  1. Covington @ South Vermillion - The Mildcats win by as much as they want. I'm hearing their qb is the real deal in the running game. Have not seen him in person yet. I don't see Covington's problems being fixed anytime soon. Lowish numbers all across the board. When will they realize small 1a programs cannot have three fall sports for the boys. FC @ Attica - I have also heard the Ramblers are low on numbers. That will not matter because they will play hard the whole time. Not sure if their problems will leave anytime soon either. Heard they had to cancel the junior high season due to numbers. Hopefully Dean can get some more kids soon. North Vermillion @ RP - I love what Crum is doing at NV. This time next year this group will be clicking and scoring a lot of points. Hinchee is the second best thrower. Man he throws a good ball. Up front won't be able to hang with those Panthers. The Panthers will not be tested until at least semi state. Too big and too strong and too fast. RP 63 NV 6 Parke Heritage @ Seeger - Won't be as close as some of you may think. Seeger is much better than the Wolves. The qb will throw all over them and #2 will have a big game receiving. Pats take this one 35-14
  2. Covington @ Fountain Central - Might end in a tie 0-0 If by 10-15 yards away from the ball carry who was on the sideline and the hit was in the middle of the field I would say you are correct. Obviously @Bear54 and @KDumbwitty are Panthers. It was in every way a blindsided, dirty and illegal hit. If the game was anywhere but RP he would've been ejected. Two weeks in a row of it too... Not all WRC teams are as blessed as the mighty Panthers and have 50+ kids on their roster. Most teams in our conference can't afford to take an athlete off the field because the drop off in talent/strength is too drastic. So what will you guys blame it on when it happens next week? My guess is that you guys are just too good and strong for the WRC. Maybe the WIC or the MIC would be a better fit. Parke Heritage @ Attica - PH wins by as much as they want. Riverton Parke @ Seeger - RP wins by as much as they want. South Vermillion @ North Vermillion - SV by a couple scores.
  3. FC @ RP - Panthers are the best team in 1A and its not even close. If they would've done some of the spread stuff last year we would be talking about a repeat state champion. Brad Sanders is cementing himself as one of the best coaches in WRC history. He's close to being in the conversations with the likes of Herb King and Brian Moore. He has all the pieces now he just has to go out and get the job done. NV @ Covington - I would not be surprised if this is close early on but the Trojans will pull away and win by at least three scores. NV is still very young but from what I am hearing Crum is doing great things. Should be competitive for about two or three quarters but the Trojans pull away late. 38-18 Seeger @ Attica - Seeger by a bunch. The QB will throw for a million yards against poor competition all year and will struggle against teams with a heartbeat. SV @ PH - Game of the week. SV's athletes keep them in the game and it will come down to the last couple positions. I'll take PH scoring late in the fourth to win 28-21
  4. Attica @ Tri County - What a game this will be. I don't think Attica is as bad as Tri County but it will be a close game. 28-20 Covington @ Englewood - I'm guessing this is the only team that Covington could find with an opening. Covington's QB is pretty tough. I saw he accounted for 5 TDs last week and I see him doing the same this week. The Trojans score and win by as many as they want. FC @ Cville - Southmont is down this year. Cville ran all over PH and they will do the same to FC. Paris @ NV - Cloverdale has the injury bug. NV's offense couldn't move the ball last week. I see the same issues again this week. Paris is a tough non conference matchup. 42-12 Paris Seeger @ BC - GAME OF THE WEEK! - Look for the Bison to bounce back this week. IF BC's TE could've played last week it would have been a different story. They moved the ball but bad errors and mistakes killed a lot of their drives. I'm not sold on Seeger yet. This will be one of their toughest opponents they face all year. I see Coach King getting a little revenge this week. BC 28-21 SV @ Sullivan - Sullivan will flex their muscles and ground and pound SV. Sullivan will be the much more physical team. The RB #3 is the real deal for them. SV did surprise me by how many points they were able to score on WV but Sullivan is much better. Sullivan 35-14 West Vigo @ PH - This will be a good game. West Vigo got things rolling a little too late last week. I look for Crabtree's squad to come out rolling this week. This one will come down to the last position. WV wins 28-21 RP @ Tri - Two very similar offenses and mindsets. Both are going to run the ball 40 times. This game might be over before 8:30. Even if Linton was missing a couple of keys players it is still a massive win RP. They will keep it rolling this week and win big. RP 60-7
