I kind of remember seeing those score updates now that you mentioned how it went down. Seems like that was the story a lot last year for VL. Courier seems to think that too as I've seen in a couple different articles they reference close loses or games that were closer than the score appeared. Looking forward to more parity and close games again this season across the board. I don't think Reitz runs the table again which will open the door for some others. Jasper, Reitz, maybe even Castle or Memorial are my short list picks before any games are even played.

Gotcha. I guess my definition of not being disciplined is a little different. In my opinion, holds, offsides, PI, etc fall under the category of flow of the game penalties that could be called at any time or a mental lapse. Discipline penalties are more of the personal foul, unsportsmanlike conduct variety, in my opinion. Late hit out of bounds or roughing the QB or hit after the play, etc. I didn't see the Memorial game so I can't speak to it but having watched some other SIAC teams more, I'd say every team would have a week or two where they would fall under you "undisciplined" label.

Maybe Lincoln over Bosse - Bulldogs improved but low numbers and up-tempo offense will wear the Dogs out down the stretch MD over Central - game might be closer than many may think Castle over North - where does North get offense? Reitz over Harrison - by whatever they want Curious your thoughts on lack of discipline for Lincoln? Have you seen something that the rest of us haven't? When I watched last year a couple times I don't remember thinking "these guys aren't disciplined" Now, Reitz on the other hand....

This isn't even accounting for the QB from Reitz who got hurt and missed several games, or the fact Castle played two different QBs. Who knows how their stats would have been affected had they played an entire season, instead of splitting reps.

Obviously offensive scheme has an effect on overall stats. A QB for a more running focused offense won't have the same passing stats as a QB who plays in a more heavily relied on passing game. By no means am I saying he isn't a great QB, because he is, no doubt. Just for the sake of debate, plus it is a long offseason. Here are the stats (pulled from MaxPreps) for each of the 3 QBs selected to the SIAC All-Conference teams. (Wunderlich first team QB, Fisher second team QB, Hunt first team at large) Wunderlich (Mater Dei - 15 games played) - 2,911 passing yards, 29 TDs, 9 INTs 291 rushing yards, 6 Tds 3,202 total yards, 35 total TDs Per Game Stats: 194 passing yards per game, 19 rushing yards per game, 231 total yards per game Fisher (Ev. Memorial - 11 games played) - 1,830 passing yards, 15 TDs, 10 INTs -36 rushing yards, 1 TD 1,794 total yards, 16 total TDs Per Game Stats: 166 passing yards per game, -3 rushing yards per game, 163 total yards per game Hunt (VL - 10 games played) - 1,464 passing yards, 10 TDs, 7 INTs 908 rushing yards, 13 TDs 2,372 total yards, 23 total TDs Per Game Stats: 146 passing yards per game, 91 rushing yards per game, 237 total yards per game

Not to start something here but was he even the best QB in his own conference? Let alone the best player overall in the entire state. I understand his passing stats are what they are, MD runs a system that played to his strengths.

I think North runs away with it as long as they can finish their drives and not let penalties or turnovers derail them.

MD by as many as they want. Castle by at least 3 scores. North but closer than many may think. Reitz by 2-3 scores. Tigers by a TD

Based off of stats I pulled from MaxPreps, here is a comparison of season stats Wunderlich: 1683 passing yds, 18 TD, 5 INT/146 rush yds, 1 TD (19 total TDs) Hunt: 1464 passing yds, 10 TD, & INT/908 rush yds, 13 TD (23 total TDs) Arguments can be made for either. Glad it isn't my call as there will be some unhappy people regardless.

Both statements can be true without either being wrong

Appreciate you giving it a stab. I think the biggest discussions will be between who gets first team QB and who gets second. In my eyes, its a two horse race between Hunt from Vincennes and Wunderlich from MD. Would love to see the stats to compare the two.

Any stream of the tournament has to be approved by the IHSAA and whoever streams it has to pay them a fee to do so. Regular season games are free game but once the postseason hits, the IHSAA controls streaming rights

You're right, my mistake, this was discussed already in the other thread. 3 big plays by Vincennes accounted for all 600 yards. Two of which were mistakes by the officials and the third the lights from the stadium got in GS players eyes. Somehow they managed to score 3 more TDs (unless my math is off). My apologies.

"No one has been able to drive the football consistently against the GS defense" Except for the low level SIAC team that put up 42 points and almost 600 yards of offense. Or wait, did they do that against the JV team like MV did earlier in the season? I wasn't there so someone will have to inform me on that one.
