  1. Dang it! Was hoping that was where you were going.
  2. Apolgize and I used it again in another post! It just works so well in many of my posts.
  3. What? "Folks in Green". I could be wrong, but I think you are implying that Cathedral is recruiting kids from Marion County schools? Is that what you are implying. 15 years ago I wrongly thought the same thing. I would wager big money that Cathedral had few if any players that transferred into Cathedral from antoher High School. Cathedral has no Division 1 players on their roster. Might just be and I know the "hate/envy" club is going to HATE this but it might just be THE PROGRAM. How about you take your Hate/Envy elsewhere? But that's just me.
  4. For years I said blinded by hate. But always felt maybe that was too harsh. I think I will go forward with the "hate/envy" when I respond to the posts of kicking them out of the tournament or the 1.65 or 2.0 multiplier. Yes, Hate/Envy. That works!
  5. Not sure we agreed on that. But still less than 50% if we are counting New Pal. And for the record, we in New Pal do not consider ourselves in the Metro Area. and no chance Western Boone is a Metro Area school. 4 of 18.
  6. and in the 3 years before this year, out of the 18 state champions, 3 came from Marion County? In the Metro area 4 (Ben Davis, Warren, Carmel and Chatard). 4 of 18.
  7. Because you are excluding an entire group of kids because of the type of school that they attend. I have been in full support of the Success Factor and could even suppport a one class bump up of the PP schools because of the advantages that they have. Excluding them from the tournament is just wrong.
  8. That would be a big no thanks. "They would just have their own separate post season tournament". Let me re-word that for you. "We would exclude them from the post season tournament."
  9. Well it is not the end of the story. You might get about 5% of the administrators in the state that would support it. There was a dishonorable time that we did not allow African- Americans to play IHSAA sports. A shameful period in our history. Now you want to exclude P/P schools which I believe are because of the success of Cathedral, Chatard, Bishop Luers, Roncalli, Fort Wayne Dwenger, Cardinal Ritter and Layfayette Central CATHOLIC. Now what do all of these (7) teams have in common? Your hint is in bold. Let's kick the Catholics out of the tournament.
  10. What a game. One of the best High School game I have ever seen. What a tough game to lose for either team. #8 Marsh for Western Boone played one of the best High School games I have ever seen. My goodness. and there goes your PP sweep.
  11. I think I will copy and save this post and use it as my response going forward when I see the "le's kick the PPs out of the tournament", "bump them up 2 classes with a 2.0 multiplier" crap. Yes C R A P. This is now my manifesto.
  12. Great Post. Facts. Well done. As I said to say "Texas does not let PP play with publics" is just not having any facts. Well done.
  13. Well thanks I think. And a correction if I may. I don't hate DT. It is him who I said is a hater on the PP success. Please correct if you would.
  14. I have seen HUDL film of Hobart this year. To say they have "no chance" is just wrong and I would argue disrespectful to the kids who battled to get to Indianapolis this weekend.
  15. Denial? Have you read any of my post?. I have said a hundred times on this site that PP have an advantage and i would support the one class bump up. Would I prefer to see the SF stay in place? Yes. Support playing up a class? Yes. What part of this puts me in denial. Try and be specific if that is even possible. And I agree with most of your last sentence. I think Cathedral could take CG this year with a 2nd try. Would be a great game. CC might hold their own in 2A but no way in 3A. No way. They would get crushed by most of the top teams in 3A.
  16. Ding ding. There you go. Was wondering how long it would take for someone to say but them (P/Ps) in their own tournament. No SF, No multiplier, No Reverse multiplier, - just exclude them from the rest of us. Texas is a world apart from Indiana when it comes to High School Football.
  17. Excellent post. Well thought out. We will have to agree to disagree about Chatard playing up 2 classes. While I think there are been short periods of time that Chatard and Roncalli might have been able to play up two classes, I strongly believe that only Cathedral has shown the staying power to play up 2 classes. From what I understand, Chatard will be "down" the next couple of years and back in 3A in two years. I like what the SF has accomplished. Was surprised at how many states have neither a SF or multiplier. 18. Did I just not say that I believe I could support PP playing up a class. Yes I did. Do I think the Success Factor has done its job. But if there is a mandate for the P/P to play up a class, because of the advantages that I have said are in play, I would support. and would also like to see a reverse multiplier based upon free and reduced lunches. Have not seen your take on that yet. WIth Cathedral and Roncalli being in Class 5A with the playing up a class, can you support let's say the north/south divding line being I-70? I have my reasons! :)
  19. Here is an article that shows how all the states are addressing competitive balance. Updated in 2019. Very interesting. Not sure I could support a multiplier that has a PP school playing up two classes. If you had the 1.65 multiplier with teams only having to go up 1 class, you might have more of a chance of gettting by in. I believe the Success Factor is still the best solution. I do like how some of the states have a reverse multiplier using free and reduced lunch as the driver. That seems fair as it addresses the heart of the social-economic advantage of P/P schools and schools in well off districts. https://www.cleveland.com/highschoolsports/article/ohsaas-competitive-balance-referendum-the-latest-round-in-a-national-fight-between-public-and-private-schools/
  20. I do not believe that the current system is perfect. Not sure if any state has the perfect formula. I would fully support a "true system of promotion AND relegation". An arbitrary 2.0 multiplier on PP schoos is a non-starter, but I would be interested in having a discussion about what fair looks like. I have said for years that PP schools have an advantage over public school. We have listed those numerous times (social-economic, parent involvement, facilities, etc). No surprise during this pandemic that PP schools have done so well. Who had more access to home gyms? Would believe kids in PP Schools. Show me your "true system". I would love to discuss it with you.
  21. Might disagree with you on this more so than moving Roncalli up to 6A (which has a 0.0003 chance of happening) . It was stated here that Attucks had over 40 players just last year. These kids need football, don't take it away from them. And saying they can go to Tech is no answer. They want to play for the High School that they attend. I know a teacher at Attucks and if most of the teachers are like him, then Attucks is in a good place. Let them play!
  22. I actually laughed out loud when I saw that response. Since I can remember (at least 15 years) you have been advocating that the advantages of the PP's have is not FAIR. You want to level the playing field to make it fair. I really can't square that comment from you. and for the record, I agree with you. I just received a call from an Army Officer I served with before I retired. Told me just how much the Army has changed (to the detriment of good order and discipline) because political correctness. Said I would not recognize the Army I served in and I only retired in 2014. So many in society demand that we make like fair for everyone. When you do that you make life fair for no one. My opinion.
