up in the second half and throttled west side rival Avon, while Pike had its second near miss against an HCC foe in as many weeks.  This one is for west side Marion County bragging rights and there are usually a lot of points in this one.  I say the Giants pull it out on the road, leaving Pike 0-3, all in fairly close affairs.  41-34 BD.

Center Grove @ Trinity (KY):  Can't really get a feel for this one.  Both teams own wins over Carmel and are very well coached on both sides of the ball.  The transitive property does not always work but Trinity's double digit road win at Carmel looks slightly better than CG's home win over Carmel.  Now that I have said that, I am going to throw it out the window, lol.  I just can't predict CG to lose until I see it.  31 in a row for the Trojans in another nailbiter.  CG wins 27-24.

Cass Tech (MI) @ Carmel:  Could a central Indiana squad make it 2/2 over Michigan powerhouses?  Both teams have some elite, power 5 next level talent.  Looking on the surface, that may be a push.  Cass Tech lost an in-state shoot out last week while Carmel suffered a narrow rivalry defeat in a hostile environment.  I say the Hounds get back on track this week.  34-28.

    What say you?

    LC 28-14

    Warren 45-7

    BD 38-28

    Trinity 33-24

    Carmel 28-26
