I'd wonder how success they'd be "recruiting" at CYOs?  If you're at a CYO and going to a private school, you are likely considering Chatard, Guerin, Roncalli, and even though they aren't technically archdiocese schools, Brebeuf and Cathedral.

I personally have walked through CC front doors many times, and have known several people there in the past and currently including students.  They are not actively recruiting for football.....as been said they are in great location to pick up kids that can change the 1A landscape.  Can they do it every year?  I don't think so...heck Brownsburg recruits harder than CC.

Is there anything in place that can prevent them from doing so?

Whenever the CC staff is at CYO events, are they not "recruiting by position,"  looking for future linemen, receivers and quarterback candidates?  Of course they are.

I don't think they are recruiting...you spelled it out in your post...they are in a perfect location to attract impact kids.  The head coaching turnover the last few years have impacted that if they wanted to go out and recruit

  3.  a few years ago one of the Hendricks County HCC schools expelled a kid for his sophomore year/season....enrolled at CC for that year and went back to that HCC school and most games was the best player/athlete on the field for two years....now playing local D2....I assume they had a few rentals on this year's team... they look at it as that 12k will add nicely to the bottom line....also a few years ago they had a few rental basketball players from Carmel after a former well know IU player sent his kids there.  Money talks

Do you really believe a school like CC is going out and recruiting by position? That wasn't meant to be a snarky question, I genuinely wonder if that is really the case?

No they don't recruit...they don't need to as kids will show up for various reasons

I think Warren Central will be the 6A champion next year. The Warriors return much of their team from their 4-6 season.

CG loses all its LB's and Db's....if Warren has a team with speed at the skill positions you may be correct....I will take team speed over inexperienced 2nd and 3rd level new players.

On one hand, I know that the virus knows no boundaries but I will say that Marion County was hit harder by COVID due to the fact that many of their families were struggling financially to begin with, compared to their Hendricks County counterparts.  That being said, I don't know if I buy that as a legitimate excuse.

It seemed to me that Brownsburg and BD went in different directions this season.  The 'Dogs peaked early and the Giants improved week by week.  I do not really buy into the transitive property too much and while I think it would have been much closer, I still think Brownsburg beats BD if they played again.  The Giants caught Carmel at the perfect time whereas Brownsburg did not.

    2021 will be interesting.

Covid is not an excuse...we all had to deal with it...last year's BD/Avon game was worse than this past season....BD coach may be very good, but I think its obvious his weakness is off season preparation and early season.  Again, did Kirschner have this issue?

Is it really though? Ben Davis was already an extremely young team to begin with, couple that with their COVID issues and lack of preparation against not only good but senior laden opponents, it’s not that shocking. They were playing just fine by seasons end once they got their feet under them.

considering previous coaches success I guess if the BD administrators are good with mediocrity.  Also, they had several senior starters and tell me more about the COVID issues.....were they more of a problem than say the two big Hendricks HCC schools?

Every student-athlete on Roncalli’s offensive line attended a South deanery grade school. This has been the case for at least the last five years if memory serves...

Maybe those Catholic grade school lunch ladies are slipping something in the Fish Sandwich lunches during Lent? It’s possible.

sorry but those of use that live in the real world "South deanery grade school school" says you have an  offensive line that will dominate public schools...those of us that live in an ever changing west side public school system it requires much more work.

  8. just a few years ago one of the Hendricks County HCC schools expelled a kid for his sophomore year/season....enrolled at CC for that year and went back to that HCC school and most games was the best player/athlete on the field for two years....no clue the make up of this years CC roster, but obviously if a family can scratch a check for 10K they can rent a player...not so easy for the non privates.
