  1. Maybe I was not clear. Crispus Attucks should NEVER EVER have had to play a game against Roncalli. Never. Agreed this is the perfect example of "Out of Balance". As stated, I think if you are going to move teams up for success, how about moving them down especially related to roster size. Not bought in completely to moving down because of performance. Should Perry Meridian get to move down because of their lack of success in 6A - not sure I would agree with that. Should Attucks be able to move down because of roster size - 100% agree. (Note: The Roncalli kicker was hurt during the Attucks game and Roncalli missed 4 straight extra points. Asked the OC why with a hurt kicker did you not just go for 2. His response, "no way I am going for 2 against a team with 14 players". Great response). Wonder what it takes to get a position in front of the IHSAA to look at mandated minimums or really look at moving teams down for roster size or possibly poor performance.
  2. Sure we can! As long as they come up with a formula that is fair and gives all teams an opportunity to win at least a sectional. Putting 4A teams in 6A and 2A teams in 4A via a multiplier is not fair as I have explained over and over and over for 15 years.
  3. It would be a loss to see Attucks drop football. Those 14 players played the game with great passion and many of them were very good football players. and they should not have to leave Attucks to go play for another school. Has to be another solution out there. Is 14 players too few? Most likely. Not sure you need 22 to play in Class A or AA. I wonder how many schools in Class A or AA have 8 or 9 kids playing both ways. If you have 8 playing both ways you can field a team with 14 kids in theory. Again, 14 is most likely not enough especailly against a 3A or 4A school. Hope they find a solution that does not involve dropping football.
  4. I figured that would be your response. We are miles apart when it comes to what we both believe is "fair". The 2.0 multiplier will ensure no PP schools win sectionals let alone State Championships wiht the possible exception of Cathedral. I absolutley believe that schools should be able to play down based upon what a "Unsuccess Factor". When I saw Attucks show up to play Roncalli in the Sectionals with 14 players, I immediately thought how wrong this is that they are having to play Roncalli. (different story in basketball as Attucks has had much success in the past couple of year - last year beat Cathedral - yes Cathedral). Team like your beloved Frankfurt (2 sectionals in the last 20 years), should be allowed to playdown. If we can come up with a formula to move teams up, we should be able to have a formula to move teams down. I think it is needed and would be a great idea and hope one day the IHSAA will implement it.
  5. I think you would agree that if LCC was in 3A they would be in the West Lafayette sectional. In the past 4 years West Lafayette has beaten them 180 to 14. 180 to 14. That includes last year when they won the state championship in 1A. Got beat 50-0. You consider that "holding their own"? In the times that they moved up to 2A, I don't think they ever won a sectional. So how can a school that can't win at 2A compete at 3A? If the goal is to put them in 3A so that they would never win even a sectional, then I believe you that goal would be accomplished.
  6. What a great tribute to what I hear was an outstanding young man. What a tragic loss for Cathedral. Good luck on Friday, but I don't think you need one drop of luck.
  7. How is that an answer? This tread is about Roncalli. When someone (read Muda or DT), make a disparaging comment about Roncalli I am going to respond. I have that right. Muda and DT are certainly entitled to their position but if they say things that are factually incorrect and make disparaging comments about people associated with Roncallie that I know are incorrect, I am going to fire back.
  8. May have been a suspect call? Not sure I buy into the "great stuff". My oldest son was on that team and was the receipient of the Phil N. Eskew Mental Attitude Award after the game. That was a tough loss, but life is about wins and losses. That game against Lowell has certainly grounded me in the belief that any team playing in the State Championship can come out the winner. My youngest son is the Offensive Coordinator for Roncalli and will be calling the plays on Friday. Might be more anxious for him calling the plays than when he was actually playing. I think it will be a great game, and having Hobart back in the State Finals is awesome.
