  1. You’re stuck with me Donnie THE Andrew Rodriguez I meant 1A. That’s my bad for not being specific. I should’ve known better.
  2. Another boring season in the WRC. 1. Panthers - easily will be the best team in 1a this year. I’ve heard the kid playing qb is a very good athlete and they have even gone spread a little bit this summer (just to empty the box some) I don’t think it’s state championship or bust. Look what Sanders has done! The WORST team in the state just a few years ago is now the BEST team in the state. I know I believe, the players believe and the community believes in him and this team. Can they make that final push? I think yes 2. Seeger - Coach Cronk brings that big ball knowledge to the WRC. We all remember what happened last time a 5a coach came to the WRC? Yeah he beat the crap outta everyone except RP. Look for the same thing to happen here. 3. Wolves - I could easily see them being in the #2 spot. Tough and well coached team. They have one of the best younger groups coming up and I see them competing for the top spot next year. Their 8th grade qb would be the best qb in the conference right now. 4. Covington - I think we all believe and trust in what Coach Wheeler is building. Gotta find a way to keep their numbers up. It’s tough when you have an extra sport like soccer. 1a programs can’t compete if there’s multiple sports per season. 5. SV - they will only get better. Young group that is ugly and very talented. Give them a year or two and they will be at the top. 6. Attica - this is the year the table starts turning. 7. NV - might have some more football players on the team but it will be another bad year. Can Crum and co turn things around? 8. FC - No Herb = no wins. It’s really that simple.
  3. Benton Central will also be viewed as a dark horse in football as well. They now have the legendary Herb King as their head coach. Look for them to be much much improved and be competitive in most all of their games. He takes not so great teams and makes them great team.
  4. But they made it out of their sectional and out of the regional and out of the semi state. Just to lose to Sheridan who had one of the best 1A football players the state has ever seen. Have to have post season success. Your comparing apples to oranges.
  5. The Panthers had a very solid year and Coach Sanders deserves credit for turning that program around. That’s not easy to do. That said I do think the conference overall is not as strong as it has been in previous years. There have been teams in the WRC over the last 20 years that were on a different level. It’ll be interesting to see if the Panthers can take the next step and prove they can compete at that elite level beyond just conference success. The 07 Rockville team would've had 50+ in the first half against the Panthers.
  6. The rebuilder is heading to Benton Central. May I ask who you are talking about?
  7. If NV would've moved on from Crabtree sooner they could've landed King. They waited too long and missed out on that opportunity though.
  8. How does Earl fill the shoes of the legendary Herb King? Tough task ahead of him for sure.
  9. The rumor I'm hearing is that he is following Herb and going to help him at Benton Central
  10. Coach King doesn’t have to consult with anyone about his moves. Does what he wants when he wants. I’m not sure what debate you’re talking about? I don’t think there’s anything to debate. We all know.
  11. Is this a real question?! What makes King so legendary is the impact he has on a program. Before Herb took over at FC they were a combined 4-23. The four years he was at FC they were 20-21. Is that great? Well its a heck of a lot better than 4-23. He takes struggling teams (most the time the worst in the state) and he turns them into competitive teams. If we look at Sagarin Ratings at the past couple schools he's been at Seeger in 2015 before he got there was a 12.61 / his last year 56.03 FC in 2021 before King they were 25.52 / his last year 50.27 Those are huge increases! and it takes him only a couple of years to get these teams competitive. Benton Central was a -.17 (yes that's a negative) this year. If the trend continues BC will be at least 30 points better next season. Again can anyone tell me where I can find some BC Bison gear?????
