  2. This spring, youth football in Indianapolis is getting a fresh boost. Next Level Flag Football is officially launching its first season at Cathedral High School, bringing a co-ed league for grades K–7 to the north side of Indy. The goal is simple: create a high-energy, well-organized environment where young athletes can learn the game, develop fundamentals, and compete—without losing the fun that makes football special. Built for Development (and Busy Families) The weekly format is designed with families in mind: a short practice followed immediately by a game. Players get coached reps, then get to apply it right away—perfect for skill growth and attention spans. Game times vary by grade level, and the full schedule breakdown is posted on the registration page. Season Details Season: March 29 – May 17, 2026 Game days: Sundays (Week 2 is Saturday, April 4 due to Easter weekend) Cost: $205 (includes custom jersey + shorts + equipment) Registration deadline: April 5, 2026 at 12:00 AM Whether you’re a coach encouraging your young athletes to stay active in the offseason, or a parent looking for a first football experience that’s structured and welcoming, this league is built to be a great entry point—and a great spring tune-up. Who Should Join? Kids who want to learn football basics the right way Multi-sport athletes who want to keep competing in the spring Players who love football and want more reps in a fun, low-barrier setting Families looking for a local, organized, co-ed sports option How to Register Registration is open now and closes April 5 at midnight. Register here: https://www.nextlevelsports.com/Default.aspx?tabid=1040921 If you’re an Indianapolis-area coach, consider sharing this with your parents and youth community—more opportunities and more reps for kids is always a win. 3. The kid played 6 plays on Friday and is a situational/relief player. To penalize an entire team because of a silly quarter rule is a joke. I understand the rules and they make complete sense, but it should be 25% of the game/snaps rather than quarters. 6 out of 153 plays. Please.... CG was really butt hurt about losing their JV game that they had to dig into this. Sad. Take the L. Sorry you didn't have an undefeated season. Scoreboard doesn't lie. #LetTheKidsPlay