  9. OK - I made the mistake of assuming that it was only Roncalli in 6A and not Cathedral. Playing along with DT and his 2.0 multiplier both Roncalli and Cathedral would be in 6A. They would put Warren, Roncalli and Cathedral in the same sectionall. Let's take a look and see how well Roncalli has done in boys basketball since moving to the top class since 2010-2011. Zero sectional titles. They did win four games in sectional play during those ten years. So about every other year they win a game. The "success' that Roncalli enjoys in basketball would be greater than the success in football playing in 6A. They don't belong in 6A as a 4A school. Can they compete and should they move up to 5A next year if they have the SF points. Yes. Difference between top level 5A football and 6A football is huge.
  10. Said it multiple times. That one school is Cathedral. If you have another PP school that you think can win playing 2 classes up (which is what the 2.0 multiplier will drive), I am more that interested in that. This year, Roncalli with one their best teams in the past 15 years would be a 24 point underdog to Center Grove which would be the Sectional that they would play in (Sagarin 118 to 94). 11 points from a running clock. In most years, the difference would be much greater.
  11. How is a tread that one is talking about Roncalli hijaked on a tread about Roncalli? What, only people that agree with DT are allowed to come on here and agree with him? Please explain. Can't wait to hear this?
  12. Spare me. Your "stregthen the game" comments by you and DT have and remain laughable. I "practice" on who I want, just as you do. The end of the day, nothing is going to change regarding the Success Factor. They may tweek it to 4 years which I would fully support.
  13. The Surpreme Court of the U.S. will ultimately decide if Religious Organizations have the right to hire and fire those that do or do not practice beliefs of the Religious Organization. I will accept whatever decision they make. Pretty sure you will not.
  14. I sadly consider myelf woeful in being a zealot compared to the zealot that you are in your zeal against the PPs.
  15. I come out mostly to see you and DT lose your minds with your hate as you see the success of the PPs. I knew you would not disappoint. Well done.
  16. Again, just as DT you are clueless. The policy is the Archdiocese not Roncalli. Try at least and have your facts right before you post nonfactual information. I know over the years this has proven difficult, but give it a try at least.
  17. and 10X more for you! See I have been back for a week posting. This seems to be your life with 5,000 posts. Laughable that I should get a life. Laughable. Your hypocrisy I see has remained consistent over the years.
  18. No, not like that. The percent of "government schools" that have won state championships is much higher that than the one school that would win with the 2.0 multiplier. So, no not like that.
  19. I just watched HUDL film of Hobart's DE Bobby Babcock who is headed to Illinois State. Without doubt the best DE I have seen all year. This guy is quick as a cat and strong as an OX. Sending a note to Tom Allen - IU needs this kid! Looking at the rest of the Hobart Team I can see why they are playing on Friday. I think this game is going to be much closer than anyone thinks. If you are playing on Friday or Saturday this weekend, you can walk out with a victory. Last time Roncalli played a "Region School" the outcome was not so good. (and the block in the back on the kickoff return late in the game was a bad call!).
  20. You are not going to get away with that comment. The "great respect" you have for them is clear in wanting to impose a 2.0 multiplier on them which would ensure 99% of those schools would never win a State Champ. Respect? Give me a break. Cathedral is the ONLY school can could compete going moving up 2 classes from their enrollment which is what the multiplier would do. Respect? The 2.0 multiplier is disrespect. At least try and be honest. Respect? Give me a break.
  21. Holy Cow Muda. I have only been back a week and you and I agree on a major subject in the first week. I think posting under Rebel Dad we went years without agreeing! :)
  22. Did not come from an upbringing of having people pay my debt. Does not seem "fair" to me that people that worked two jobs in college and had debt coming out, paid off their debt, but people who had no job in college and not paid their debt get it paid off. Seems wrong on so many levels. Like a 2.0 multiplier. Punish those that work hard. Yea, that is a great plan for society today.
  23. He (DT) is wrong. He is wrong on just about EVERYTHING he posts about Roncalli. Call it ignorance, arrogance, hate, jealousy, - pick one: he thinks he knows more that the people that associated with the school and the program.
