Sad to report this morning that Betsy Fouts, wife of longtime North Putnam defensive coordinator & NPMS math teacher Dan Fouts, has posted on her Facebook page that Dan passed away this morning due to both lungs collapsing and the hospital could not revive him.  Dan had been battling COVID and its effects since Christmas break and had recently been allowed to come out of sedation as he was starting to breathe on his own more and more.  Please pray for his family, students and CougarNation as we deal with another blow to this small community.  Thank you.

I will have my eye on this game.  I agree that this could be a "trap" game for the Miners.  South Putnam tends to start a little out of sync and only get stronger throughout the game.  I anticipate Linton leading at first but then South to catch up and make it a see-saw battle.  Should be a barn burner...

The best thing I see on here is people overlooking South Putnam in 1A.  They beat Parke Heritage last year in the sectional and didn't lose very many players.  They are looking very good going into the tourney - but will get tested tonight at 2A #4 Linton.  Coach Sorrell has them humming along.  They will not go away easily to any 1A opponent...their only loss so far is to 3A #12 Owen Valley back in like week 3.  Lutheran would have an advantage over South Put....their schedule is the toughest 1A schedule I have seen among the top 5-10 teams.

Former North Putnam Assistant Coach, Randy Summers has passed away after a short illness in Florida.  His wife, Janelle, sent word to the CougarNation community that he passed away early this morning (8/17) after valiantly battling.  Please pray for this wonderful family as he leaves Janelle and 2 sons (Maverick & Drake) and 2 daughters (Kassidy & Josie).  CougarNation is doing its best to support the family.  Thank you.

Don't underestimate this WeBo team.....they are a young team who wasn't really supposed to win 2A for a 3rd year in a row....but they came together in a BIG way to pull off the 3-peat.  I can see them sneaking up on most 3A teams - except maybe Danville....

Not real sure that South Putnam is reloaded this year.....

Since WeBo has moved out of 2A and LCC has taken their spot in sectional 37, I am sure that they will make noise in the post season....someone always does from this sectional.

I would say that the program is doing itself a disservice by not fidning a tougher conference to play in to get more competition.

Interesting fact...when North Putnam went to state 10 years ago, we played Mater Dei in the semi-state and then Luers in the Finals......but they had a future Dallas Cowboy starting linebacker on their team....

I still think your defense is LIGHTS OUT....you will pull this one out!

Great game as the South Putnam Eagles overcome Parke Heritage by a score of 43-40.  South Putnam has the kind of defense that wins - it clamps down and makes big plays when the game is on the line!  The Eagles will continue to fly another week!

Look out 2A....the Stars have reloaded and are looking to become 3-time Champs!
