Section 24 Thread
TigerFan20 replied to TigerFan20's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Northview rolled into Jasper and forced around 5 turnovers in a 28-14 win, their Defense locked down Jasper in the 2H and Jasper never scored again. I was really hoping for a Jasper/Memorial matchup in the Final, but that didn’t happen. Maybe a Reitz/Memorial matchup is possible, unless Boonville upsets Reitz (if they face each other) -

Everyone enjoyed the usual Reitz/Central round 1 matchups from 2016-2019 lol -
Memorial should be pretty mad after coming off Friday nights loss. But Xander Hunt is going to be tough to contain for the Tigers
-
Calpreps Harrison at Mater Dei (-17) Central at Castle (-37) Memorial at Vincennes (-3) Reitz (-53) at Bosse Jasper at North (-7) Pretty much similar lines

Why do I think it will be like that -
From my understanding, the draw is coming up on October 9. All eyes on this one in the SIAC Sectional+ Boonville EDIT: I meant Sectional 24 on the Topic

Both teams had a lot of missed opportunities in that game, especially Memorial in my opinion, Reitz took advantage of it, although they had some mistakes too (fumbling the ball with 4 minutes left, giving Memorial a fight chance)

Makes you think if Memorial didn’t play above average last night and at its strength, could’ve been a different outcome. But I’m sure a rematch might happen in the sectional, unless the 9-0 curse continues.

Week 6 Observations Mater Dei took care of business against Bosse and improves 5-2, as a big matchup with Reitz is brewing. Bosse continues to struggle unfortunately. Harrison wiped the floor with Central last night with a a very strong performance by Deshawn Brown in his first career start at QB. Central looks like they have packed up their bags and looking towards to next season. Huskies beat Vincennes in a thrilling matchup to gain some momentum heading towards the end of the season, as the Huskies have a decent chance at finishing 6-3. Sounds like Vincennes struggled a bit defending against St. Louis and a few other problems. How about them Wildcats in Jasper, after almost blowing a 22 point lead in the late 2H and facing an OT game, Jasper ends up winning 43-42 in OT against Castle. Castle had some problems early on, but they did enough to force a very good OT matchup and taking the lead. However, Jasper decided to go for the win and got it. Sounds like this was a very good matchup Game of the Week Reitz is the new King of the SIAC, as they secured the SIAC title over Memorial last night. Reitz was very dynamic all around, although they made some mistakes throughout. However, that didn’t bother them whatsoever, as the Swarm Defense was too fast for the Memorial. It was also the Thomas show last night too, as the senior WR/DB had 1 TD and 1 INT, plus a few big gain 3rd down conversions. Now and interesting question arrives for the Panthers, should Vera remain at QB? While my Tigers did lose, I am w surprised that the defense did pretty well holding down Reitz to only 3 offensive TDs, and forcing 3 turnovers. Offensively, Memorial was all over the place, and not scoring within the 25 yard line twice towards the end really hurt their chances. But when you play the #1 team in the SIAC that will happen, I do think Memorial will be fine overall, as a potential sectional matchup is being anticipated!

Heeke does have a leg it seems

Had the same thought, other than Reitz, it has been an interesting season

Unofficial Reitz/Memorial Stats Reitz Offense: Passing: 156 yards Rushing: 216 yards Total: 372 yards Memorial Offense: Passing: 166 yards Rushing: 65 yards Total: 231 yards

JH lines; Harrison at Mater Dei (-17) Central at Castle (-42) Memorial at Vincennes (-7) Reitz (-53) at Bosse Jasper at North (-7)

Exactly what I was thinking
-
Eh, starting to think about now and all the points mentioned above, have a night of celebration for winning the SIAC and work on those mistakes, however, I do understand why Brunson did this too
-
Probably because Reitz hasn’t been a penalty heavy team for most of the season. Pretty sure they had like 9-11 penalties throughout the game. That is how I understood it
-
Love the move by Brunson
-
Week 7 Finals Harrison over Central, 42-7 Mater Dei over Bosse, 35-12 North over Vincennes, 17-14 Jasper over Castle, 43-42 in OT Reitz over Memorial, 27-18 to win the SIAC
-
Best in position right now is Mater Dei. Since the SIAC is already done, I will post a scenario later this week
