  1. The concern for many, especially people living paycheck to paycheck, is that crony capitalism has replaced what is sold to us as just capitalism. The system needs to be cleaned up. I am not a fan of the income tax thing and making others pay more, but the fact is there are too many loopholes already in place for those that would be affected most. I have long supported the fair tax system to replace income tax. Term limits is something else that needs to happen as well. I still believe there are fixes that can happen. But for many young people, having more that is given to them is a more attractive thing right now, not saying feasible, but definitely more attractive to them.

If we’re gonna educate them in a “government “ school, might as well let them help pay their fair share with more income tax dollars from them

My thinking was that this is the next step in the progression of "free market" lol education. The "choices" will only apply to those with the resources. The ones with no "choices" could just start working.

I know its a big 10 road game, but calling it an IU MUST WIN vs Rutgers just shows you how the last few weeks has been unkind to IU

without a doubt. Honestly, I cannot remember a time when IU EVER lost 6 conference games in a row.

dangers of the 1 and done culture:

Painter hit it on the head in post game presser after IU game

Why should some of the mid tier guys bust hump when they roll out red carpet for Romeo and knowing he is gone in 2 months, is he worth fighting for?  That culture worth fighting for?   I say yes, but their play says otherwise as it just seems when adversity has set in, the fight as flown away.

The only program that seems able to sustain itself in that culture is Duke. Calipari was able to do it for a while. But once they fall off, it seems it’s difficult to recover. My guess is that Cal takes his show to Westwood next season. It may work for a while out there, as no one has mastered it out West. Coach K is head and shoulders above the crowd now.

As far as Romeo goes, there might be issues, but is seems teams have figured out they can pack the lane as it is the only high percentage area for IU to score from. But the way the season started, the team at least worked hard, especially on defense. I do think something off the court happened. Not sure if Green’s suspension was a by product or a catalyst to what has happened. I am worried that a loss to Rutgers, which seems likely, will put Archie on the hot seat. Sure it is just his second year, but the lack of competitiveness against Michigan is just not what anyone would expect from an IU team. If he has lost the team, that is a difficult thing to overcome.

"Senator Kruse once again".....Should tell you what you need to know.  This bill will go nowhere.  If it pushes beyond committee, I will join Muda's drumbeat......Who keeps electing this religious zealot?

The gerrymandering of districts with the super majority has him running unopposed. At least that has been the case his last two terms.

Do you happen to know the name and number of this Indiana bill?  I would like to read it's wording.  I wonder if it allows for classes in Quran literacy?  Torah literacy?

I will look it up. It was another gen from Senator Kruse. I am going to take a wild stab in the dark and say the answer to your question is no.

  7. Go to the facebook page Teabonics to find this one. There are some great comments to go with this. I just scanned the actual tweet from the President. The replies there.....wow

An FYI, the President based this tweet on a bill that has been proposed in this session of the General Assembly here in Indiana. It passed out of committee.

  8. As I watched the “game” against Michigan, I was shocked by the overall lack of effort and energy. Looking like they did last night, they may not win another game this year. As frustrated as people were with Crean, he never had a team this bad. I cannot remember a time when an IU team lost 6 conference games in a row. Not sure what is going on, but there must be something off the court or in the locker room going on. Sure Michigan is a better team, but not 20 plus points better.

  9. Best of luck on your move and your new adventures DT. We certainly have gone round and round ourselves over the years, but one thing that is undeniable; you generate a lot of conversation here. Looking forward to hearing how things are going for you in the Southwest. A HS friend of mine moved there recently, taking the job of director of rec sports at U of A and absolutely loves it down there.

    Probably the smart one. 🙂

My theory on multiple boys in the a family ... three or more.

    • The first one is usually naturally fast or big.
    • The second one is usually the opposite ... if the oldest is the biggest, the second oldest is usually fast to get away from him.
    • The third one is the smartest one ... usually to get away from the oldest one who's bigger and the second oldest who's faster gotta use a little brainpower.  May also be the comedian to figure out distractions to avoid brotherly beatings.
    • The fourth one is usually just a pure survivor and a freak of nature to survive the older three growing up.

Pretty close; being a guy from a family of 5 boys (2 girls as well). I was the 5th boy. I give the others a hard time because with all of us loving football, only one of gots rings 🤣 and the first coming from the first one in the family to attend a public school too. We were not spread out like some other families though. The oldest was born in March of 60; me being number 6, was born in September of 66. We have tried putting mom up for Sainthood, Now word back yet from the Vatican though.

Again - these kids were just waiting on their bus.  They had attended the right to life march (catholic school and all) just waiting on their bus.......

There are other videos coming up that would say otherwise. Not taking a side here, as the behaviors of numerous people on all 3 sides seemed to contribute to the chaos.

  12. From a sped teacher in our building

Basic skills  juniors and seniors now have to take ISTEP. They are only in elective classes yet have to take the English LA and Math portion of the ISTEP even though they are enrolled in functional skills math and English.

Let’s remember these are the kids that since they entered elementary school, we knew they would be counted as failures against our graduation rates, by law.
