It's gonna come down to Turnovers, The passing game and Czarnecki's foot.

You were almost perfect this week.  Judson didn’t turn the ball over.  Judson completed the biggest pass of the game.  Alas, Czarencki’s leg was a non-factor.  He did a great acting job pretending to get hit on a field goal.  Refs pooped their panties on that one.  They also attempted a 47 yard field goal that was about ten yards short.

I need to know:   was the game 2-0 at all at any point in Jays game?     I mean 9-7,  did Judson miss a PAT and make a FG?   Did Nick Uranker have a kid already ??  some people are dying to know!!!  Those people, is really just me.

Sadly it was not 2-0 at any point.  However, the Jays had a chance to get another safety and just missed it.  Jays converted a FG with 54 seconds to go to take the lead by a kid named Stone Cold Peyton Roberts.   Nick Urankur I believe has kids when he isn’t power cleaning 500lbs.

  3. Judson 9 LaVille 7

Judson plays Pioneer for a conference title next week.  These Bluejays have been resilient all year and showed tonight that they are ready for any challenge in the upcoming 1A tournament.  But for tonight we celebrate a big win against a very good team and a great program.  Under Coach Lambert the Jays have won 14/20 games.

It’d be easy enough to do it this year. A lot will happen between weeks 8 and 9. With Judson playing laville and then pioneer. If laville or pioneer lose to Judson and the other wins out, conference champ. If Judson beats both, conference champ. If Judson loses both winner of matchup in sectional 34 serves as tie breaker.

Totally agree.  Someone needs to be crowned king.

Did the Hoosier North Athletic Conference decide to have a conference champion?

Nope.  Not this year.  Sad that so many good matchups were missed this year.  Pioneer and LaVille would have been fun.  Knox and Winamac would have had some fun story lines involving coaching.

For Knox last night, I was thoroughly unimpressed with their defense. Offensively I understand struggling without Rose in the lineup but that defense was undisciplined and not very physical compared to the Hendryx teams of the last few years.

If someone would have predicted that Knox would lose four games before the tournament I would have said pass whatever you’re drinking this way.  Can they salvage what’s left of this season or are they in a Chernobyl style meltdown?

    Triton at NJSP (+18)

So if you are a man of your word . . .  and I take it you are.  And IF and I emphasize the word IF you were a betting man, you would be making that donation to GID.

The line was NJSP +18 . . .  the final score was NJSP 30, Triton 12.  That is exactly 18 points.  The house wins all ties.  See the donation link as The GID is still taking donations to cover expenses for the year.

Let's see how we did on the others:

Glenn at LaVille (+27). If you took Glenn, You would have won.

From what I watched on a live stream, the game was much closer than some expected.  I think jh had his pick at 31-17, if I remember correctly.

LaVille had the ball inside the red zone three times - lost the ball on downs once, missed a field goal and threw an interception near the goal line.

The Lancers definitely had their chances.

The LV defense was the difference, IMO, 2 INTS, 2 fumble recoveries, 4 punts, and held on downs

What a game . . . fans in attendance got their monies worth.

Not a work of art for either team, but also got to remember there are a lot of young puppies playing out there.  A pair of freshman QBs being asked to direct their team.

    Caston at Culver (-8)

    Culver wins 36-12.  Culver wins.

    Pioneer at Knox (-9)

    Pioneer wins 38-20. Pioneer wins.

    West Central at Winamac (+24)

Winamac 35-12 ..... If you took West Central, you win.

    Remember These Are Just Predictions.

as always, the game is better

  8. The show is a fun time for kids and coaches.  I guess we are supposed to refrain from being around each other even though we spend hours together in school and practice.  It's a real bummer that when we finish our practice on Thursday they will have already announced the matchups for our sectional.  I am all for seeding the sectional.  The regular season needs to mean something beyond conference championships and simply preparing for the tournament.

  9. Caston 28 Culver 20- Comets have speed.  Culver has slowed down since King quit on his team.

LaVille 35 Glenn 10- LaVille is finding their groove in a short season.  Hopefully pioneer and laville meet in the sectionals to make up for their missed game earlier this year.

Pioneer 30 Knox 18- Close game last year.  If it’s close early Knox D should be able to hang.  Knox feels like a powder keg though.  One good play from igniting this team in the right direction for the rest of the season.  One bad play or injury from unraveling entirely.

North Judson 36 Triton 7- Jays keep rolling.

Winamac 24 West Central 10-  Someone has to win.

CMA @ N. Judson - CMA has struggled, but they're playing some pretty decent competition.  Judson is putting up big numbers against weak teams.  At this point I don't see Judson as a top 10 1A team, though they are getting votes.  They will have a chance to prove themselves in the next 4 weeks.  But I think Saturday will be a wake-up call for the Jays.  CMA 28-14

If CMA had 60 kids or more on the team I might agree with you.  But they don’t.  CMA looks like two different teams.  First couple games they were slow off the ball and not very physical.  Against Hobart and New Prarie they seemed to find a different gear. Maybe they’re a team that plays up or down to their competition.  The coach at CMA says this game is coming at the right time for them.

    My point still stands.

You are telling me Culver's offense will score more on Winamac's defense then North Judson's offense did and will score more then LaVille did? LaVille may not have even scored an offensive TD had Winamac been able to prepare for that defense.

I imagine Winamac will do some reshuffling of their offensive line. If they move Seymour to Center and put Podell at tackle, both are bigger and stronger than who started last Friday.

And their DL is fine. Their whole defense is so far. I think they'll lead the way Friday. Zehner is a good coach and those kids will be ready to go.

Culver scored 20 on Knox in the first half so they can push guys around.  I expect they’ll push the warriors around as well.

So Culver's offense is gonna score more on Winamac then Judson's did?

Culver's offense is gonna score twice as many touchdowns as LaVille's did against Winamac?

Culver’s offense has been up and running a lot longer than LaVille.  Continuity goes a long way in football.  Culver hasn’t lost any of their physicality.  They may have lost some speed but up front they are still very physical.

A quick question before we get into predicting Week #4 Games -

With the quarantining of various teams, will there be an HNAC Champion Crowned?

Not trying to be a smart guy here . . .  Just asking a simple question.

Maybe it has been discussed . . .  Maybe the answer is an obvioys 'No' 2020 HNAC Champion Crowned since all teams could not play the entire conference schedule.

From what I have heard there will not be a conference champion.  To be honest, they should have had better guidelines in place for the variety of outcomes that could occur this season.  They could have set a number of qualifying conference games to be eligible for the championship.  They could have told teams to rearrange schedules to drop non-conference opponents and make up conference games if possible.  Such as last week Pioneer and Winamac could have made up there game that was missed.  I am not blaming any school or officials.  However, it is very disappointing to see the lack of transparency or guidance on this matter.  I am just glad everyone is in action this week and hope for good health and safety to all participating teams.

  15. Glad to see every school in action this week.  The rivalry game in Starke County feels a little bigger than it has in the last couple of years.  Russ Radtke returns to Liberty Field wearing Red?  It must be 2020.  This week I’ll take:

    North Judson over Knox

    Pioneer over Caston

    LaVille over Winamac

    Bremen over Triton

    Culver over West Central
