  1. Three year winning streak??? That's pretty impressive! I've heard they have around 50 players on their roster this year is there any truth to that? I just can't imagine a school in the WRC having 50 kids on the roster.
  2. I didn’t even realize North Putnam was on Riverton Parke’s schedule. That’s a bummer that game didn’t happen this year. It would’ve been a fun one to watch. That’s really the next step for RP. They’ve got to beef up their schedule to get ready for the playoffs. Herb did the same thing right before the Seeger incident when he went out and scheduled Lafayette Central Catholic. Back when North Vermillion was rolling, they went and scheduled Linton. Man, it’d be awesome to see Linton and RP go at it this year. I get it’s harder now though, since the WRC only allows non-conference games in Weeks 1 and 2.
  3. Attica @ Herbs - Mustangs showed that they can still play some tough football last week. The dominance will continue against a much improved Attica team. It's always great when a Herb coached team gets a win in Covington and gets to TP Herb's tree! That's great tradition he's been doing! FC by as much as they want. Riverton Parke @ North Vermillion - I've seen multiple resources stating that the Panthers are state ranked #1. It's been a while since we've had a team ranked that high! I guess they are legit and it's time to accept that THE PANTHERS HAVE ARRIVED!!! Seeger @ Parke Heritage - Seeger will be too much for the Wolves to handle. I don't see this game being close. Seeger will be hungry after that loss to RP last week. Seeger wins 35-14 South Vermillion @ Covington - Covington is banged up from last weeks match up with the Mustangs. That was the toughest team they had seen so far. I'll take the Wildcats to win in a close one 28-22
  4. Take Moore, Crabtree and Barrett out of that and then tell me what his record is. He has a winning record against the other three coaches
  5. I'm not discrediting them for the improvements they have made. They are a much better program now than they were 10-15 years ago
  6. What has RP done to be considered a power? Beat 1-2 Cloverdale, 0-3 Edinburgh and 0-3 Fountain Central...
  7. It's in the name Richard
  8. He's not taking over good programs. So, yes his record has taken a hit but he took over a Fountain Central team that in three years only won four games. Before that it was Seeger who didn't have any success since 2010. Rockville would at least compete with teams and as soon as he left they were bad. He takes over bad programs and changes the culture. As for your comment about taking other coaches over him. There's only three coaches that fall into the category with Herb. The other three would not do as great of a job as he does. Last point you said was spot on though. He does a great job getting great PR
  9. Did you see the program he took over?! Complete dumpster fire. Now FC has some light on the end of the tunnel and it's all thanks to Herb King
  10. No body would have won games with those rockville teams after 08, but yet he kept producing winning season after winning season. Once he got things going in the right direction at the mess in Seeger he got kicked to the curb over something that wasn't even true. Things are trending up at FC and now he's battling the injury bug.
  11. Foxworthy (who is by far the best qb in the wrc and one of the best athletes) has a pulled hamstring. Starting running back didn't play last week and another lineman. Also heard Dodson who is all state linebacker was banged up. A good healthy team coached by Herb KING is beating the Panthers. How can you sit there and say that when FC is healthy they don't beat RP??
  12. Attica @ Woofs – The Woofs are off to a strong start, sitting at 2-1 for the first time since the legend Moore retired. Make it 3-1 after this week. Give me PH by 40. NV @ SV – County bragging rights are on the line. The Falcons showed flashes last week with a solid first half against Covington and I expect them to carry that momentum forward. Give me NV Herb’s @ Covington – Not the start my Hall of Famer was hoping for. FC folks have their eyes on a WRC championship and being one of the top teams in 1A. But if I know Herb, I know he’ll have those boys ready to roll this week. BIG road win incoming. FC 35–16. *It’s NOT time to ride into the sunset yet!!! Game of the Week – Seeger @ RP – Seeger is playing some good football, but I don’t think anyone in the WRC can match the physicality of the Panthers. Must be something in those tenderloins… Both squads are scoring over 40 a game and allowing less than 7, but RP is just a different beast. RP wins 31–14. And I’ll say this... if FC is healthy, I think that game last week against RP is much closer. I’d love to see a rematch.
