Probably shouldn't have even listed them in the first place. They weren't really on the level the other four schools were on.
No, they were not. Especially Peru. The Bengal Tigers rule.

First, I want to say I agree with you completely, seed them all. But we won't ever do that because if you seed them all you might as well just take that first week of the playoffs out. Just going to be a bunch of blowouts. Even the sectional of death this last year with Chatard, Guerin, Peru, Tippy, Mac(onaquah) would have only had one competitive game in it maybe. \
FTFY. It's not that hard to spell, really.
And the IHSAA putting those Indy area p/p's in that sectional is frankly stupid.

Are you someone who just likes to make noise, or are you someone who actually wants to get involved and do your part for your school system?
Both.
34 minutes ago, Daniel_Bragg said:Absolutely. But again, your vehement hatred for anything turf screams more "I own stock in sod", than a true worrisome taxpayer.
I've stated my reasoning for opposing artificial turf fields at the K-12 level multiple times on this forum, and I can assure you it is much more nuanced than "I own stock in sod". Go back and find those posts yourself, I don't feel the need to retype them again. Thank you.

Are you aware if they currently have a textbook shortage? With as concerned as you obviously are about taxpayer money, I certainly hope you have run for your local school board. We need bean-counters like you...
Yes, government bureaucracies need bean-counters. They tend to oppose the wild and extravagant spending like yourself and others champion.

Why? Players getting cold and wet during and outdoor practice is now too big of a burden for them? The last time I checked football is not a 12-month sport in Indiana, or Michigan.

Laptops*
No one uses textbooks anymore
So laptops are cheap?
1 hour ago, Bash Riprock said:do you truly believe they would see you both as a desired and credible source in their decision-making process?
Yes. I have linked to a variety of desired and credible information concerning the downsides of turf fields, if not in this thread then in others.

Mt Vernon and Carmel already. In Michigan we’re closing in on a dozen or so by now. In 20 years there’ll be 50.
Some details regrading these facilities please. Are they used for actual games, and have the required amount seating, bathrooms, concessions, etc.? If only used for practices does the facility contain an actual 120 yard x 53.3 yard football field?
17 minutes ago, TigerFan20 said:$2.4 million is the amount for both of the fields.
That is a huge amount of money, don't you think? Could buy a lot of textbooks with that.

Once Muda realizes districts are starting to put in indoor football fields he’s really gonna lose his mind.
Yes, I probably will. Do you have examples of this occurring in Indiana yet?

Boonville and Castle down here in Warrick County will be getting turf over the summer. To get this back on topic
How much taxpayer dollars are being spent for each installation?

You do in the OOB.
That is because I created the OOB. As that clubs' creator I have a number of functions:
And IIRC I once tried pinning certain forum threads on both the OOB and the GID main forum. I was subsequently chastised quite heavily by at least one GID admin and told to stop.

is it working for you? Do you have any converts?
I don't know yet. Rome wasn't built in a day. I can only continue to espouse my opinions regarding the matter. If you personally no longer like to read it then you have two choices Bash Riprock; you can put me on ignore or you can contact a GID admin concerning the matter.
1 hour ago, Bash Riprock said:Bottom line, do you see high schools reducing their investments with turf because of your efforts?
Eventually, yes.

ISo here is my suggestion
Seed only #1 and # 2 of each Sectional, therefore guaranteeing you have no 1 v 2 matchups regardless of the total number of teams in the sectional. Then blind draw the rest. This allows for the chance of a ‘new season’ mentality for teams that have struggled.
A middle ground approach that answers both points held by the different supporters.
The first time you have a #1 seed defeated by a randomly drawn #3 seed you will hear the uproar, especially in those tightly contested "sectionals of doom" where 4-5 programs have a legitimate shot at the sectional championship.

Why don’t you create a post and pin it.
That last time I checked I do not have ability to pin posts in the main GID forum. Do you?

But you have done this...over and over and over and over and over..............infinity symbol.
So you are saying the GID never has new members?

This sounds like a good topic for The Indiana High School Band Digest. Take it there.
Do you have a URL for this Indiana High School Band Digest?

That no one outside the band at Scottsburg cares about.
I care. Mr. Doyel cares. These Scottsburg residents and alumni seems to care.
You apparent disdain for non-athletic high school activities is noted.

I consider knowing what you don’t know to be a real skill set. That no one at the Star possess, least of which would be Gregg Doyle. Yes Scottsburg has a decent band, but the basketball roots run much deeper.
Making the ISSMA state finals 30 times in the last 41 years is not just a 'decent' band. It's arguably the most successful extracurricular activity Scottsburg has.

Is Scottsburg senior heavy? I've watched Btown....but haven't seen Scottsburg at all.
According to this missive Scottsburg is really a band school, not a basketball school: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2024/03/27/a-judge-on-the-sax-must-be-scottsburg-pep-band-at-ihsaa-3a-title-game/73085808007/

Way back during my high school days Maconaquah had a home & away series with scheduled with Madison. It was a Saturday afternoon game IIRC. The Braves were the first to make the trip down south, and the team got to stop at a steakhouse for dinner on their way back home. Unfortunately the next year Madison canceled their reciprocal trip to Bunker Hill. 😞

2024 Turf and Beyond
in The Indiana High School Football Forum

Yeah, myself and my fellow student athletes were scarred for life having to play on muddy football fields. And the trauma inflicted on the marching band was just..... well it was bad.
But hey the student manager who had to wash all those muddy uniforms on a Saturday morning ended up turning the experience into moola, he now runs a successful dry cleaning business.
