NeonDeion Posted Monday at 01:11 PM Posted Monday at 01:11 PM Rough, rough start for the Central Indiana boys. 1-7 in the conference, and the one win was a 4-point game against a team with 142 straight losses. On to Week 2. Sheridan at Alexandria - Alexandria outplayed Greenfield-Central for 45 minutes but couldn't finish. They'll figure it out this week. Alex wins 49-28. When was the last time an Alex back sat at roughly 500 yards after week 2? Wyatt Fuller might be flirting with it by Saturday morning. Wes-Del at Blackford - Wes-Del gets another one, but not by 70. Blackford plays them tougher, I'm hoping. Wes-Del wins 35-14. FW Concordia at Eastbrook - Adamson & Co fix went wrong last week and take it out on Concordia. Kelly is going to be tough with a few more starts under his belt. Elwood at Tri-Central - I feel like these two are sister programs. Sad that both of these programs have fallen to where they currently are. Tri-Central wins a slugfest, 16-6. Lapel at Frankton - Lapel looked really good against Hamilton Heights, and Frankton not so much against Tipton. In my opinion, Lapel has a great chance to represent the north in 2A. Madison-Grant at Southwood - Madison-Grant was the only winner, narrowly escaping Bellmont. They'll bully Southwood and have their way again this week. Bud's boys won't have much for Brady's. MG wins 35-7 Mississinewa at Marion - Mississinewa had ugly, old tendencies show with 100+ penalty yards. Like Alexandria, I felt like they outplayed Norwell and just came up short. No Mondays is weird to see as well. Marion won't put up much of a fight, and the Tribe gets things rolling early. Mississinewa wins 42-7. Oak Hill at Norwell - Oak Hill played a tough Eastern team really well. Sectional 35 will be fun with those two and Tipton squaring off. Oak Hill gets it right this week and wins 34-21. Quote
Indiansreloaded Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Alex and Sheridan--Sheridan is trying to rebuild after the termination of Bud Wright. Alex is better than last year and should win this one with ease. Eastbrook and Concordia--Eastbrook took a loss last week to Huntington North which hasn't happened often. Concordia has potential but Eastbrook is just too much and rights the ship this week. Elwood and Tri-Central--Both programs are struggling with numbers and this game may come down to who has the most players still playing. Elwood gets the win. Frankton and Lapel--Lapel is very good again this year. Frankton is still a lot like the past but without the Statue of Liberty in the playbook. Lapel takes the W. Madison-Grant and Southwood--Bud Wright will have the Knights ready to play. MG either really is struggling or Bellmont has improved that much. In the end MG sneaks by for a narrow victory to remain undefeated. Mississinewa and Marion--Ole Miss took a hard loss and first opening game loss in a few years. Marion has some talent but a lot of young players including a freshman QB. Mississinewa snaps back and takes it to Marion for a big win. Oak Hill and Norwell--This will be a good game. Norwell beat Ole Miss last week and Oak Hill lost to a very good Eastern team. This game could go into OT but Oak Hill pulls out a narrow victory. Side note, this might be the first time that only 1 CIC school won opening week. I can't remember the last time that only 1 school won in week 1. Quote
irishuncle411 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Sheridan at Alex - Alex wins the home opener on their new turf. Wes-Del at Blackford - Warriors with the win...running clock in the 2nd half. Concordia at Eastbrook - Panthers get in the win column heading into conference play. Elwood at Tri-Central - Trojans...but it will be close. Still pulling kids out of the hallway in Week 2 doesn't lead to wins. How many more conference games will they not play? Lapel at Frankton - Lapel with the win...running clock in the 2nd half. Madison-Grant at Southwood - MG with the win by 3 scores and goes into conference play with momentum. CIC schedule prepares them well for 1A tourney Mississinewa at Marion - Ole Miss comes out ready and puts this one away early Oak Hill at Norwell - Eagles go into conference play winless, but only need to be playing best ball by the end of the year. Bold prediction...they will win the conference and a sectional this year. Quote
