  1. Entering the 03 tourney Warren Centrals  6 opponents they would face in the playoffs  had a combined 13 loses going into the playoffs. North Central had the most with 5. BD had 1 lose (to Warren) Penn had 1 lose ( to BD by 3 points) CG had 2 loses ( BD and Warren) LC had 1 lose (LN) LN had 2 lose (CG and BD) LN also held wins on Warren and Carmel that year. I would say that is an impressive group of teams Warren played in the 03 playoffs.

But hey I guess there could have been more impressive runs

What strikes me are some of the names on this

Monrovia? - thought that was a pretty solid program, but Im not that familiar with the lower classes

Brand new head coach who took over about 7 weeks before season started. Brought completely different offense and defense than the kids had been running most their lives.

Been tough watching the Dawgs struggle under the new leadership. The senior class is who I have felt very bad for. I was on staff but left early in the season due to personal reason.

  3. Seeding the sectionals would do nothing to make the playoffs better. If the best 2 teams in a class are in the same sectional they would play in the sectional final when they should be playing in LOS.

Seed the teams 1-64or 1-32 and if either team would have to travel a long distance have the game at a neutral site.

    Response from everyone-

    That's a terrible idea

You are taking away home games

They will have to play eachother at some point just win the game

BD is not responding to adversity very well. Had the chance to be in the lead at halftime, but the pick six on the first possession of the second half seemed to devastate the team. Friday night will be a major challenge...hoping we have something for WC.

I'm sure the Giants will get up for a long standing rivalry game. I'll be there next week

That brutal SEC schedule sure has doomed Alabama 6 times over the past decade and is also probably why they lost to Clemson handily last January too huh?

Can't have it both ways and try to tell the story AFTER the fact...

In the last 10 year the SEC has had 2 teams win National championships. In the past 10 year the MIC has had 4 different teams win state titles. Each year any of those 4 teams has the ability to win a state title but only 1 does because the schedule prepares that 1 team to win it all. The other 3 teams most the time gets knocked out by another MIC team.

Maybe I need to dig and find that post I made over the summer where sometimes the grind of the MIC “costs” teams in the postseason when they lose yet the MIC “prepared them for the tournament” when they win.

For some team in the MIC this is a true statement. CG vs. Warren 2010 is a great example of 2 teams beating th holy dog snott out of eachother week 9 then both losing in the 1st round of sectionals.

Then you could take center Grove 2015. They had 5 game they won by 7 or less points including a 1 point OT win over Avon to claim and undefeated state championship season.

The MIC can be both a blessing and a curse some years for teams in the conference.

How important is The MIC title to most of these schools?

Does not seem to be a topic that is discussed all that often.

It would be nice to see the conference champ rewarded for their regular season excellence in some way.  Perhaps a guaranteed first round home game would be a nice reward

Cant speak for teams in the present but when I played for Warren Coach Wright stressed that winning the MIC was our #1 goal. Some years you could say The MIC is the best Conference in the Midwest. So to me I would be proud to say I my team and I are the winners of the touest conference in Indiana year in and year out.

( Side note the HCC is having a great year this year and cant wait to see how they do come playoff time.)
