PHJIrish Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 The Irish have the same record that they had last year at this point, 1-2, but they have scored on TD and two field goals so far total in the 3 games. No passing offense at all. It didn't help that TE Own Peterson was injured in the Brownsburg game, and he's probably done for the year. He was the only Irish to score a TD. With a 2nd year QB, Cameron Koers, two returning running backs and a more experienced OL, you would think they could score some. It seems the receivers have a difficult time getting open, and then when open, they have trouble catching the ball. I look for that to improve. Of course, the schedule hasn't been too kind either. What happened to playing an easier opening game to get momentum going? Bishop Chatard won't be an easy opponent this week wither. Quote
Boiler Boog Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 That's a bummer to hear about Peterson. When I coached CYO, we played against his St. Simon team almost every year. He was a stud and one of the best players in all of CYO. He seemed like a really good kid too. His dad was the St. Simon coach so I'd occasionally talk to him after games/say hi. Hope he has a speedy recovery as I'm sure he has D1 colleges recruiting him and I hope it doesn't hurt his college prospects. Quote

It's a big loss for the Irish offense, both pass catching and blocking. Quote
