Castle at Reitz One of the biggest matchups we have been waiting for the last couple of weeks, as 4-1 Castle travels to the WestSide against the undefeated 5-0 Reitz Panthers at the Bowl. Reitz is coming off another dominating win against Central in a shot out behind a strong performance of Vera (at QB), Summers, Burnett, Thomas and more. Reitz is coming off an impressive dominating performance over a tough Vincennes team, as the Knights have discovered a hidden gem in McCool. So, who wins this matchup, if Reitz wins, the remains king of the SIAC, if Castle wins they tie and for first and bust open the conference? As @Football Fanatic has already said about common opponents. The most eye catching score is their wins over Vincennes. As Castle dominated the Alices last week, while Reitz went back and forth with them until the last game winning play (I’ll be fair as this was an early game). But this game won’t be played on grass, if you want to make that an argument. Let’s break down the stats: Total Offense/passing/rushing: Reitz- 430.6 YPG/269.8/160.8 Castle- 290.8/145.2/145.6 Reitz is definitely more of an heavy passing threat this season averaging around 270 passing yards a game, while doing well on the rushing attack. Castle, on the other hand, is more balanced when it comes to the Passing/Rushing game, although pretty low statistically, they do their job. Total Defense/passing/rushing Reitz- 198.7 YPG/49.7/149.2 Castle- 298.6 YPG/133.8/164.8 Reitz currently holds the #1 spot in the SIAC defenses in being the top dog in passing defense, while placing #6 in the rushing allowed category. Castle is currently 6th overall in the SIAC defenses, being in the middle of the pack statistically, although very quick to the ball. Final judgment Depending on the status for Davies tonight, I do think we will be seeing Burnett more. However, I still think Reitz will be fine either way due to their depth of skill players. However, I am under the impression Davies will play tonight against Castle. But, I am not counting our Castle at all, since they are a solid team with some ball hawks on the defensive side. But they are going to be very, very active against Thomas, Vera and Summers the entire night. Going to be interesting to see how well can Reitz defend against a very good Castle LB Corp. And how well can Castle pass the ball against Reitz D. Reitz is inching towards that SIAC crown for the first time since 2017, I wouldn’t blink Reitz. Castle may have some tricks of their sleeves. Give me a hard fought victory on the West Side…. Panthers will be roaring over the Knights by 12

Week 6 predictions Jasper at Central With guys slowly coming back for Jasper, including the return of WR/DB Bair and DE Senninger, should give the Wildcats a boost this week after their loss against Mater Dei in the Wildcat Showdown. Jasper will be running down Central's throat tomorrow, while I can see a decent 1st half from Central, give me the Wildcats by 4 scores. Harrison at Vincennes Starting to look like the momentum is starting to wear off for the Warriors, they head to Vincennes in hoping to create some type of momentum. However, they will face off an angry Vincennes coming from their loss against Castle. Vincennes plays tough in Inman Field and they will continue that trend tomorrow night, give me the Alices by 3 scores Bosse at Memorial After a slow start of the season, Memorial is now on a 3-game winning streak is near healthy, and is rolling along now with their starters. With the passing game starting to look a lot better and the running game doing its job, Memorial appears to be in good hands. Unfortunately for Bosse, the season hasn't gone as planned with a lone win over Central, but the offense has a nice trio of juniors in Hope, Thomas and Wagner. However, give me Memorial in a running clock Mater Dei at North North bounced back with a surprising win over Jasper 27-7 under a strong performance from QB Wunderlich. North also had a bounce-back win over Bosse with a stellar performance by soph Jason Rucker with 257 rushing yards in the game. I will see Mater Dei throwing the ball a lot more in this game, as their high-powered offense will try to exploit North's passing defense. Since running the ball may not be the option, North has the #1 rushing defense in the conference. There are questions on North's St. Louis availability tomorrow night, which could affect the game's outcome. But with a solid back in Rucker, North should be fine, although Mater Dei's defense isn't a joke either since they are getting back to shape. I don't know about this one, flip a coin, and I think Mater Dei pulls this one out by 7. I will post my in-depth one of Reitz/Castle later

Memorial’s practice field won’t be able to accommodate a full stadium at all. It will likely be built somewhere else and that is a big question too. It will be a while before Memorial moves out of Enlow unless someone drops a few million dollars to build one.

Bold prediction this week: 5 SIAC teams will have a win this week

Reitz’s defense next year is going to be very good since they lose no one I think. Maybe 1 or 2 players in the rotation due to graduation

Passing D has been lockdown all year long, pretty sure Reitz has been #1 through 5 weeks so far. The Rushing Defense is beginning to improve too, since at one point, Reitz was giving up around 190 YPG a couple of weeks ago. And now, it looks like it is dropping another 25.0 YPG each week (Last weeks was at 174.0 YPG now down to 149.6 YPG)

I have a feeling Memorial will be running the ball a lot on Friday night, Bosse’s rushing defense isn’t the best. Passing Defense, statistically pretty good. It’s going to take some time for Mullan to get the Dawgs into shape, I hope he stays there for a while. While I won’t be at the game, the Tigers will be roaring on a depleted Bosse team. Wouldn’t overlook them however, since there was that 2019 scare. But that is just my opinion

This stirs up the Memorial Crowd, but we will be on visitor’s side against Bosse. At least Memorial didn’t schedule Homecoming this week
