With only two unbeatens and five teams with 2+ conference losses, it's the de facto HHC championship game this weekend in New Pal.

Greenfield-Central (5-0, 3-0) at New Palestine (4-0, 3-0): This has been the long-awaited matchup of the season. The Dragons have won 22 straight conference games. The Cougars are 0-2 against New Palestine and 14-0 against everyone else the last two seasons. Last year, NP squeaked out a 21-14 regular-season victory before rolling to a 35-0 sectional win. The Dragons' offense has been explosive - with QB Jacob Davis and RB Josh Ranes both ranking in the top 10 in Class 4A in passing/rushing yards. G-C is scoring 41 points a game with QB Dallas Freeman having become the school's career passing leader, while he also leads a four-pronged rushing attack that's been difficult for anyone to stop. This game will probably be won in the trenches, with two of the area's best DL in NP's Michael Thacker and G-C's Payton Foley.

Mt. Vernon (1-4, 1-2) at Pendleton Heights (2-3, 1-2): Two teams that are much better than their records. MV finally got in the win column last week after a brutal opening schedule, beating Delta 49-20. Joliba Brogan is one of the area's top RBs, but the star last week was QB Mason Meyer, who threw for 208 yards and ran for 175 yards and four TDs. PH's offense moved the ball - especially through the air - against New Palestine last week, led by QB Colton Frank, who threw for 289 yards and had two 100-yard receivers.

Shelbyville (1-4, 0-3) at Yorktown (3-2, 1-2): Both teams are coming off losses - Shelbyville fell to Greenfield-Central last week, while Yorktown fell to New Castle. Yorktown has moved the ball with its sophomore QB Sam Tokar, but the Tigers were not able to stop New Castle's ground game last week. Shelbyville has scored 27 points total the last four weeks and is averaging 160 ypg in total offense.

Delta (3-2, 1-2) at New Castle (3-2, 2-1): The Trojans posted one of their biggest conference wins in a few years last week, beating Yorktown 27-13. A big reason why was senior RB Caleb Clapp, who ran for 243 yards and two TDs, as they abandoned their usual Air Raid offense for a ground-based attack. It will be interesting to see if the Trojans keep that strategy against Delta, which has lost two straight games to Yorktown and Mt. Vernon.
