  1. I think this paragraph from Indy Star Kyle Neddenriep details what most of the state things about the PP success this year. Would believe that Mr. Neddenriep reaches thousands more that DT with his view. Is it a “problem” if five private schools win state titles? I don’t sense that. The Indiana High School Athletic Association’s tournament success factor is designed to address some of those dynasty issues. Chatard will move up to 4A for the next two-year cycle. Cathedral has not won a state title since 2014 and Roncalli since 2016. Since the IHSAA added a sixth class in 2013, private schools have won 15 of a possible 42 titles. Private schools have filled 22 of a potential 84 spots in the state finals (not counting this season). We did not hear much about the private school dominance when only one private school won in 2017 and again in ’18. There were only two private schools in the state finals each of those years. Since 2013, we have not seen more than three private schools win titles in a given year. There were three in 2013, ’15, ’16 and ’19.
  2. That sadly is not our society anymore. We have an incoming President who wants to pay off college student loans with his very first executive order. People that worked two jobs, and paid back their loans - too bad. You get a 2.0 multiplier!
  3. So if I understand your reply, you are saying if PPs won 2A to 6A with the Success Factor you would be OK with it. Or are you saying 2A to 6A with the multipier. I can assure you with 100% certainty that a 2A to 6A sweep with the multiplier would never happen. and by some miracle it did, you would be the first one to call for the PPs to go form their own tournament.
  4. Appreciate the reply. You did not answer the question. This is not CNN asking Joe Biden questions here. :) If a 2.0 multiplier was put into place and after 4 years not a single PP school won a state championship, would you call the 2.0 multiplier a success.
  5. Not expecting any tears. Nor have we shed any in the last decade in a half.
  6. and for the 2nd post in a row, I agree with what you say here. I totally "buy in" to what you are saying. The difference is that I believe the Success Factor that is in place by the IHSAA is a very good solution that works and is accepted by most everyone. You want a 2.0 multiplier that would make sure 99% of the PP schools would never win a state championship. I would be that with your 2.0 multiplier (that by the way, I can't believe I have spent so much time debating since it has a 0% chance of happening), 90% of the PPs would not win a sectional. The only school that would have a chance in football to compete with a 2.0 multiplier would be Cathedral. Let me ask you this one question, and I hope you give me an honest answer. If a 2.0 multiplier was put into place, and after say 4 years, a PP school had not won or even played in a State Championship would you call that a success. Let me show my hand here before you answer. Unless I am missing something, I think you would call it a success. I thinkg that is exactly what you want. No state championships for PP schools. A 2.0 multiplier will give you that. As you say, "we know these things to be true". Looking forward to your response here. I really am.
  7. Scott Marsh was a good man and not run off campus. Wrong again you are. But you are wrong in about 90% of your take on Roncalli. Always have and always will. Why? Because of your hate. I don't minimize Roncalli's success. I have said for 20 years here that they have success because of the PROGRAM. I have fully supported the Success Factor which has worked. Again let me remind you Mr. Roncalli Hater that Roncalli has won one state championship in 15 years.
  8. I might actually agree that this formula is close to being correct. The "total buy in" you see in almost all programs PP or Public. Center Grove is the 6A example of A + B = C. I could find examples in all classes in all sports for both PP and Public. The difference is that you want to penalize (pick a word here: penalize, punish) the PP schools with a 2.0 multiplier because they are able to implement that forumula, but OK for the public schools to do so. Pathetic.
  9. Your hate emotion is actually sad. The talent did not scatter. Roncalli lost no more kids during your "scandal period" than they lost in previous years. The downturn in the program was no more significant than what I showed in previous post under Scrifres during 3 year periods. I think most people would not see 8-2 being a downturn. Only you DT with your hater glasses on would see that. Schools reputation is just fine for the vast majority for which it matters. I could not give two cents on what you think of the reputation of Roncalli.
  10. I am sure you do! We are more than happy with the QB we have had for the last 3 years and will have next year. Home grown talent from southside Nativity. Good luck on Friday, but not sure you need it.
