  1. https://www.nvfalcons.com/Article/19673 Looks like NV has landed their next head coach. He'll have some pretty big shoes to fill following Crabtree. Has Attica hired a coach yet?
  2. What is the basis at South Vermillion to make a coach the highest paid? Winning two sectional games in their tenure at said school? TJ Ragan ran the table in the conference and won more sectional games in 5 less years. I’d think he’d be more deserving to be the highest paid coach in the WRC
  3. I would say the difference is that Seeger is a 2A school that has been 1A until 2019. They've been apart of the WRC since it's inception and weren't a 3A school that joined an entirely 1A conference(in 2017, when SV was let in every school was 1A.) All that being said, winning the WRC is a tough task, and it's not like SV had it handed to them, so hats off to them for running the table and good luck to the Patriots, Falcons and Panthers this weekend! It'd be quite a statement to have 3 WRC teams in the Sectional Championship next week!
  4. Anybody heard from @Knowledge recently? I bet that guy could weighhh in on the top Oline of the WRC
  5. Anyone heard from @Tanka Jahari lately? The grid could use some fart sandwiches or whateva the heck that guy was talking about
  6. Does the WRC have room for TWO Hall of Fame Coaches??????????
  7. I think the Greencastle game came down to PH's inability to throw the ball like they usually do when Christian Johnson left the game. It seemed they lost some opportunities to put more points on the board during that game that they likely would have taken advantage of. The North Vermillion game I don't think you can take at face value. North Vermillion is a team coming off of a 1-9 season, and according to the roster started 3 sophomores on offense. They managed to finish 5-5 this season which is a pretty good step forward imo. If you ask me NV probably was a much better version of NV on Friday then they were in Week 7. I was at the PH game and they start a sophomore at QB and he threw it from the opposite 45 yard line all the way down to 3. I'm thinking you could compare his arm talent to that of Christian Johnson, he just doesn't have anyone that can burn the defense deep consistently. I didn't make it to the SP game but it sounds like both teams had opportunities. I heard SP got the ball on the 5 going in and couldn't punch it in, but Channel 10 said they had 2, 4th down TDs. If SP can control the line of scrimmage like they have for most of the season, and like they did last year, I'd expect this game to go in the Eagles favor. If SP can't generate any pressure on Johnson, then he will sling it wherever he needs to.
  8. 1. My sources have told me this as well. I predict a return to West Lebanon. Can he negotiate for his son's job back? 2. The best recruiter in any school's program are the kids themselves... 3. I heard RP middle school team got hammered by NV this season x2, and that SV was beating them until SV QB got hurt. Do they have a really talented group of 5th and 6th graders coming? 4. My source tells me Coach Brown wants to give up Girls Basketball and keep coaching football and being AD... 5. His protection inside the administration is no longer employed is my understanding 6. Someone already answered this but there is no such thing as a bad Crueler. Ask @Knowledge 7. South Put vs Linton is the game of the Week in the WRC despite not being in the conference lol
  9. Quite the trek from Attica to Clinton. Not sure I'd make the drive. SV 49 Attica 0. On another note... are you really a D1 QB if you can't have the game placed on your shoulders and deliver? Lot of INTs when the game is on the line this season... Especially with how down the WRC is this year? Covington has the best draw in the entire Sectional if you ask me. They could be well rested and primed for an upset come Championship week. Covington by whatever they want this week. All I hear about Rockville these days is drama. HOF might be ready for the Seeger job to open applications... Woofs get the win during Bridge Fest. Christian Johnson looks like he hasn't missed a beat since coming back from his concussion. SEEGER!!! Kudos to them for keeping the train on the tracks! I'm going to hold off on a prediction for this matchup until I hear back from my Williamsport people but Seeger has to be the most interesting team in the WRC right now!
