  1. How bout them Spartans. Was the QB out against Westfield as well? Was at the Carroll/CG game. Came away impressed with both teams. Carroll was the harder hitting team. Can never discount Mishawaka, but East Noble is on a mission. Not only are they good, but they've got swagger. Lethal combo when kids are kicking ass and having fun while doing so. Thanks for the New Pal correction. East Noble may be calling themselves champions this year. But if they fall asleep against Dwenger, their season will come to an end. Just my thoughts after three weeks. Good to see the Saints back.
  2. Struggling to see anyone up north beat East Noble this year. Unfortunately for them, New Pal's best team ever awaits them.
  3. East Noble abused Snider, and so will Carroll. Right now, I have Carroll over East Noble, but I think it would be a good game. Carroll beats HSE in Week #1 if they're healthy.
  4. Worst, but still Top 20? I mean, they beat Ben Davis. Can't be too horribly bad.
  5. Looks good other than Northrop over Homestead. I'll take the Spartans in a close one.
  6. Slide Carroll up to #10. East Noble to #15. Penn to #19. Would like to see Merrillville in there somewhere, not sure who I'd eliminate though.
  7. Thought maybe Snider's OL would push some people around this season with 4/5 returning starters. Not so much. Could be on the verge of their first losing season 1989. Every team on their schedule other than Wayne has the personnel to beat them. Who knows though, maybe they'll get better each week and surprise everyone.
  8. Dwenger certainly looks like the better team so far. Good win over St. Francis De Sales.
  9. Missed seeing Brownsburg at #44. Disregard my original post. Fort Wayne schools were probably an island conference when Detroit King came calling. Driving distance may have been a factor too. The north side of Indy is, on average depending on the school, 1.5 hours. Detroit is 2.5 hours. Public schools? Forget it. Maybe Dwenger.
  10. Luers will be ready in Week 2. Good tune-up game with Leo first week.
  11. Why does Louisville Trinity sit at #50 with no representation from Indiana? If memory serves me correctly, they tend to struggle when they play Indy schools.
  12. It just makes sense to me. Fort Wayne is to Toledo as Homestead is to Noblesville with regard to drive time. Two similar type markets, although Toledo is bigger, with Hockey fan bases that can't stand one another. It would be a good border war in my opinion. Dwenger picked up St. Francis De Sales in week two, so maybe that game will create some momentum for more future contests. I like this matchup. Both programs have rich histories, but have struggled somewhat in recent years. Dwenger probably a little more so. East St. Louis is a beast............and a pretty long way away from Fort Wayne, so yeah, highly unlikely. I wanna say Snider scrimmaged them last year down at Westfield. Defense probably held their own, but that's about it. Doesn't matter, a game will never happen mainly due to distance.
  13. I agree with I agree. Outside of that, nothing really stands out. I think Avon will give DC a nice little welcome to 6A. It's not logical, in my opinion, to think some of these <6A programs can have a good season and suddenly call themselves Top 10 overall. There are fifteen 6A programs that would cause any program 5A or below a massive amount of grief. Avon covers the spread. Cathedral and Ben Davis is a head scratcher. Although the Irish waxed them by 18 last year, the Giants seemed to have improved as the season went along. I really don't know much about Russ Mann and his capabilities as a coach. One could say his program tanked in year two, which isn't a very good sign. One could also say that his team last year got better as they went, which could be a very good sign. Should be a good game. I'll take Ben Davis to cover. Out of Northeast Indiana, I'll take Snider to cover over Warsaw. One team has experience in the trenches, the other does not. That'll be the big difference in this one.
  14. Nowadays I'd be passed out dead if I drank that much.
  15. Is that with or without Carmel? And ten years is a tough bet, who will be their coach in ten years? With the right coaching staff, CG could be in a world of trouble against Ben Davis.
  16. Okay, let's bet portfolios.
  17. We really doing this with Heritage Hills? I'll give them #8 if they return 10 on offense and 10 on defense. Eight on both sides of the ball drops them #15. Six on both sides puts them at 18-22. Sorry, but the big schools at that top are brutal, not much room for a 3A enrollment team, or even 4A for that matter.
  18. I'll give you 10, I'll take Jeff.
  19. I'm just thinking Crown Point's coaching staff is just too good to allow Pike to beat them "handily."
  20. A shot? Closer? Nah, take it to the bank. WC still needed some lucky bounces to pull that one out..........even with Lewis on the sideline. I remember that game like it was yesterday. But hey, you have your opinion. Lewis was a projected draft project his junior season. He should have made the leap before losing his entire line for his senior year. Enough of that, back to 2025. They'll be fun to watch, but 6A is an uphill battle................as highly ranked Decatur Central is about to find out.
  21. Okay, no worries...............24/7 has the Northrop kid ranked #1. Just depends on the ranking I guess. 24/7 still has both receivers at Northrop, so who knows. They also have the Bardo kid at Penn still.
  22. If a certain area, let's say Elkhart, can produce stars, why can't it produce depth?
  23. The other two best receivers in the state both reside at Northrop. Wonder why it doesn't bother them? At the end of the day, colleges know who Bardo is...........won't matter if he has 10 catches or 50. I understand the logic though. Wait.................the three best receivers in the state all up north? What was that about going east vs west rather than north vs south for the all star game?
  24. I believe I said "deepest since 2004." That may or may not be the case, I just know they are pretty good. The 2004 team was deep, more than likely a broken ankle away from a state title that year.
