New Palestine has clinched a share of the HHC title, by virtue of its win last week and losses by both second-place teams.

Behind the Dragons is an absolute logjam, with five teams either 3-2 or 2-3.

Last week's scores
Delta 27, Pendleton Heights 26
Mt. Vernon 45, New Castle 21
New Palestine 35, Shelbyville 0
Yorktown 21, Greenfield-Central 7

Week 8 games
Greenfield-Central (5-2, 3-2) at Delta (4-3, 2-3):
The Eagles are coming off a one-point win over Pendleton Heights, while the Cougars are trying to bounce back after back-to-back losses to New Palestine and Yorktown. Last week's loss to Yorktown was G-C's first to a team not named New Palestine since 2022. The Cougars had five turnovers in that game.

New Palestine (6-0, 5-0) at New Castle (4-3, 3-2): The Dragons clinched a piece of the HHC title last week and their defense has shut out back-to-back foes - allowing 88 total yards in the two games. The Dragons struggled to get their offense untracked for a half, but eventually got going as Josh Ranes tallied 139 yards and two TDs. New Castle's three-game winning streak was snapped last week at Mt. Vernon, but the Trojans gained nearly 400 yards in the loss, including 318 through the air. This game features two of the HHC's top passers in NP's Jacob Davis (1,100 yards) and NC's Carson Bell (1,001 yards).

Shelbyville (1-6, 0-5) at Mt. Vernon (3-4, 3-2): The Marauders are in the midst of a three-game winning streak after starting the year 0-4. A big reason why is sophomore QB Mason Meyer continues to improve. He threw for 202 yards last week against New Castle, while Joliba Brogan continues to be one of the most dynamic backs in the league. He tallied 205 yards on the ground last week and is knocking on the door of 1,000 yards. Shelbyville's aggressive defense hung tough against New Palestine for two and a half quarters last week, holding the Dragons to just 14 points until the final four minutes of the third.

Yorktown (5-2, 3-2) at Pendleton Heights (2-5, 1-4): The Tigers are coming off their biggest win of the season, a 21-7 victory over a ranked Greenfield-Central squad. It was led by the ground game, which gained 257 yards on the Cougars, with Wilson Webster tallying 173. PH has been snakebit this season, despite Colton Frank throwing for 1,243 yards, including 238 last week. The Arabians have dropped four straight, but the last two by five combined points. Yorktown has won two in a row.