  11. Post like this show your absolute contempt for Roncalli. Those "sordid scandals" kind of all disappeared from the headlines. The Surpreme Court will settle the ones still not resolved. Roncalli is an outstanding instituition and the vast majority of students and parents who have attended or are attending are proud of their accomplishments. Your contempt has been around for what 20 years now and sure it will continue for the next 20. You should really try and "get a life" outside of your unhealthy fixation on the school.
  12. and Scifes was 15-16 in 2007-2009. So Marsh was better than Scifres comparing those two 3 year periods. See 18-15 is a better record than 15-16. Did you not see my post that I am willing to review your posts before you make them? Let me help you. That acually only has a 95% chance of happening unlike the 100% for Roncalli and Cathedral.
  13. I don't think that there was voter fraud to the tune that Trump alludes, but I am 100% confinced that those lottery balls are fixed to make sure that Roncalli and Cathedral play each other in the first round of the playoff if in the same sectional. 100% certain of it!
  14. Spot on and so very well said! Good luck to the Irish on Friday. Again not sure if Rebel Dad could have brought himself to say that, but Granndpa B is comes out easy! :)
  15. You know so LITTLE about Roncalli it is actually laughable. Scrifres leaving had nothing to do with their lack of success. Nothing. Those of us close to the program know this. The year (2017) Scrifes left, Scott Marsh was 8-2 and lost to Cathedral 28-23 in the playoffs. 2018 was a very down year for talent and Scrifes would have also had a losing season as he did in previous years if he was the head coach. 2019 they won the sectional and barely lost to Mount Vernon in the Regional. The "wheels came off" one year. 2018. Just as they came off for Scrifes in many of the years from 2006 onward that they won only the one state championship. If you want to send me a direct message before you make further uninformed comments about Roncalli, I would certainly be willing to review your comments before you post something that is just wrong. Rebel Dad would have used a different word than "wrong" but Grandpa B is a kinder more gentle poster.
  16. Roncalli would be a 25 point underdog to Center Grove this weekend. They would be a 20 point underdog to Cathedral. These are straight off the Sagarin Site updated after last nights game. Roncalli would NEVER win a 6A title which is absolutely the motive of DT and Muda. Roncalli has won one State Title in the last 15 years. One. The current system works. Roncalli was rightfully moved up to 5A after their 2016 title. They did not win a single playoff game (yes I know they played Cathedral - who by the way did not win in those two years either). System works.
  17. Fair enough. What first came to mind when you said "stick around for the ride" is now waiting for the New Green Deal, elimination of gas cars, college debt loan foregiveness (don't get me started there!) , mandatory gun buy backs, defund the police, free child care, no borders, etc. Just like the 2.0 multiplier, I can't wait to watch this ride!
  18. Just rediculous. You have been at this 20 years. GIVE. IT. UP. SF works. Roncalli has one State Championship in past 15 years. SF works. You might get 5% support in the IHSAA to support a 2 bump up in class. Want to know why? SF Works. It is enjoyable to come back on here every couple of years and see the calories you burn on this nonsense. Appreciate the entertainment. When my Grandsons who are two years old are playing for Roncalli and Guerin 12 years from now, I hope I can come back on here and get a couple of minutes more of enjoyment because I know you will still be at it!
  19. Well said. I also think they have a pretty awesome Offensive Coordinator, but I am a little biased I admit. :)
  20. The years that Roncalli was eliminated by Cathedral for the most part, their record in those years was not what I would consider "bump up class worthy". - 6-4, 3-7, 5-5, 5-7, 7-4, 9-3, 8-4, 8-2, 3-7. Since 2006 in the years Roncalli was eliminated by Cathedral they were a combined 54 Wins and 43 losses. That is worthy of DT having them play in 6A. As Joe Biden says, "C'mon Man".
  21. Many of us have said for year good Captain that PP schools do have advantages. We acknowledge that. Just not a 2.0 multiplier advantage. The Success Factor works. Roncalli has won one state championship in the last 15 years. One. Success Factor pushed them up to 5A and they won no tournament games. None. Not one. Yet DT wants them up in 6A. Rediculous.
  22. Footballking - I have looked through the posts and see you continue to well represent the views of the PP schools. Well done.
  23. Well said! Good to see that you are still in the discussion Footballking16. This is RebelDad with a new name!
