I almost felt like I needed security to even give the proper signal. Ugh...
Sorry, you were in this position, feeling this way while trying to make a call.

Thanks, Bobref. I wasn't sure. I was almost certain that was the rule at other levels, but I know there are often differences in high school rules.
Context:
The ball was spotted at the 17yd line. The line to gain was the 16yd line. It was 4th down with maybe 3min remaining in the 4th quarter. The possessing team was down 6 points.

Congratulations to the Tigers on another good season.
Congratulations to the Bulldogs on a big win.
Now, I seen some crazy things and puzzling calls (or lack there of) happen in HS football. But this is not the NCAA or NFL with re-play, and the refs do the best possible job they can....so I'll just leave it right there.
I was watching the video stream. I had to rewind several times because I didn't understand what was happening and questioned whether I just saw what I thought I saw.

Congratulations Dogs. Go to Lucas Oil.
I didn't expect the Tigers to lose over 100 yds on penalties and the kicking game. Those yards add up in close games.

Lip2. Lip2 Good to see you're alive!
Lip2 is right, sometimes sagarin numbers don't jive.
Like when them dawgz were driving, and knelt on the five!
Victory margin of 10 instead of three.
Them dawgz would be ahead in the sagarin you'd see.
Rankings and rankings, C3 don't care.
In just a few hours they meet, to settle the affair.
When the lights go out and the game is complete.
It'll be BULLDOG BLs, what a delightful treat!
The Sherman ........FOREVER! Boogie Nights......NEVER
The Sagarin is an excellent predictor. People who question it and think it plays favorites are people that tend to ignore data, don't understand how the Sagarin works, and are driven by "feelings" instead of facts.
Smart people can adjust the Sagarin mentally for what it doesn't "know." In this case, when you add in the factors the model can't account for (missing players, added players, and a whole host of other variables) the needle moves more toward The Burg.
Tigers by 7.

Ahh, the week we've all been waiting for! Maybe one of the biggest games in the State this week. The Dogs are getting no respect from AP, Coaches, Sagarin, and now the GID. I love it that so many people are writing them off.
Stinktown will come ready to play, I don't doubt that, but these Dogs are built different and ready to put away all doubt! I don't think it will be as close as some believe, even with Bighaus. Dogs take it by two scores and roll on to Sectional Championship game....whoever that may be.
We'll see ya soon....we'll see ya real soon!
Sagarin isn't giving The Dogs respect? That is absolute nonsense. 🤣 By what mechanism do you propose the Sagarin is shortchanging the Dogs from Casket Town?
If one of these teams isn't getting "credit" from the Sagarin it is the Tigers, because the Sagarin ignores out of state games and doesn't know about all the early season injuries to key personnel for the Tigers.
Second, I will bet you a barrel of Tiger BL or $ equilavent that the Dogs don't win by two scores. Lord!
You must have been at Tuba's when you made that post.

Ryan Knigga is the coaches name.. you don’t have to worry about hearing from Irish Dad anytime soon. He got put in timeout.
Seems like there is a hole in this thread?

I can't speak for Lawrenceburg, but I wonder if this year seems kind of ironic - to be playing in Lukas Oil?? Surely with a ND recruit and the Yoon kid at QB and the stellar WR they had, along with all others, they have to of had that class pegged to be playing for a State Championship?? Only for it to happen the year after??
I know nothing of Chatard this year, - their history suggest they will be very good.
I might be crazy, but I think this year's team is legitimately better than last. The individual parts might not look as good, but the sum of the parts seems to be better. Nothing against last year's team - they lost to the eventual state champ by 2 points in the regional.
Another note, and clearly this is a personal opinion that will not be popular in some circles, but they simply threw too much last year. They were over reliant on a QB who was gifted as an athlete, but didn't seem to be able to get over the hump with decision making despite being a 4-year starter. Imagine this year's running attack with Yoon's passing ability when you need a big play or the defense is stacking the box.- 1

Eh, 10-14. I haven’t been really high on Chatard all season.
Yea, very evident you didn't like Lawrenceburg by looking at your rankings and posts. Not high on Chatard either.
Guess that explains why they are playing each other for the 3A championship. -
Mishawaka?
C'mon - you could have given Lawrenceburg some love after the dominating performance over Southridge. Sure, they are on the border - but shouldn't be excluded for Mishawaka. -
Lawrenceburg 405yds - (396 rush)
Southridge 226yds - (57 rush) -

Undervaluing the Tigers a bit, but that is OK. Easier to come in as the lowly #9 ranked underdog and step on some toes with their very serious defense.
I tried to tell you.

Lawrenceburg 31 Southridge 7 with less than 2 minutes in the 4th qtr
Make that final.

Does anyone have any knowledge whether there is video streaming for this game?

Totally agree! That said, I never thought I would see school delays because it was too cold either. 🙄
It's always the O-line/D-line coaches. Lol
ALWAYS an O-line or D-line coach!

This one has me interested. Should be an absolute dandy! #4 vs #7 squaring off at an iconic venue to decide who is 2020's best 3A team south of Indy. Two tradition rich programs, with nearly identical records and sagarin numbers across the board.
I have a soft spot for SR, so I'll take them by 7 but feel this is a true toss-up game!
Hope it's live streamed?!!?
The Tigers are 6th in the AP poll and 5th in the coaches poll, not sure where your #7 came from.

Unfortunately there are only two EIAC teams left standing. Having had the chance to see both, I think FC wins this game by a touchdown. Franklin County is much more physical and are just as fast at the skilled positions. Wildcats win 28-21.
This didn't age well.

At this point in the game, the 🐅's appear intent on making me eat my words. A whole host of mistakes, penalties, and other silliness keeping it knotted up at zero early in the 2nd qtr with the Knights at the Tiger 30yd line.
Well, that was interesting.
Yoon running for his life half the night.
Giving up an 11yd two-point try.
Not sure what to make of it all.
Video review - proper spot after catch?

I have a 77" OLED 4k monitor. I saw nothing that indicates that the receiver lost control. I will admit that the video isn't super clear, I can't tell you he wasn't losing control, but I don't see any evidence he was either.
The kneel down wasn't even controversial so I didn't mention it. Just wrong. There is no excuse either since I believe there is a horn.