  10. Oh I completely agree with you. I was simply poking fun at the Pioneer Individual who suggested bumping everyone to their enrollment class. Considering Pioneer should have been in the 2A State Finals last year I think it's comical to suggest that they move back to 1A
  11. Rambler Dan remains winless after Friday Night, based solely on the Rebels matchup with the Trojans South Newton 22 - Attica 6 North Vermillions at Fountain Centrals has to be the most intriguing game this week. The Mustangs seem to be on an uphill trend this season. I wonder if that has anything to do with a former Falcon joining the Mustang Coaching Staff? Falcons are trying to finish +.500. Regardless I think this is a 3 score game in favor of the Falcons, but it will be a closer game than the score indicates. Falcons 48 - Mustangs 28 Panthers at Wolfs - With the WRC all but wrapped up for the Wolfs, do they get the Win and be done with it or do they try to solidify their State Finals application in the regular season. Wolfs by whatever they want if the field is dry. Is there a big gender reveal being discussed at Parke Heritage currently? Wolfs 62 - Panthers 6 D1s at Seegers - D1 QB says all I need to know about this game. Patriots are in a tail spin after turning over the reins to position coaches 2 weeks ago. I expect Seeger to run the ball and use all 40 seconds after every play. D1s 55-14 Tri-Counties at Covington - Is Karfalt close to the single season passing yards leader? What about for number of attempts? Covington 56 - TC 0
  12. It's my understanding that he still holds his teaching position at the school he previously coached for. I don't quite understand how you might find someone unfit to coach students, but they are still fit to teach them, but those decisions are made by the respective school's administration and I'm sure they had a god reason to retain him as a teacher 🤷‍♂️
  13. I've always been a fan of seeding the top 2 teams in each sectional with the idea that those 2 teams meeting in the sectional championship would create a bigger profit for the member schools. But if the worst team in your sectional has to go on the road to the best team, or vice versa isn't there a realistic chance that the attendance at that game is minimal because everyone knows what is about to happen? You're going to gain attendance at the championship game but lose it in round 1. There's a chance you don't actually make that much more money after you reimburse said school for the lack of profit in Round 1 and then your total sectional profit is divided by the 8 teams in your sectional.
  14. Yes I remember that. It would take an act of God for the Wolfs to not win even a share of the conference, if not completely outright. But in 2018 the defensive coach didn't have the "opportunity" to join the staff in Week 7. Can he propel them to a Sectional Championship? Will he join the Wolfs' wrestling staff this winter?
  15. Is the addition of a former WRC Defensive Coordinator to the Wolfs' staff last week enough to propel them to the ever elusive WRC Championship? Sectional Title?

  17. Last year I remember seeing a video with IHSAA Assistant Commissioner Robert Faulkens instructing coaches on how to clean and sanitize footballs related to the COVID Pandemic. In the video he not only recommends the Wilson Prep Kit but shows you how to use it. https://youtu.be/3A4UtLaOnkg
  18. Sure, but is that it? Does Rensselaer Central have a lack of kids who turn in work or do well academically, or lift extra? Not throwing shade at RC just know that lots of schools have kids like that but don't go to the state finals 10 times across multiple sports in an 8 year span
  19. I'm just trying to think of the amount of money Pioneer has spent at Jostens, or Herf Jones in rings the last 10 years.....
  20. They were a joint corporation. North Central Parke Community School Corporation, the same one PH operates under currently. I believe they were 2 separate corporations until about 2013
  21. Pioneer, not only in football, but in all sports has been absolutely killing it the last 10 years. Heres a brief run down... 2014/15 - Football State Runner Up 2016/17 - Football State Runner Up 2017/18 - Football State Champion 2017/18 - Softball State Champion 2018/19 - Volleyball State Runner Up 2018/19 - Football State Champion 2018/19 - Softball State Runner Up 2019/20 - Girls Basketball State Runner Up 2020/21 - Volleyball State Champion 2020/21 - Girls Basketball ???(TBA) And this doesn't include any of their multiple Semi-State Trips, which there are multiple What are they doing right? It's not like they have an overwhelming enrollment over other 1A teams. I get small schools having a run of athletes but does it usually span 8-10 years of sustained success?
  22. I'm not going to try and stir this up too much(just a little bit) but I think there is a very apparent trend in the Parke Co situation. Here is some data I pulled off of John Harrell's website. Football(Last 4 Years) Wins Losses Average Average Win % Last Sectional Championship Turkey Run(14, 15, 16, 17) 8 32 2-8 20% 2003 Rockville(14, 15, 16, 17) 15 27 4-7 36% 2008 Parke Heritage(18, 19, 20, 21) 24 7 6-2 75% NA Basketball(Last 4 Years) Wins Losses Average Average Win % Last Sectional Championship Turkey Run(14, 15, 16, 17) 28 59 7-15 32% NA Rockville(14, 15, 16, 17) 48 53 12-13 48% 2012/13 Parke Heritage(18, 19, 20, 21) 52 22 13-5 72% 2019/20(Favorite in 2020/21) In both BB and FB they make a significant leap in win %. PH FB has been in the sectional championship 2 consecutive years(How they didn't win at leas tone of them blws my mind). PH BB is a statistical favorite to repeat as sectional champion. What other reason was there to consolidate schools? There is absolutely no way it was to save money, because they still operate both buildings, TR as the MS, and Rox as the HS. Additionally they have to bus all of the TR HS students to Rox and the Rox MS students to TR. On top of all that they had to re-brand TWO campuses as well as supply new uniforms for EVERY. SINGLE. SPORT. This has got to be a million dollar consolidation... for what???? The clear advantage was to be absolutely relevant in every sport. This data reflects BB and FB but their VB team has been good, GB, Tennis, etc. In relation to this thread though... the NSF would not have prevented this as both Turkey Run and Rockville competed in 1A in all classes.
