You can get the posts in which you publicly posted on this forum in other pick 'ems or discussions. Barring any feedback from other participants, I can make Week 2  picks worth (x2). Makeup picks won't be accepted moving forward less in cases of documented or communicated emergency.

Thanks! But you can just start me from zero and count my picks as regular. I hadn't used my account in so long that I had trouble getting in. Not worried about winning just think it's fun to play.

Not to my knowledge.  Crazy thing though is that you could combine MD and Memorial and still have less students (1050 or so) than Harrison, Central, Reitz, or North.  Only would be bigger than Bosse.  What's Jasper's current enrollment?  Probably right around that, at least last time I checked.

We are around 1100. We are just a bit smaller than central.

Is this the answer to the shortage, an untapped resource? From a Facebook post:

🏈 This is significant! On August 26, Mississippi high school football history will be made. SuperTalk Mississippi News reports the state’s first-ever all-female referee crew will officiate a game between (Jackson) Murrah High and Cleveland Central.
“This opportunity is absolutely monumental as it is a positive step in the right direction. Women have always wanted a seat at the table. I’ve been told, early in my career as a baseball umpire and football referee, ‘They’re not ready to see a woman in these sports!’ Why limit us?” Referee Adrienne Barnes asked adding, “Men officiate women’s sports, so why can’t women officiate men’s sports? If we have to take the bruises to open doors for more women, this is the crew to do it.”

Rounding out the crew with Barnes, who will serve as referee, are the following:

    Sarah Fleming – Umpire
Sherri Vaughans – Head Line Judge
    Fran Adams – Line Judge
    Felicia Davis – Side Judge
    Alona Alexander – Field Judge
    Dominique Sutton – Back Judge
    Phylicia Cotten – 40s Clock
Constance Clark – Electronic Clock Operator
    Tamika Lipsey – Chain Crew
    Timika Morris – Chain Crew
    Charmaine Smith – Chain Crew

I’m hoping that with girls wrestling becoming more and more popular that might help with wrestling officiating too.  In watching state last year, there are a lot of top quality referees that have to be close to wanting to retire.

That isn't a stat to hang our hats on. Like you saying your sister is a good kisser...LOL. The key in the game was us throwing 2 incompletions inside our 10 late in 2nd Q, which gave Jasper the ball with TOs and way too much time. They scored with under 30 secs and seized Big Mo. Our only TD being a a KOR is big concern IMO.

I dunno. I’ve heard from more guys than I care to about my sisters abilities.

I was referring to the second penalty. According to Just Rules, a first down gesture is a penalty. I've never seen it enforced though. So that one must be arbitrary. I agree that spiking the ball is a penalty, I just don't agree that it should be. Do I prefer to see a kid hand it to an official? Sure. But I don't see too much harm in spiking a ball.

I can see why they have spiking it as penalty. It’s easier just to say that it’s not allowed at all then to have to try to find an arbitrary point. But, I didn’t think his spiking it was other than excitement over just having an awesome run and he was fired up. It wasn’t directed at anyone. But yeah, umps had to call it.

Without knowing the context and what was being said on the field I can’t say for sure on the second. That one gesture, on its own, I don’t think was flag worthy. But I don’t know what was going on on the field. Looks like they had a conversation before calling it.