  13. LOVE to see a WRC thread before the summer even gets here! Couple of coaching changes and a tiny bit of competition for the top spot in the WRC this upcoming season. In my mind there are really only two teams competing for the title. 1. Fountain Central - The KING is still going strong and I don't think anyone will have enough power to slow down his masterly crafted offense. With the best backfield in the conference in Foxworthy and Dodson, I don't see them scoring under 40 points a game. Those of you thinking Coach King will "ride into the sunset" are wrong. I don't think he'll ever give up coaching (that's only because I don't want him to) I truly believe he has a good 10 years of coaching at his peak before he retires. I simply have FC at 1 over RP because of The Coach King. 2. Riverton Parke - Man oh man do they have some big boys up front or what?! Rumor is they have multiple guys squatting over 400 pounds and some are into the 500s!!! With the line that they have I don't think it will matter too much who is running the ball. They will miss their two headed monster from last year, but I think they will still find success in running the ball. Is this the year they are crowned champion? 3. Seeger - They didn't lose a lot from last year. Coach Reagan is doing a good job over there and I think he will continue win as well. I think they bounce back after that tough 3 win season 4. NV - The return of Crabtree. One of the best coaches the WRC has ever seen (behind Herb of course). He has a lot of work to do with the under class men, but we all know that he will figure out ways to win ball games. 5. SV - Call me crazy but I think SV hired the perfect guy to come and replace Barrett. A hometown kid with the desire to WIN. I think a lot of people will count SV out this year but I think Miller will keep things on track. 6. PH - Let's not count PH out yet. All of the past season their head coach was gone. It's tough to win games when the head coach isn't there. I'm pretty sure coach Rector will be at PH all summer and for the fall. 7. Attica - Love coach Dean and what he's done at Attica. He had those boys playing hard all season. I think this will be the year they can score some points and be in some ball games. 8. Covington - Covington lost everyone and I think it will be a tough year for them. The good thing is that Wheeler is doing a great job and I do not think that they will stay at the bottom of the WRC for very long. From what I'm hearing is that they need more kids to come out to field a team this upcoming season.
  14. I don't hate your picks but I also don't love them. He is how the WRC will end this season. Top three teams are competitive and 2-4 are battling for second place. 1. PH - When you have the best player the conference has seen in the last 20 years you're going to win a lot of ball games. They are too athletic for any WRC team to compete with them. If this was football they would have a running clock by halftime every game. STATE CHAMPS!! 2. Covington - I think with what they are returning this year along with the senior class they will be ready to play. I think coach Morgan is doing a great job over there and they will be much improved. Plain and simple they are a basketball school. 3. NV - Losing White and Tryon is going to be big on this team. Those two were athletic enough to guard the opposing teams best player every game. I know they have a decent incoming freshman class and I could see a couple younger kids getting playing time. Can coach Write keep the momentum going and turn that football school into a basketball school? 4. SV - Big fish, little pond. 5. RP - Will have the athletes to compete with anyone but have never really been able to push over that edge and be dominate in basketball. 6 - 8 could end in order but I think they are the bottom this year. FC and Seeger lost too much talent last year so they will be young and inexperienced. 6. FC 7. Seeger 8. Attica
  15. South Vermillion @ Linton - I think the Wildcats have earned some praise around the WRC! They've shown that they can compete with school their size and not just beat up on the smaller schools (good for them). Just like that nutty guy said this is basically the sectional championship. I like SV's qb and athletes to keep it close for them. Physically I think Linton wins that battle. I'll take SV winning on another buzzer beater 35 - 32 South Putnam @ Covington - Watching the way SP beat my role model Coach King's Mustangs there is no way this will be a close ball game. Coach King had the perfect scheme for the Eagles but they are just too big, physical and athletic. I think SP will make it to state. South Putnam wins by as much as they want. Starters out at halftime Riverton Parke @ North Vermillion - This game was a nail bitter last time. RP giving the game away in the second half. NV can score some points but can they stop that slow, mythical, ground and pound offense that RP has? Panthers take this one from the Falcons and I don't see it being as close as the first meeting. Riverton wins 44 - 21
