My comment wasn't a knock on Gibson by any means, just stating the facts on Floyd. I'd bet my house Gibson, Memorial, HH, and maybe Reitz/Mater Dei would beat Floyd come tournament time. 3A schools need a few weeks to get into game shape. Larger programs have plenty of kids to rotate in with fresh legs and sometimes its too much early in the season for smaller schools.

Floyd has won like 4 sectionals and I believe has never won a regional. They are average at best YOY and probably overrated this year. Class doesn’t mean anything…they couldn’t win 3A or 4A sectionals over here.

In 2002, when Kevin Tempel was playing, HH was up by like 30+ against SS in the 4th. Clayton was going to run the clock out to head home. However, SS kept calling time out and stopping the clock at the end of the game. So, Clayton ran the hook & ladder to score on them to ensure SS would get the ball back…because Bob’s just a nice guy like that! 😃 The Hook & Ladder against SS Friday night was Tempel’s tribute to Bob Clayton…luckily it worked!

Does Memorial move to 3A next year or did last Friday’s Sectional win keep them in 4A for another 2 years? I’ve heard the Sectional win keeps them in 4A, but I’ve also heard they have to beat East Central to stay in 4A. Seems to be some confusion based on the new point system…

Or a few recruits, but that is neither here nor there… 🤣

Wonder what the poor kids in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, etc do EVERY DAY when it’s hot out? Nevermind…they play football. That’s what they do.

Every game is big and should be treated that way.