  5. LOVE ME SOME WRC FOOTBALL. It will be different this year without King and Crabtree. Attica @ Faith - Faith Christian starts the year with a win. They are much improved from the past two years. Attica will be in this game until the end but the Eagles pull away late. 26-21 Carroll @ Seeger - Cronk gets to start his head coaching career with a tough win. Still a team I don't know a whole lot about but I know they have good athletes. Seeger 35-28 Covington @ Tri County - Does tri county have a team? I thought I heard they went to 8 man? Game or no game Covington wins easily. 60-0 Cville @ PH - I've heard Cville is much improved this year and we seem to think the same about the Wolves. I'll take PH in a close one. Game will be over soon as both teams will run the ball. 28-20 North Central @ NV - North Central is getting some early season recognition as I believe they are ranked 12th. NC does whatever they want against the Falcons. RP vs Linton - Now this is what I'm talking about! This is will a great test early on for both teams. I will have to lean towards Linton but I love RP taking this game. It will only prepare them for later success. Linton 35-24 Southmont @ FC - FC biggest was losing Herb King. Long long season for the Mustangs. Mounties by as much as they want West Vigo @ SV - Crabtree and the Vikings will keep this close. Both team will be better then they were last year. I'll take the Vikings 20-14 This weeks wildcard matchup is Delphi @ Benton Central - The Bison are looking tough this year. They return most of their team from last season and the addition of Coach King makes this team dangerous. Both team have new coaches and I'm picking the HOFer. Rumor is that his H back / tight end is a D1 caliber of athlete. Scary to give him too many weapons. Look for the Bison to score in bunches this season BC 28-14
  6. WRONG. Benton Central will give them a good game.
  7. You're underestimating him and he loves it. BC will have the one of the best years they've had in a long time.
  8. I remember back in 07 when Coach King's offense could've rushed for 4000 yds also but Matt King was so good at throwing the ball they had to throw it too. Speaking of Coach King I went to his scrimmage the other night and the Bison looked dangerous. They put a pounding on both Faith Christian and Elwood. Times are changing in Benton County. Look for a BIG improvement from them this year.
  9. You’re stuck with me Donnie THE Andrew Rodriguez I meant 1A. That’s my bad for not being specific. I should’ve known better.
  10. Another boring season in the WRC. 1. Panthers - easily will be the best team in 1a this year. I’ve heard the kid playing qb is a very good athlete and they have even gone spread a little bit this summer (just to empty the box some) I don’t think it’s state championship or bust. Look what Sanders has done! The WORST team in the state just a few years ago is now the BEST team in the state. I know I believe, the players believe and the community believes in him and this team. Can they make that final push? I think yes 2. Seeger - Coach Cronk brings that big ball knowledge to the WRC. We all remember what happened last time a 5a coach came to the WRC? Yeah he beat the crap outta everyone except RP. Look for the same thing to happen here. 3. Wolves - I could easily see them being in the #2 spot. Tough and well coached team. They have one of the best younger groups coming up and I see them competing for the top spot next year. Their 8th grade qb would be the best qb in the conference right now. 4. Covington - I think we all believe and trust in what Coach Wheeler is building. Gotta find a way to keep their numbers up. It’s tough when you have an extra sport like soccer. 1a programs can’t compete if there’s multiple sports per season. 5. SV - they will only get better. Young group that is ugly and very talented. Give them a year or two and they will be at the top. 6. Attica - this is the year the table starts turning. 7. NV - might have some more football players on the team but it will be another bad year. Can Crum and co turn things around? 8. FC - No Herb = no wins. It’s really that simple.
  11. Benton Central will also be viewed as a dark horse in football as well. They now have the legendary Herb King as their head coach. Look for them to be much much improved and be competitive in most all of their games. He takes not so great teams and makes them great team.
  12. But they made it out of their sectional and out of the regional and out of the semi state. Just to lose to Sheridan who had one of the best 1A football players the state has ever seen. Have to have post season success. Your comparing apples to oranges.
  13. The Panthers had a very solid year and Coach Sanders deserves credit for turning that program around. That’s not easy to do. That said I do think the conference overall is not as strong as it has been in previous years. There have been teams in the WRC over the last 20 years that were on a different level. It’ll be interesting to see if the Panthers can take the next step and prove they can compete at that elite level beyond just conference success. The 07 Rockville team would've had 50+ in the first half against the Panthers.
